The aim of this study is to analyze informatization competencies of the international ship supply companies at Busan port. This study comprehensively suggests certain issues attributed to the successful implementation of total information management system for ship supply. To achieve this objective, evaluation was undertaken based on the model of the National Competency Standards (NCS). This model consisted of three evaluation areas, including 20 items. Analysis of information competencies of ship supply companies was undertaken using the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) method. Survey data was collected from ship supply companies located in the ship supply center at Busan port. Results found that there were significant differences between importance and performance. In addition, overall informatization competency was very low. Thus, in order to ensure successful implementation of total information management system, re-education programs for ICT usage and dedicated support organization are necessary.

Recently e-marketplace, one of the e-business models, has gotten the spotlight so many companies have invested in the E-marketplace work or considered doing business in such a fashion. According to these conditions, Internet business chances are expanded and strategic activities are increased in ocean or harbor fields, as well. In addition, these days, port-related-ideas have changed just increasing the carloadings, expanding the harbor facilities so called quantity growth into creating the high valued-added business, namely quality growth. The Shipping Instrument supply business is one of the important high valued-added businesses of the harbor-related field. However, because the Shipping Instrument supply business at Gwangyang Port is very poor and operated on a small scale, the harbor service business has not been activated. Thus this study demonstrates that the e-Marketplace is forming a way to expand the Shipping Instrument supply business in order to develop the harbor service business at Gwangyang Port.

The Circumstances surrounding world ports have changed rapidly and port competition to attract more a client to each other. then, In the future, only a few ports will be survive. Therefore, industrail that concern with ports is very important position. if it revitalize, port must have international competitiveness. The purpose of this paper is as follow. The first is to investigate ship-instrument industrial with theoretical background and distribution cycle. And then, to determine the location' ship-instrument distribution center' in the Busan Port. The second is to analyze to proposal location for distribution center.
