  • In this paper, we propose a method that merges and splits players in the MeanShift tracking framework. The MeanShift tracking moves the center of tracking window to the maximum probability location given the target probability distribution. This tracking method has been widely used for real-time tracking problems because of its fast processing speed. However, it hardly handles occlusions in multiple object tracking systems. Occlusions can be usually solved by applying data association methods. In this paper, we propose a method that can be applied before data association methods. The proposed method automatically merges and splits the overlapped players by adjusting the each player's tracking map. We have compared the tracking performance of the MeanSfhit tracking algorithm and the proposed method.

  • Wins above replacement (WAR) is the most commonly used statistics of the sabermetrics that measure baseball players' abilities. The advantage of a WAR is that it enables to compare performances of players even though they have different roles such as pitcher and hitter. However, WAR is difficult to obtain with common records. Thus, a past studies (Lee and Kim, 2016) suggested the batting ability index to determine the ability of the batter focused on the sabermetrics statistics WAR. In this paper, we selected the best hitter with applying Korea baseball 2016 data based on a proposed model and then observed a total raking of others according to BAI. We are assured that BAI is very excellent statistics through comparing BAI and WAR which is in the spotlight in evaluating performances of players.

  • As for the current state of college taekwondo athletes' sport injury, times of occurrence and major causes showed differences in weight class and career, while situations of occurrence had differences in grade, weight class, and career. As for the measures to improve their coping ability, first aid showed differences in grade, while prevention of injury had differences in grade and career. Treatment methods turned out to have no differences. For college taekwondo athletes, sport injury occurred during exercise, mostly when they fell. In addition, lack of skill was the greatest major cause of sport injury. As for the sport injury coping ability, ice massage was used as first aid and self-massage was performed. For prevention of injury, sufficient fatigue recovery was considered to be the priority of prevention of injury.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the incidence of sports injury and trend of incidence pattern of national judo athletes. The research method was analyzed based on the records of all injuries experienced by national judo athletes during training and competition for 9 years from 2008 to 2016. A total of 20,345 sports injuries requiring physical therapy were 10,768 (52.93%) for women, 9,577 (47.07%) for men, lower extremities 9,688 (47.62%), upper limbs 5,807 (28.54%), and trunk 4,850 (23.84%) and knee-related injuries (27.82%) occur more frequently than other injuries. Shoulders, feet and back were more frequent in male athletes, and ankle, neck and hand injuries were more common in female athletes. Using the binomial trend line, the trend of the decrease of sports injuries in each area was shown. However, infrequent injuries such as hands and hips tend to increase gradually. The results of this study are expected to be used as a training program for judo athletes' sports injury and basic data.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing the attitudes and dispositions of doping in elite golf players. 136 elite golfers (75 male, 61 female) were participated in this study and responded to Performance Enhancement Attitude Scale, Perfectionism in Sport Scale and Perceived Motivational Climate in Sport Questionnaire-2. Data that were collected analyzed by hierarchical multi regression. In male golfers, unequal recognition (UR) of coach had a positive effect on the attitudes and dispositions of doping, and rivalry (R) had a negative effect on that. In female golfers, Coach's criticism (CC) had a positive effect on the attitudes and dispositions of doping. The effective anti-doping program which reflects the results of this study should be developed and implemented for elite golf players who need the anti-doping education.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect on self-management and sports coping of student athletes. The data was collected from 446 student athletes in Seoul and Incheon who were registered in Korean Olympic Committee before they participated the 2010 National Athletic Meet. Athlete Self-Management Questionnaires and Athlete's Sports Coping Scale Questionnaires as The investigation tools were used for the data collection. The data, which was collected by using SPSS 17.0, was analysed with t-test, factor analysis and multi-regression. The results of this study were as follows. First, there was a difference of the class over self-management and sports coping. Second, a difference in sports career existed between self-management and sports coping. Third, self-management affected sports coping of student athletes.

  • The purpose of the study was to explore media frames and its contents regarding foreign athletes' naturalization to Korea. For data, 101 media reports from the year of 2014 to 2016 were collected and analyzed. As results, in the simple-fact-report frame, facts regarding foreign athletes' naturalization process and results of the matches were reported. In the economic frame, legitimacy of the naturalization was supported by emphasizing its benefits. In the humane-interest frame, personal history and difficulty as foreign athletes were described. In the conflict frame, negative effects by the foreign athletes' naturalization were mainly reported.. In the morality/responsibility attribution frame, Chelsey Lee's document forgery case was mostly highlighted that later issued naturalized athletes' morality and following legal actions.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the economy and efficiency of two trained athlete groups of different training status. The subjects were 20 elite athletes composed of the cyclists group (n=10) and triathlon group (n=10). All subjects performed steady state testing at 50, 100, and 150 watts, with ample time to reach resting $VO_2$ and ventilation values between stages. The efficiency of two groups appears to be quite different, with triathlon competitors displaying superior efficiency values for the transitions from 0 to 50 and 100 watts. This same principle likely explains the economy of the groups, as triathlon competitor was again more economic at 50 and 100 watts. As though this matching of oxygen consumption and workload they can reduce the amount of oxygen deficit that must be repaid post exercise.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze sports injuries in athletes with disabilities during the 2015 National Games in Korea. We conducted a survey to assess sport injuries in 171 male athletes with disabilities who participated in this study. The shoulder was most frequently injured, followed by the fingers and low back. Contusions were the most common type of injury, and were usually caused by collisions with teammates or contact with equipment. Injuries often occur during enthusiastic play in both competition and practice sessions. Injured athletes are emergently treated with medicated spray and patch application by the head coach. Warm-up and cool-down exercises are recommended to prevent injury, and physical therapy is effective after an injury occurs. Based on these findings, an injury prevention training program and athletic trainers should be provided for athletes with disabilities to ensure appropriate care and rehabilitation.
