This thesis tries to evaluate the economic benefit of space chartering in comparison with time chartering with respect to mega container ships. For this it reviews the method of obtaining ship's carrying capacity such as time chartering and space chartering. Based on this, it tries to make comparison between the time chartering and space chartering on economic base. Finally, it suggest the economic benefit of space chartering with direction for further study.

국내외 해운 환경 변화를 반영한 새로운 발전 전략의 수립이 필요한 시점에서 본 연구는 고유가와 선복과잉 상황 하에서 경제속력으로 감속운항을 위한 선박추가 투입과 환적의 경제성 효과에 대해 실제비용을 바탕으로 사례분석하고 이를 근거로 해운기업이 소유한 가용선박의 활용방안을 제시한다.

최근들어 1만TEU급 초대형 컨테이너선이 잇따라 시장에 투입되면서 선복과잉이 우려되고 있다. 과연 메가급 컨테이너선이 규모경제의 잇점을 살릴 수 있을지, 아니면 메가급 위기로 다가올지 기대와 우려가 교차되고 있다. 다음은 로이즈 쉬핑 에코노미스트(Lloyd's Shipping Economist)지 2007년 10월호에 실린 스테판 메튜(Stephen Matthews)의 "Mega-risk"를 번역한 것이다.

To secure superiority in keen competition among ports and to satisfy demands of shippers and shipping companies who are a main customer of ports, logistics service should be improved. However, most of dissatisfaction for logistics service arises from frequent transportation changes of shippers and inaccuracy of cargo-working information offered from shipping companies and inaccuracy of cargo information carried in from carriers. Therefore, the study embodied BPR and yard management prototype system on the basis of the process of business flow in yard to settle the above problems. The study also checked that information of booking list in a yard-allocated plan could be applied to forming efficient collaborative supply networking in yard management by supplementing insufficient cargo.

올해 세계 유조선시장은 지난 해에 이어 시황 호조세가 지속될 것으로 보인다. 해양수산개발원에 따르면, 98년 세계 유조선시장은 선복과잉률이 97년의 7.1%에서 6.9%로 꾸준히 개선될 것으로 예상되고 있다. 이에 따라 유조선 운임은 페르시아만/극동항로의 VLCC기준으로 97년의 WS 74.5에서 98년에서는 76 내외로 상승할 전망이다. 최근 해양수산개발원이 발표한 98 세계 해운전망에서 유조선시장부문을 발췌ㆍ전재한다. <편집자 주>

선복굴절과 원복굴절을 갖는 광섬유의 원편광 복굴절 해석을 비틀림을 준 단일광섬유 및 이종광 섬유에 대하여 Faraday 회전에 대한 변조깊이로 나타내었으며, 이종광섬유를 사용할 경우, 출력 편광을 조정 할 수 있으며, 또한 이종광섬유를 사용함으로서 비틀림율이 낮을 경우에도 적절한 변조 깊이를 얻을 수 있었다. 이때, 비틀림 율은 12-20turns/m 정도였다.

Sophus Lie's research is regarded as one of the most important mathematical advancements in the $19^{th}$ century. His pioneering research in the field of differential equations resulted in an invaluable consolidation of calculus and group theory. Lie's group theory has been investigated and constantly modified by various mathematicians which resulted in a beautifully abstract yet concrete theory. However Lie's early intentions and ideas are lost in the mists of modern transfiguration. In this paper we explore Lie's early academic years and his object of studies which clarify the ground breaking ideas behind his theory.
