Spatial dose rates of high dose $^{131}I$ therapy patients were Measured Three dimensional (X, Y, Z) distributions. I have constructed geometrical an aluminum support structure for spatial dose meters placed in 5 different heights, 8 different azimuthal angles, 6 different time interval and distance 100 cm from High dose$^{131}I$ therapy patients. when the height of vertical plane Spatial dose distribution is 100 cm, the Spatial dose rates is max and the error range is low. the vertical plane Spatial dose rates was found to be 71.85 ${\mu}Sv/h$ on the average at a distance of 100 cm, height 100 cm, from the patients 24 hours after $^{131}I$ oral administration. I divided 12 patients into two groups. I have analysed group A (drinking 5 L water) and group B (drinking 3 L water) in order to measure decrease spatial dose rates. I have found the spatial distributions of patient dose rates is $44.9{\pm}7.2$${\mu}Sv/h$ in group A and $100.3{\pm}8.1$${\mu}Sv/h$ in group B by 24 after $^{131}I$ oral administration. the reduction factor was found to be approximately 54 % through drinking 5 L water during 24 hours.

Esophageal cancers are highly malignant neoplasms. Prognosis of esophageal cancer treated by external irradiation alone is rather poor because of local recurrence and distant metastasis. Recently intracavitary irradiation has been used as a boost therapy after external irradation to optain better local control. One case of esophageal cancer has been treated by high dose rate remote-controlled afterloading unit as boost therapy after external irradiation. The result was excellent in short term follow up esophagogram but esophageal bleeding and esophagotracheal fistula were noted in further follow up examination after inappropriate posttreatment management including insufficient chemotherapy due to poor general condition. We reviewed possible causes of esophageal bleeding and esophagotracheal fistula after external irradiation and high dose rate ICR.
Digital Mammography is very important for the early diagnosis of breast cancer. but excessive radiation dose to the patient may increase the probability of occurrence of breast cancer. absorbed dose rate and signal, noise, and contrast in accordance with the change of the filter, and analyzed the signal-to-noise ratio. absorbed dose rate GE Equipment is higher than that of Siemens and Hologic. using the material of Mo / Mo was lower than the other target-filter combination. SNR of Siemens equipment is high and measured high when Mo / Mo selected, the other two devices was measured high when Mo / Rh selected. when you choose a target-filter combination our results will be a good indicator.

Korean individual occupational exposure control is focused on the retrospective service to the over-exposed person by the reading of personal dosimeter. Since the radiophamaceuticals using in the nuclear medicine department are uncontained radiation sources, the potential exposure at working environment is very high. Moreover, a patient remains radioactive for hours or even days after the administration of a radiopharmaceutical for diagnosis or treatment. Thus, the proper working environmental exposure control must be established and executed to protect not only the affiliated employees, but also guardians accompanying patients and temporarily visiting public from the exposure by the patients. Japanese radiation protection law regulates working environmental radiation exposure by regularly measuring and filing the environmental dose for years. This study was aimed at measuring working environmental radiation dose in the nuclear medicine department of an university hospital located in Daejeon, Korea. We measured the accumulation radiation dose in air at 8 locations in the nuclear medicine department by using the same method as in Japan with glass dosimeters. The highest dose rate, 0.23 mSv per month, was measured at the waiting room, and the second one is at reception desk. Even though the doses were lower than the Korean constraint dose rate (0.3 mSv/week) at the boundary of the radiation controlled area, it was over the dose limit of public (1 mSv/y) and environment (0.25 mSv/y). Conclusionally, it was found that the new or additional procedure was necessary to less the exposure dose to the receptionist and guardians by the environmental radiation dose in the nuclear medicine department.

It is recommended that the door of control room is closed during radiography to protect a radiologic technologist. However, for those patients such as of emergency or pediatrics, the door must be kept open unavoidably to apply immediate medical administration and treatment on the potential case of emergency which could be happened through the course of radiography. In addition, it could be efficient by reducing patients waiting time when the door is open for a general case. This study was conducted to evaluate practical exposure rate to a radiologic technologist when the door is open during the radiography, and to find out the ways to minimize radiation exposure and to increase the efficiency simultaneously. Measuring practical exposure rate was fulfilled with glass dosimeter, and it was 2.02 mGy/week at the location of radiologic technologist under the condition that the door is open during the radiography, which was about 2.3 times higher than the 100 mR/week. It means that the considerable amount of scattered rays through the door opening, and increase exposure rate at the radiologic technologist. Hence we confirmed that a radiologic technologist probably overexposed if the door is open during the radiography. It was also confirmed by the Monte Carlo simulation that the exposure rate could be reduced up to approximately 1/100 by change only the door opening direction. In conclusion, since the proper door opening direction provides same shielding effect whether it is open or close, the door opening direction need to be considered when it is installed at radiography facilities.
The radiation source used for non-destructive testing have permeability and cause a scattered radiation through collisions of surrounding materials, which causes changes in the surrounding spatial dose. Therefore, this study attempted to evaluate and analyze the distribution of spatial dose by source in the working environment during the non-destructive test using monte carlo simulation. In this study, Using FLUKA, a simulation code, simulates 60Co, 192Ir, and 75Se source used in non-destructive testing, The reliability of the source term was secured by comparing the calculated dose rate with the data of the Health and Physics Association. After that, a non-destructive test in the radiation safety facility(RT-room) was designed to evaluate the spatial dose according to the distance from the source. As a result of the spatial dose evaluation, 75Se source showed the lowest dose distribution in the frontal position and 60Co source showed a dose rate of about 15 times higher than that of 75Se and about 2 times higher than that of 192Ir. In addition, the spatial dose according to the distance tends to decrease according to the distance inverse square law as the distance from the source increases. Exceptionally, 60Co, 192Ir, and 75Se sources confirmed a slight increase within 2 m of position. Based on the results of this study, it is believed that it will be used as supplementary data for safety management of workers in radiation safety facilities during non-destructive testing using radioactive isotopes.
The application of breast cancer, which has the highest incidence in females among cancer that is the number one cause of death for dogs, was to be evaluated the absorbed dose during brachytherapy using simulation. MCNPX program was used for simulation, and a small size canine phantom was produced to measure absorbed dose. The results of the absorbed dose was the highest at 192Ir to 1.02E-12 Gy/# for tumors, and the same tendency was shown for internal and external absorbed dose. Therefore, the selection of appropriate sources for dog breast cancer should be considered in brachytherapy, taking into account dog breeds and exposures.
A model for radiological dose assessment in an urban environment, METRO-K has been developed. Characteristics of the model are as follows ; 1) mathematical structures are simple (i.e. simplified input parameters) and easy to understand due to get the results by analytical methods using experimental and empirical data, 2) complex urban environment can easily be made up using only 5 types of basic surfaces, 3) various remediation measures can be applied to different surfaces by evaluating the exposure doses contributing from each contamination surface. Exposure doses contributing from each contamination surface at a particular location of a receptor were evaluated using the data library of kerma values as a function of gamma energy and contamination surface. A kerma data library was prepared fur 7 representative types of Korean urban buildings by extending those data given for 4 representative types of European urban buildings. Initial input data are daily radionuclide concentration in air and precipitation, and fraction of chemical type. Final outputs are absorbed dose rate in air contributing from the basic surfaces as a function of time following a radionuclide deposition, and exposure dose rate contributing from various surfaces constituting the urban environment at a particular location of a receptor. As the result of a contaminative scenario for an apartment built-up area, exposure dose rates show a distinct difference for surrounding environment as well as locations of a receptor.
This study aims to analyze the secondary carcinogenesis rate caused by exposure of organs at risk of damage using a glass dosimeter during radiosurgery in vestibular schwannoma disease. Using a pediatric phantom of human tissue equivalent material, the volume of the tumor was set to a total of three volumes: 0.506 cm3, 1.008 cm3, and 2.032 cm3, and a radiosurgery plan was established with an average dose of 18.4 ± 3.4 Gy. After mounting the human body phantom on the table of surgical equipment, glass dosimeters were placed on the right eye, left eye, thyroid gland, thymus, right lung, and left lung to measure the exposure dose, respectively. In this study, the incidence of secondary cancer due to exposure to damaged organs during gamma knife radiosurgery in vestibular schwannoma disease with the largest tumor volume of 2.032 cm3 was measured with a glass dosimeter. This study studies the risk of secondary radiation exposure dose that can occur during stereotactic radiosurgery, and it is considered that it will be used as basic data in the field of radiation damage related to the stochastic effect of radiation in the future.
The radiation protection measures for the photoneutrons are one of the most important issue of radiation safety in high energy X-ray facilities. When the photoneutrons are released from the facility, the general public as well as occupational workers are exposed to unexpected radiations by neutron skyshine effect. In this study, the photoneutron inventory are calculated using monte carlo mothed, and the neutron skyshine dose rate is assessed using the inventory. A 9MeV X-ray cargo inspection facility is considered as a reference facility.
