  • Typically welded bellows are checked with human eye and microscope, and then go through leakage test of gas. The proposed system alternates these heuristic techniques using support vector machines. Image procedures in the proposed method can cover the irregularity problem induced from human being. To get easy observation through microscope, 3D display system is also exploited. Experimental results from this automatic measurement show the welding detection is done within one tenth of permitted error range.

  • Sentimental analysis begins with the search for words that determine the sentimentality inherent in data. Managers can understand market sentimentality by analyzing a number of relevant sentiment words which consumers usually tend to use. In this study, we propose exploring performance of feature selection methods embedded with Particle Swarm Optimization Multi Objectives Evolutionary Algorithms. The performance of the feature selection methods was benchmarked with machine learning classifiers such as Decision Tree, Naive Bayesian Network, Support Vector Machine, Random Forest, Bagging, Random Subspace, and Rotation Forest. Our empirical results of opinion mining revealed that the number of features was significantly reduced and the performance was not hurt. In specific, the Support Vector Machine showed the highest accuracy. Random subspace produced the best AUC results.

  • This paper proposes an effective fire detection approach that includes the following multiple heterogeneous algorithms: moving region detection using grey level histograms, color segmentation using fuzzy c-means clustering (FCM), feature extraction using a grey level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM), and fire classification using support vector machine (SVM). The proposed approach determines the optimal threshold values based on grey level histograms in order to detect moving regions, and then performs color segmentation in the CIE LAB color space by applying the FCM. These steps help to specify candidate regions of fire. We then extract features of fire using the GLCM and these features are used as inputs of SVM to classify fire or non-fire. We evaluate the proposed approach by comparing it with two state-of-the-art fire detection algorithms in terms of the fire detection rate (or percentages of true positive, PTP) and the false fire detection rate (or percentages of true negative, PTN). Experimental results indicated that the proposed approach outperformed conventional fire detection algorithms by yielding 97.94% for PTP and 4.63% for PTN, respectively.

  • This paper proposes an algorithm using vibration signals and texture analysis for mechanical fault diagnosis of an induction motor. We analyze characteristics of contrast and pattern of an image converted from vibration signal and extract three texture features using gray-level co-occurrence model(GLCM). Then, the extracted features are used as inputs of a multi-level support vector machine(MLSVM) which utilizes the radial basis function(RBF) kernel function to classify each fault type. In addition, we evaluate the classification performance with varying the parameter from 0.3 to 1.0 for the RBF kernel function of MLSVM, and the proposed algorithm achieved 100% classification accuracy with the parameter of the RBF from 0.3 to 1.0. Moreover, the proposed algorithm achieved about 98% classification accuracy with 15dB and 20dB noise inserted vibration signals.

  • There is an increasing tendency to try to make predictive analysis using measurement data based on machine learning techniques in the railway industries. In this paper, it was predicted that Track quality index (TQI) using vehicle acceleration data based on the machine learning method. The XGB (XGBoost) was the most accurate with 85% in the all data sets. Unlike the SVM model with a single algorithm, the RF and XGB model with a ensemble system were considered to be good at the prediction performance. In the case of the Surface TQI, it is shown that the acceleration of the z axis is highly related to the vertical direction and is in good agreement with the previous studies. Therefore, it is appropriate to apply the model with the ensemble algorithm to predict the track quality index using the vehicle vibration acceleration data because the accuracy may vary depending on the applied model in the machine learning methods.

  • Much research has been done using the KDDCup99 data set to study intrusion detection using artificial intelligence. Previous studies have shown that the performance of the SMO (SVM) algorithm is superior. However, intrusion detection studies of new intrusion types not used in training are insufficient. In this paper, a model was created using the instances of weka's SMO and KDDCup99 training data set, kddcup.data.gz. We tested existing instances(292,300) of the corrected.gz file and new intrusions(18,729). In general, intrusion labels not used in training are not tested, so new intrusion labels were changed to normal. Of the 18,729 new intrusions, 1,827 were classified as intrusions. 1,827 instances classified as new intrusions are buffer_overflow. • Recently, applying artificial intelligence technologies in various fields of production has drawn an upsurge of research interest due to the increase for smart factory and artificial intelligence technologies. A great deal of effort is being made to introduce artificial intelligence algorithms into the defect detection task. Particularly, detection of defects on the surface of metal has a higher level of research interest compared to other materials (wood, plastics, fibers, etc.). In this paper, we compare and analyze the speed and performance of defect classification by combining machine learning techniques (Support Vector Machine, Softmax Regression, Decision Tree) with dimensionality reduction algorithms (Principal Component Analysis, AutoEncoders) and two convolutional neural networks (proposed method, ResNet). To validate and compare the performance and speed of the algorithms, we have adopted two datasets ((i) public dataset, (ii) actual dataset), and on the basis of the results, the most efficient algorithm is determined.
