  • This study targets ten titles of Hangul banggakbon novels in the Harvard Yenching Library to examine the bibliography, system, and characteristics. Among the ten titles, gyeongpanbon Guunmong, Leehaeryongjeon, Chunhyangjeon, Janggyeongjeon, two titles of Sodaeseongjeon, Honggildongjeon, anseongpanbon Yangpungunjeon, and two titles of wanpanbon Hwaryongdo have been found in Korea, too. However, gyeongpanbon Chunhyangjeon, 30 jangbon of Hyogyosingan(孝橋新刊), and wanpanbon Hwaryongdo seogyeseopobon are the ones that can be hardly found in Korea, and the library has possessed it there so far. With the two titles of Hangul banggakbon novels, it will be needed to reexamine the aspects of publishing Hangul banggakbon novels afterwards. Hangul banggakbon novels that Harvard-Yenching Library has now are mostly the ones that can be easily found in Korea, too. It is because the data started to be collected from the 1950's. In comparison with the materials in England, Russia, or Japan in the early 1890's, there are no rare books that cannot be found in Korea. The reason for this may be found from this.

  • Four different brands of commercial and a home-made jujube tea were analyzed for physicochemical properties (sugar content, acidity, color, viscosity, transparency, texture) and sensory characteristics by using 7-point scoring test from 18 experienced panel members. Also, the opinion of food and nutrition specialists on the commercial jujube teas were assessed using a questionnaire, which were hand-delivered to 530 subjects consisting of university students and faculties of Department of Food and Nutrition at 8 cities(Seoul, Incheon, Youngin. Taejon, Chungju, Taegu, Kwangiu, Pusan) in Korea and the complete data of 328 subjects were statistically analyzed using SPSS Program for Window. The questionnaire consisted of socio-demographics, frequency and occasion of purchasing, opinion of quality and improvement points, and sensory characteristics. Commercial jujube teas (3 different brand) were lower in sugar content, pH, transparency, color (Hunter L, a and b value), and viscosity than the home-made one, whereas only one brand was higher in viscosity and lower in transparency than home-made one. Also, overall preference for commercial jujube teas was significantly love. than that for home-made one (p<0.05). Especially, the scores of overall preference for 3 commercial jujube teas (2.1-3.3) were much lower than that of home-made one (6.1). Points to be improved for commercial jujube teas were indicated as the amount of jujube (30.0%), taste (23.8%), sweetness (22.0%), and flavor (14.4%) in order. Sensory attributes showing positive correlations with overall preference of jujube tea were the taste(0.566), amount of jujube(0.449), and flavor(0.335).

  • When product or service provides unexpectedness the user would be satisfied, and lately some mobile applications and web services provide those unexpectedness. However, unexpectedness itself can make negative effects such as decrease of the ease of use, still studies about mobile application are focused on satisfaction from the usability. Therefore, we would study experimentally user experience changes caused by unexpectedness using serendipity in mobile application UX, and observe how those changes to affect to user satisfaction. In other words, we observed the relationship between factors such as the unexpectedness caused by interactions of mobile application, the serendipity provided game, perceived newness, perceived ease of use, perceived usability, and satisfaction. As a result, the serendipity has positive effect to the perceived newness and negative effect to the perceived ease of use, and perceived newness and perceived ease of use affect to perceived usability positively, and all three factors are have positive effects to the use satisfaction.

  • Since information scientists have begun trying to quantify significant research trends in scientific publications, '-metrics' research such as 'bibliometrics', 'scientometrics', 'informetrics', 'webometrics', and 'citation analysis' have been identified as crucial areas of information science. To illustrate the dynamic research activities in these areas, this study investigated the major contributors of '-metrics' research for the last decade at three levels: nations, institutions, and documents. '-metrics' literature of this study was obtained from the Science Citation Index for the years 2001-2011. In this analysis, we used Pathfinder network, PNNC algorithm, PageRank and several indicators based on h-index. In terms of international collaborations, USA and England were identified as major countries. At the institutional level, Katholieke University, Leuven and the University of Amsterdam in Europe and Indiana University and the Office of Naval Research in the USA have led co-research projects in informetrics areas. At the document level, Hirsch's h-index paper and Ingwersen's web impact factor paper were identified as the most influential work by two methods: PageRank and single paper h-index.

  • This paper reviews the Interpretative Guidelines on EU passenger rights regulations in the context of the developing situation with COVID-19 of EU commission. To enlighten the obscurity and to mitigate the economic impacts of the COVID-19, European Commission has published "Interpretative Guidelines on EU passenger rights regulations in the context of the developing situation with Covid-19" on March 18, 2020. The Guideline essentially aims to create a coherent system of rules to assist the passengers, industry and national authorities overall under the unprecedented circumstances across the European Union. To do so, the Guideline is drafted to cover the rights of passengers travelling by air, rail, ship or bus/coach, maritime and inland waterways, as well as the corresponding obligations for carriers. From an aviation industry focused perspective, by referencing the Regulation (EC) numbered 261/2004, the Guideline specifically applies to cancellation and delay in flights which are seen as the dark spots for the air carriers concerning potential burdens.

  • In this paper, we propose a system for generating skeleton programs for directly transforming an XML document to another document, whose structure is defined in the target DTD with GUI environment. With the generated code, the users can easily update or insert their own codes into the program so that they can convert the document as the way that they want and can be connected with other classes or library files. Since most of the currently available code generation systems or methods for transforming XML documents use XSLT or XQuery, it is very difficult or impossible for users to manipulate the source code for further updates or refinements. As the generated code in this paper reveals the code along the XPaths of the target DTD, the result code is quite readable. The code generating procedure is simple; once the user maps the related elements represented as trees in the GUI interface, the source document is transformed into the target document and its corresponding Java source program is generated, where DTD is given or extracted from XML documents automatically by parsing it. The mapping is classified 1:1, 1:N, and N:1, according to the structure and semantics of elements of the DTD. The functions for changing the structure of elements designated by the user are amalgamated into the metadata interface. A real world example of transforming articles written in XML file into a bibliographical XML document is shown with the transformed result and its code.

  • In Korean academic societies, old maps has not yet been properly investigated in terms of their genealogy, classification, detailed place names, historical backgrounds and the other aspects. With publication of the bibliographies and papers on old maps reserved in museum and library, the scope of research enlarged gradually its scope from 1970s. In 1980s, with the development of theoretical geography, scientific analysis were applied to investigate the projection method of Daedongyeo-jido. The 1990s proved a prominent decade for researches. The photo-copies of old maps enabled researchers to investigate the in-depth comparative study. The more important thing is that old maps became to be powerful instrument in the research of historical geography, such as territorial disputes and marine name(東海). And county old maps compiled by region became to be regional-cultural contents of local areas. Important issues in old map research in Korean academic societies are about Cheonha-do which is unique old world map in Korea, grid-system projection in old county maps and the genealogy of Daedongyeo-jido(manuscript and block print edition). This study shows that bibliography of all old maps preserved in each library and museum should be standardized. This could enable the exchange of information of old maps between institutes. The more important thing is that conciliation of human, social and natural sciences should be applied in the research of old maps.

  • Responses of plankton populations to nutrient enrichment in mesocosm experiments in Shihwa lake were simulated using FVCOM. Dissoloved oxygen module was added to the FVCOM to simulate impacts of its decreased levels. The ecological model included the major components of the pelagic ecosystem including nutrients, phytoplankton (pico-, nano-, micro-), zooplankton (two groups of protozoa, mesozooplankton), particulate organic matter, dissolved organic matter and bacteria, and was calibrated using trophodynamic data collected from Gyeonggi Bay and Shihwa Lake. The model was able to reproduce major responses of plankton populations to nutrient enrichment, including phytoplankton of different size groups, change of dominance of protozoa from < 20 ${\mu}m$ oligotrichs to scuticociliates, and reponses to bacteria and low levels of dissolved oxygen in water column of the mesocosms.

  • References at the end of an academic paper are information that helps authors keep their research ethics, readers refer to related prior studies. Also references are useful information for linking citations and citations between articles. As bibliography metrics develops, bibliographic data is used as an important data for assessing the academic influence of countries, institutions and individual researchers. However, it is not easy to identify and link the reference data due to the diversity of the bibliographic citation formats, the loss of information due to the abbreviation of journal names and author names, and typos by authors. This study investigated the method of improving the bibliographic data mapping rate by analyzing the unmapped cases. As a result, it was found that the main cause of the article-reference mapping failure was the similarity of abbreviated journal names. Research team suggested that continuous management of journal title authority data and improving the DOI registration rate as ways to improve the identification and mapping rate. This study is differentiated from other studies in used database. Bibliography mapping was attempted for domestic and foreign integrated journal database that is mainly subscribed, used, published and cited in Korea. Through reference construction volume and mapping rate improvement, it can be used as citation analysis and service database reflecting domestic situation that is different from overseas citation index database.

  • This study examined a correspondence of children's anticipated vocations, perceived competencies, and interests. For the purpose, this study asked 659 primary school students what activities they liked, those they thought they were good at, and what job they expected when they grew up. The responses were coded into RIASEC Holland codes and agreement across the three questions was examined using kappa statistics. Results indicated that there was a correspondence of children's anticipated vocations, perceived competencies, and interests. When broken down into separate examinations by gender, males and females had significant kappas for agreement between vocation and competence. And the correspondence of competence and interest was significant for males too. We couldn't examine females' case because they didn't answer C-type of Holland. Examinations of the results by grade demonstrated that 5th-grade and 6th-grade had significant kappas for agreement between vocation and competence. However the correspondence of vocation and interest was significant for 5th-grade. the correspondence of competence and interest was significant for 5th-grade too. We couldn't examine 6th-grade's case because they didn't answer C-type of Holland. The result obtained from this study indicate that there is a correspondence of children's anticipated vocations, perceived competencies, and interests. Such a result means that children, 5th-grade and 6th-grade, can consider their competencies and interests with their vocations. The findings are especially relevant for counselors and teachers working with children.
