  • The focus of this paper is the determines of asymmetric cooperation between the European Union(and EC) and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK). By analyzing the varying degree of cooperation and conflict by the EU and the DPRK, it argues that the outcomes of the asymmetric cooperation and conflict can be fully explained by the domestic and international variables.

  • This research is to examine the impacts of the on-going global financial crisis on the housing systems of welfare states. Four developed economies in the Western Europe were selected for the analysis, and the qualitative research employed in-depth interviews with scholars in the fields of housing market and social policy in order to meet the research goal. The major findings indicate that the global economic crisis embedded into the liberalization of housing finance and the inadequacy of regulatory measures caused the vicissitude of housing markets, and its scale and magnitude could be determined by the resilience of each state's housing system. While the globalization of housing finance markets rendered easy borrowing for homeownership, intensive competition for excessive lending among financial institutions backed by heavy reliance on inter-bank and overall bank triggered market volatility, and further worsened household and public debts. It's clearly evident that a housing system with varied safety nets becomes a greater cushion to bear the risks of the financial crisis and to weather the economic storm.

  • 2015년부터 우리나라는 온실가스 배출량 감소를 위해 교토의정서에서 제시한 메커니즘 중 탄소배출권 거래 제도를 도입하였다. 시장개념이 기본인 탄소배출권 거래 제도를 도입함으로써 온실가스 배출량을 더욱 경제적이고 효율적으로 감축할 것으로 기대되고 있다. 이미 선진국들은 온실가스 배출량을 감소시키기 위한 여러 움직임들을 보이고 있으며 특히 배출권 거래 제도는 유럽을 중심으로 활성화 되었다. 이와 동시에 신재생에너지의 보급을 통하여 전력 발전부문에서 큰 감축효과를 얻게 되었다. 하지만 2008년 서유럽으로부터 시작된 유럽지역 경제악화는 배출권 제도의 예상치 못한 단점을 보여주는 사례가 되었다. 이와 다르게 미국의 경우 배출권 제도가 아닌 전원구성변화를 통해 비교적 안정적으로 온실가스 배출량을 줄였다. 기존 기저 발전원을 담당하던 원전과 석탄화력 발전을 대체하기 위하여 가스발전의 활성화를 도입하였고, 온실가스의 배출량을 8년 사이에 약 16억톤을 감소시켰다. 이에 본문에서는 탄소배출권 거래 제도의 도입과 동시에 전원구성변화가 이루어졌다고 가정하여 탄소 배출권 가격을 고려하였을 때 계통운영비용에 어떠한 영향이 있는지 탄소 배출량에 따른 가격을 통하여 알아보았다.

RUSSian avant-gard artists gave lessons about the new didactics of the Vchutemas on the principals of ConstructiVism and Functlonlsm. They Influenced the Bauhaus school and western european designs.

인도 항만물류시설 투자유망지역 평가

  • 인도는 2014년 모디 정부 출범 이후 부정부패 척결, 기업환경 개선, 적극적인 외자유치 등의 경제개방 및 개혁정책을 추진하는 들 높은 경제성장 잠재력을 보유하고 있다. 인도의 면적은 329만 $km^2$로 서유럽 면적과 비슷하고, 인구는 중국에 이어 세계에서 두 번째 많은 약 13억 명으로 높은 생산 소비 잠재력을 가지고 있다. 모디 정부 출범 이후 전 정부 대비 인프라 개발 예산을 4배 이상 배정했고, 주요 항만 개발 및 제조업 육성에 힘쓰고 있다. 그러나 아직까지 인도 시장에 대한 우리나라의 해운 항만 물류기업 진출 및 투자 지원에 관한 체계적인 연구는 미흡한 실정이다. 따라서 인도에 진출하는 우리나라 화주기업 및 물류기업의 물류 애로사항 해소 지원, 해운 물류기업의 경쟁력 강화 등 정부차원의 다양한 정책과 지원 사업에 관한 연구가 필요하다. 그러므로 본 연구는 인도시장에 진출하는 우리나라 물류 기업의 항만 물류시설 투자 후보지에 대한 정성적 정량적 분석을 통해 투자유망지역을 선정하는 것이 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 인도의 경제 및 교역, 물류시설 및 관련 정책 등의 현황 조사를 실시한다. 그리고 우리나라 물류기업 진출 시 투자가 유망할 것으로 예상되는 지역을 대상으로 정성적 정량적 분석을 통해 투자유망지역을 선정하려 한다.

An Empirical Study on the Consumption Risk Sharing across the EU Regions (EU 지역간 소비위험분산에 대한 실증연구)

  • By measuring the consumption risk sharing for the EU regions, we evaluate the performance of various risk sharing channels for the EU. We identify which countries are likely to form the highest risk sharing group among the EU regions by using the DFFITS and DFBETAS diagnostics derived in a statistical regression. Our finding suggests that most western European countries seem to display homogeneous degree of risk sharing. In addition, our result confirms that high risk sharing regions as well as low risk sharing regions are mainly located in many eastern European countries that joined the EU later than western European countries, and implies that the EU members are still dichotomized at large in terms of consumption risk sharing.

An Iterative Approach to the Estimation of CO2 Abatement Costs (방향성 벡터 일반화를 통한 이산화탄소의 한계저감비용 연구)

  • This study proposes an iterative approach to the estimation of the marginal abatement costs of undesirable outputs by computing the slope of the efficient production possibilities frontier on the basis of the efficient projection points generated by the directional output distance function approach due to Fare et al. (2005) based on duality theory. In case of the latter methodology, the estimated marginal abatement costs differ significantly depending on the choice of the directional output vector. In addition, depending on the curvature of the underlying PPF the efficient projection points may be located at a significant distance away from their actually observed counterparts. While it would be more logical to estimate marginal abatement costs as a PPF slope at a point corresponding to the actually observed emissions level, the methodology based on duality theory is likely to produce unstable results due to the problems associated with applying the theorem of implicit function differentiation. Since our methodology is not based on duality theory, our results are immune to both of these problems. We apply our methodology to a sample of Western European countries for the period of 1995-2011 to illustrate our approach.

  • The term ton is widely used as the unit of the ship's size nowadays. Before people accepted the term ton as the unit of the ship's size, the various terms had been used for indicating the ship's size. For examples, the term ton was used in Western Europe, last in Northern Europe, cantara in Geneva, milliaria in Venice, and carra in Naple. In Asia the rice had been the most important cargo for many centuries. So the term SEOK in Korean or SHI in Chinese was used as the unit of the ship's size. Especially the Chinese used the term LIAO or RYO in Korean for indicating the ship's size. As above seen, the different terms had been used for showing the ship's size from places to places. But with the introduction of Moorsom's Tonnage Measurement in the 19th century and its spread to all over the world, the term ton was become the only unit of ship's size.

Competitive Ability and Allelopathy of Ericaceous Plants as Potential Causes of Conifer Regeneration Failures (Ericaceous식물의 allelopathy와 경쟁력에 의한 침엽수 갱신 저해)

  • Certain ericaceous understory plants of temperate forests proliferate following forest clearcutting and fire. Rapid vegetative growth of these plants may affect conifer regeneration due to their strong competitive abilities and allelopathic properties. Planted conifers in these shrub-dominated habitats experience "growth check" which may result in a loss of productivity or in extreme cases total failure of forest regeneration. This growth check phenomenon is exemplified in Calluna Sitca spruce Scots pine ecosystems of western Europe, Kalmia black spruce ecosystem of eastern Canada and Gaultheria-cedar/hemlock ecosystem of the Pacific Northwest of the United States. Dynamics of Kalmia black spruce ecosystem following disturbance was used to explain the mechanism of conifer growth inhibition and their regeneration failure. It is argued that in addition to competition for nutrients, Kalmia allelopathy plays a major role in growth inhibition of black spruce. This conclusion is supported by the results of various field, laboratory and greenhouse experiments. Eight phenolic compounds were isolated and identified from the leaves of Kalmia angustifolia, four of which are known to be highly phyotoxic to black spruce. Methods of overcoming the allelopathic effects of Kalmia in order to enhance black spruce regeneration in Kalmia-dominated sites are discussed.
