This study analyzes the processes and the needs of public library services for multicultural populations based on cooperation between public libraries and local organizations. In-depth interviews with public librarians and officers of local organizations were conducted for this case study. Result shows that cooperation was inevitable because there was not enough library personnel compared to the amount of services they have to provide, and the librarians did not have proper skills to serve the diverse populations. Public libraries were cooperating with many local organizations including the Multicultural Family Support Center. Gatekeepers of ethnic communities were playing important roles in promoting and inviting participants for library programs. Many children and young adults with immigration background gained positive views on reading and libraries after participating library programs based on cooperation between public libraries and local organizations, which was recognized as the best achievement of cooperation by many interviewees. Despite many good results of cooperation, how to get to the majority of diverse populations who are not library users yet is still a question mark. Interviewees for this study all agreed that current library service has limitations and insisted a whole new method to invite immigrants and their families to public libraries should be created.

Generalized Processor Sharing(GPS) model provides instantaneous fair services to currently backlogged sessions. Since this fair service distributes server capacity to backlogged sessions in proportion to their weights, the fairness is only valid between the sessions serviced at the same time. From the long time view, however, this fair service provides different server capacity with one session or another, even if these sessions have the same weights. This paper proposes a cumulative fair service(CFS) model to provide fair server capacity to all sessions in the long time view. This model provides fair service in session Viewpoint because it distributes server capacity in proportion to the weights of sessions. The model and an algorithm referencing that model are analyzed for their properties and performances. Performance evaluations verify that the proposed algorithm provides proportional service capacity to sessions in the long time view.

공급체인관리(Supply Chain Management)는 단순히 물질의 흐름관리뿐만 아니라 제품의 생산, 공급, 유통 등 다양하고 복잡한 활동들의 물질 및 정보 흐름의 통합이라고 할 수 있다. 그러므로 각 구성원간의 긴밀한 협력과 공동작업을 위해서는 원활한 정보 수집 및 응답이 요구된다. 하지만 기존 시스템은 비이동성 에이전트 개념으로 네트워크의 오버헤드나 혹은 접속 단절 상황에서 작업 수행이 불가능하여 구성원간의 정보 수집과 응답이 실제 업무 처리에 지연이 발생되므로 생산에서 판매까지의 리드타임이 길어지게 되고 채찍효과(Bullwhip Effect)가 더욱 크게 나타난다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 구성원간 협력과 공동작업을 위해 효율적으로 처리되어야 할 정보 수집 및 응답을 대상으로 하는 효율적 다중 응답을 위한 이동 에이전트 시스템을 설계한다. 제안시스템은 기존 시스템의 문제 해결을 위해 이동 에이전트와 객체 복제 메커니즘을 제시하며, 또한 각 구성원 시스템의 투명성을 위해 네이밍 서비스의 구성 방법과 등록된 구성원 시스템 객체의 객체 참조자 정보에 따라 복제된 이동 에이전트가 각 구성원 시스템으로 이주하는 이주 방식과 이주 후, 개별적인 작업 수행 결과를 해당 각 구성원 시스템에 제공하는 다중 응답 시나리오를 제시한다.

When various work was given from user, the existing mobile agent model migrated from node to node and process the work at the point that much traffics according to passive routing schedule are happened, until it makes service the work result, time cost of round work process for the distributed nodes are increased. Therefore, the existing agent systems need migration method to solve the problems of agent size increment or a lack of interoperability among agent systems. To solve these problems in this thesis, we design and implement an CORBA-based Mobile Agent Model(CMAM) for the efficient work process into the distributed nodes, when the mobile agents are migrated among the nodes, using an optimal path search by sensing of network traffic.

The study aims at understanding current states and problems for multi-cultural families in libraries. The study examined multicultural services in Korean libraries as well as overseas. The study analyzed library services and education problems of multicultural families based on multicultural model, assimilationist model, and differential exclusionary model. The study surveyed multi-cultural services librarians and educators as well as immigrants and children who have participated in multicultural problems, and finally analyzed problems and requirements of programs for multicultural families.

현재 홈 네트워크 환경은 각 디바이스들을 위한 독립적인 서비스 보다 모든 디바이스를 통합관리 지원하는 지능적인 홈 오토메이션 서비스로 발전하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 사용자의 신원확인만으로 댁내의 모든 디바이스들을 사용자 개인의 특성에 맞게 자동 제어할 수 있는 지능형 홈 오토메이션 시스템을 제안한다. 등록된 사용자의 정의된 규칙을 이용하여 가정내의 모든 디바이스들을 자동 제어한 수 있는 조건기반엔진을 설계하여 모든 디바이스를 독립적으로 제어하는 방식을 보완함으로써 지능적인 서비스를 사용자에게 제공할 수 있다.

Content services for silver users on the ubiquitous technologies are getting attention as a new business model, monitoring users in real-time on the real-world and/or cyber-world. A lot of business and service model have been developed to apply silver or elder user. This study explained a state-of-the-art silver IT service to innovative services for users, ranging from home and finance to support for healthcare and living. Due to the variation of subtle terminologies, this study was conducted to restructure an adaptive terminology including some definitions. Current silver IT service model has been evaluated from the technical, functional, and business analyst, and its suitability has also been expressed in a proposed model and service. The purpose of this study was to propose a systematic approach of new IT service business model for silver users. A proposed model was described to explain the feasibility of the silver IT industry.

인터넷이 생활의 일부로 자리매김 하면서 정보 검색, 뉴스, 영화, 쇼핑, 커뮤니티, 블로그 등의 여러 종류의 서비스가 일상에서 활용되고 있다. 따라서 향후 인터넷 쇼핑 서비스 방향에 대한 인사이트를 얻기 위해서는 단순히 쇼핑몰 자체에 대한 이해가 아니라, 사용자들의 일상 속에서 인터넷 쇼핑을 할 때 인터넷을 어떤 상황에서 사용하고, 인터넷 쇼핑을 위해 어떤 서비스와 정보들을 이용하고 있는지, 이들은 어떤 방법으로 사용하고 있는지에 대한 이해가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 사람들이 인터넷 쇼핑을 할 때 어떤 쇼핑 과정을 거치고, 인터넷의 다양한 정보와 도구를 어떻게 이용하는지를 문화인류학적 방법인 필드 스터디를 통해 알아보고자 한다. 이를 위해 다이어리 스터디와 현장 방문 인터뷰를 실시하여 사용자들의 일상 속에서의 인터넷을 이용한 쇼핑 행위를 관찰하였고, 이를 통해 인터넷 쇼핑과정 및 이때 이용되는 도구를 규명하였다.

IPv6는 IPv4의 단점을 보완한 차세대 인터넷 프로토콜이다. IPv6 헤더는 플로우 레이블 필드를 제공하여 레이블 값에 따라 차등적인 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 기반을 갖추었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 레이블의 용도 외에 레이블을 이용한 포워딩 방법을 제안한다. 레이블을 이용한 포워딩은 기존의 MPLS 와 유사한 방식으로 이루어진다. 두 방법의 차이점은, 첫째 MPLS는 속도를 빠르게 하기 위하여 대부분의 스위칭이 2 계층에서 이루어지지만 플로우 레이블을 이용한 방법은 3 계층에서 처리된다. 둘째, 패킷에 플로우 레이블을 기록할 때 기존의 IPv6 헤더 필드를 이용하기 때문에 MPLS에서와 같이 별도의 헤더가 필요치 않다. 또한, 레이블과 플로우에 대한 서비스 정보를 매핑시킬 경우 좀더 수월하게 차등적 서비스를 지원할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 IPv6 레이블 포워딩을 구현해서 실험한 실험 망과 현재 리눅스 커널(2.2.X)상에서 구현되어있는 IPv6의 포워딩 구조, 그리고 구현된 플로우 레이블 포워딩에 대하여 논한다.

URC(Ubiquitous Robotic Companion)는 기존로봇에 네트워크 및 정보 기술을 접목한 지능형 서비스 로봇의 새로운 개념으로서, 언제, 어디서나 나와 함께하며, 나에게 필요한 서비스를 제공하는 네트워크 기반 로봇이다. URC 개념이 구현되기 위해서는 유비퀴터스 네트워크 또는 센서 네트워크, 고성능 로봇용 서버 등과 같은 하드웨어 인프라가 구축되어 있어야 하며, 이러한 인프라 상에서 구동되는 소프트웨어 인프라가 필요하다. 소프트웨어 로봇은 이러한 소프트웨어 인프라에 해당하며, '유비퀴터스 네트워크 환경에서 언제 어디서나 상황에 맞는 정보와 서비스를 능동적으로 제공하는 새로운 개념의 지능형 소프트 웨어'이다. 본 고에서는 이러한 소프트웨어 로봇의 개념과 이 개념을 지원하기 위한 시스템에 대해 논의 한다.
