Services in SOA are typically perceived as black-box to service consumers, and can be dynamically evolved at runtime, and run on a number of unknown and heterogeneous environments. Because of these characteristics of the services, effective and efficient monitoring of various aspects on services is an essential functionality for autonomous management of service. But the problem with or limitation in conventional or existing approaches is, that they focus on services themselves, ignoring the effects by business processes. Consequently, there is a room for service monitoring which provides more useful information of business level by acquisition of only external monitoring data that depend on specific BPEL engine and middleware. Moreover, there is a strong demand to present effective methods to reduce monitoring overhead which can degrade quality of services. EDA can cope with such limitations in SOA by collecting and analyzing events efficiently. In this paper, we first describe EDA benefits in service monitoring, and classify monitorring target, and present an appropriate monitoring method for each monitoring target. Also to provide the applicability of our approach, an event meta-model is defined, and event processing model and architecture based on the meta-model are proposed. And, with the proposed architecture and method, we implement a prototype of an event-driven dynamic monitoring framework which can collect and process internal and external data at runtime. Finally, we present the result of a case study to demonstrate the effectiveness and applicability of the proposed approach.

IDC는 기업 및 개인 고객에게 전산 설비나 네트워크 설비를 유치하여 유지·보수 등의 서비스를 제공하는 곳으로, 서버 장비 및 통신장비의 운영과 관리를 대행하여 서버의 안정성, 보안성과 서버가 제공하는 서비스의 품질을 유지해 주는 시설이다. 하지만 학교나 일부기업에서는 자신들의 고유 서비스를 위해 호스트를 자신들의 NOC(Network Operation Center)에 놓아두게 되고, 그러면 IDC에서 지원하는 다양한 관리 서비스를 제공받지 못한다. 본 논문에서는 웹 기반 IDC 관리형 인터넷 서비스 모니터링 및 관리시스템의 구조를 제안하고 시스템을 구현한다. 웹에서 효과적인 모니터링 및 관리를 위하여 JAVA 기반의 설계를 하였으며, 인터넷 서비스에 대한 효율적인 관리를 위하여 ICMP 프로콜을 사용하였다. 제안된 시스템을 이용하여 원격지의 서버의 상태나 인터넷 서비스의 전반적인 상태를 일정하게 유지하며, 웹을 기반으로 하여 모니터링 및 관리를 할 수 있다. 중요 기능은 데이터의 주기적인 수집과, 수집된 정보를 데이터 베이스에 저장함으로써 네트워크의 상태 변화에 대한 지속적인 관찰이 가능하다. 또한 시스템에 어떤 문제가 발생하였다고 판단될 경우 효율적이고 신속한 대처가 이루어지도록 하기 위하여 관리자에게 보고서를 제출하게 된다.

서비스 산업의 비중이 날로 높아지는 시기에 마케팅 전략 수립에 있어서 차별화된 서비스 품질 제공이 더욱 중요하게 인식되고 있다. 감시카메라 등으로 사용되면서 문제점만 부각되고 있는 웹카메라를 감시나 보안 등의 목적 외에 차별화된 서비스 품질 제공의 수단으로 활 용되기 위한 연구가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 유치원/어린이집 학부모를 대상으로 웹캠에 의한 원격모니터링 서비스의 서비스 품질 구성요인에 대한 재구성 및 서비스 품질요인이 고객의 성향에 따라 어떻게 인식되는지에 대한 연구를 실시하였으며, 웹캠에 의한 서비스 품질 구성요인이 고객만족 및 고객충성도에 주는 영향요인을 규명하였다. 이러한 변수의 상관관계와 영향 현상을 연구하기 웹캠 원격모니터링 서비스를 사용하고 있는 유치원/어린이 집을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 연구결과 웹캠 모니터링 서비스 품질 구성요인을 영상품질 및 전송속도, 이동성 및 휴대성, 편의성, 가시성, 신뢰성으로 설정하였으며, 그 중 영상품질 및 전송속도가 고객만족 영향요인으로 나타났다. 이러한 서비스 품질 구성요인들을 고객이 인식함에 있어서 고객성향 중에서 디지털 기기 숙련도가 서비스 품질 인식에 영향을 주는 요인으로 나타났다. 그 외 인구통계학적 변인과 서비스 품질 구성요인들은 유의미하지 않은 것으로 분석되었는바, 이러한 결과가 마케팅적으로 어떻게 활용될 수 있는가가 논의된다.

UDDI server is the web services registry enabling users to register and search for web services. However, the existing UDDI servers do not provide any information about web services qualify. We designed and developed a UDDI broker system which actively monitors and analyses the qualify of web services. The analysis results are presented to users in statistical figures and graphs. With this information a user can select a web service that meets his/her needs. Availability, performance, and stability were the metrics used for the service qualify measurement and analysis.

본 논문은 최근 실시간 기업(RTE: Real-Time Enterprise)의 구현도구로 각광을 받고 있는 BPM(Business Process Management)이 신속하고 다양한 모니터링 및 분석을 제공할 수 있는 새로운 모니터링 기법을 소개한다. 본 논문의 방법론은 기존의 프로세스 모니터링 서비스의 한계를 극복하고 개인에 따라 차별화된 모니터링 환경을 제공한다. 제시된 모형은 모니터링 객체(monitoring objects), 분석 기법(analysis methods), 표현 양식(presentation styles), 모니터링 이벤트(audit events)의 네 가지 축에 따라 모니터링 구정 요소들을 분해하고, 분해된 개별 단위들을 사용자가 자유롭게 조합하여 모니터링 서비스를 구성할 수 있도록 한다. 이는 기업의 경영자가 실시간으로 경영성과를 확인하도록 하고 추후의 경영활동에 반영하도록 하는 실시간 기업의 환경을 구축하도록 한다.

As the web service technology matures. research is focused on the composite web services that combine individual web services within an enterprise or between enterprises. Quality of service is the critical competitiveness factor in this mature technology stage where there are many services with similar functionalities differing only in some non-functional properties. Monitoring is the key component for the service quality management of a web service. A service quality monitoring system design using a broker is presented in this paper. OWL-S is used to specify the composite service process and a service policy (inputs and outputs of each service, quality attributes and values, etc.) built by WS-Policy is applied to the composite service process. If there is any discrepancy between the service policy and the monitored data, the service provider and the user are notified of it so as to take necessary measures. We have implemented a travel reservation system as an example of the presented design and the experimental results are shown. Average response time was monitored and the timeout policy was applied in the experiment.

As the number and diversity of educational services increases rapidly on the Internet, we are faced with some service availability problems including persistent service monitoring and fault tolerancy. In this paper, we implemented a service monitoring & fault management system to enhance this availability and reduce administration cost of WBI system. In order to validate our system, we also illustrated an effective real-time monitoring and automatic fault announcement & recovery from our experiences in a real world WBI environment.

침입 예방 및 탐지 기술에 대해서는 많은 연구가 진행되어 왔으나 침입이 발생한 후, 즉 공격이 성공한 후에도 필수 서비스가 유지되도록 하는 침입감내 연구는 아직 초기 단계이며, 최근 빈번한 침해 사고로 인하여 시스템에 대한 침입이 발생한 상황 하에서도 특정 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 침입감내시스템에 대한 요구가 매우 높다. 본 논문에서는 침입감내시스템에서 필수 서비스를 지속적으로 유지하기 위해 요구되는 실시간 자원정보 모니터링 모듈을 구현했다. 본 모듈은 프로세스 정보, 하드웨어 정보, 메모리 사용량, CPU 사용량, 네트워크 송ㆍ수신량 등을 모니터링 해주며 이 정보들은 관리자에게 제공되어 필수서비스를 선택 유지하는데 필요한 중요 정보로 활용될 수 있다.

Open API는 기존 웹 서비스를 결합하여 새로운 서비스를 개발하는 최신의 방법이다. 본 논문에서는 RESTful 웹 서비스를 Open APT화 하여 그것을 이용한 모니터링 시스템 개발을 보인다. 본문의 개발 방법을 이용하는 경우 모니터링 시스템의 통합을 손쉽게 해결할 수 있으며, 차후 다른 시스템에 쉽게 결합시킬 수 있는 장점이 있다. 또한 축소된 호출 메시지 크기료 인해 서비스 제공 속도와 네트워크 대역 사용량에도 이점이 있다.

In this paper, we present the design and implementation of the interbed network communication protocol, which links patient monitors, central stations, DB servers, and clinical workstations together in a patient monitoring system. We describe the requirements to be met thor real-time patient monitoring, propose 2 services Patient Locator Service(PL:7) and Remote Patient Monitoring Service( RPMS). PLS provides the information about how many patients are currently being monitored and where they are located, while RPMS allows the doctors to monitor their patients'vital sign in real-time. The messages for the services, their formats and exchange scheme are also presented with a whole picture of how they are implemented. We adopted the object-oriented programming paradigm in all the analysis and design processes. In the experiment performed in a real clinical setting, the services turned out to meet all the requirements needed for real-time patient monitoring.
