Experimental Study on R-134a Evaporation Heat Transfer Characteristics in Plate and Shell Heat Exchanger (판각형 열교환기내의 R-134a 증발열전달 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • An experiment was carried out to investigate the characteristics of the evaporation heat transfer for refrigerant R-134a flowing in a plate and shell heat exchanger. The data are useful in designing more compact and effective evaporators for various refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Two vertical counterflow channels were formed in the exchanger. The R-134a flows up in one channel exchanging heat with the hot water flowing down in the other channel. The effects of the average heat flux, mass flux, saturation temperature and vapor quality were examined in detail. The present data show that the evaporation heat transfer coefficient increases with the vapor quality. A rise in the refrigerant mass flux causes an increase in the $h_r$ value. A rise in the average imposed heat flux causes an increase in the $h_r$, value at the low quality. Finally, at a higer refrigerant saturation temperature the $h_r$, value is found to be lower.

  • 예술의 전당 하부를 통과하는 우면산터널은 예술의 전당 자료관, 오페라하우스, 음악당, 서예관, 미술관 등의 건물과 인접하여 설계되었다. 이들 건물은 진동의 전달경로에 따라 구조-구조의 전달경로인 자료관과 구조-지반-구조의 전달경로인 오페라하우스, 음악당, 서예관으로 분류할 수 있다. 자료관은 하부의 기조 중 일부가 우면산 터널의 통과를 위해 설치한 박스(box) 터널 상부와 구조계를 형성하고 있고, 오페라하우스와 음악당 및 서예관 주변으로는 우면산 터널의 상행선과 하행선이 각각 인접하여 통과하는 구조계를 형성하고 있다. 본 연구는 서울시 서초구 서초동~우면동에 이르는 우면산 터널에 실험 차량이 통과할 때 차량 통행으로 인해 발생하는 진동이 예술의전당 자료관, 오페라하우스, 음악당, 서예관 등의 건축구조물에 전달되는 고체전파음의 발생특성 파악하고, 예술의전당 통과구간에 방진패드에 의한 도로포장 공사 후 그에 대한 효과를 비교하였다. 또한, 우면산 터널 예술의 전당 통과구간에 대하여 다공성 아스팔트로 도로포장한 후 그에 대한 효과도 파악하였다.

  • 플라즈마 이온 주입은 진공 chamber 내에 주입하려는 이온이 포함된 플라즈마를 발생시킨 후 처리하고자 하는 시편에 negative high voltage pulse를 인가함으로써 시편 주위에 형성되어 있는 이온들을 시편에 주입하는 방법이다. 이러한 플라즈마 이온 주입 방법은 금속의 내마모성, 내부식성, 강도 및 경도를 증가시키고, 고분자 화합물의 표면 개질에 있어서 친수성 또는 소수성과 같은 표면 처리를 쉽고 간단하게 처리할 수 있다. 그리고 반도체 공정의 shallow junction doping을 효과적으로 처리할 수 있으며 특히, 대면적의 시편에 균일하게 이온을 주입할 수 있다. 플라즈마 이온 주입 방법에서 중요한 요소는 dose, 즉 이온 주입한 양과 처리하려는 시편에 주입되는 이온의 에너지이다. 여기서, 플라즈마내에 생성된 이온들의 비율을 정확히 안다면 시편에 주입되는 이온의 양과 주입되는 이온의 에너지를 충분히 예견할 수 있다. 질소 플라즈마의 경우에는 N+와 N2+가 생성되므로, 시편에 주입된 질소 이온의 실질적인 이온당 질소 원자수는 1$\times$N+% + 2$\times$N+%가 되고, N2+의 경우는 N+ 주입 에너지의 1/2 로 시편내에 주입되게 된다. 또한 질소 플라즈마의 경우 N2+ 이온이 상대적으로 N+이온보다 많다면 N+가 많은 경우보다 이온 주입 깊이는 얕아지게 된다. 본 실험에서는 Dycor M-100 residual gas analyzer와 potical emission spectrometer (Ocean Optics SQ 2000)를 사용하여 압력과 RF power를 변화시키며 플라즈마내에 생성되어지는 질소 이온의 비율을 측정하였다. 또한 Langmuir probe를 이용하여 속도차에 의한 각 이온들의 존재비율을 계산하였다. 여기에서 질소 가스의 압력이 낮을수록 N+보다 N2+의 존재비율이 높음을 보였다. 이것은 압력이 낮은 영역에서 일반적으로 전자의 평균온도가 높기 때문으로 여겨진다.

  • In this study, heat transfer and Pressure drop characteristics for R-718 in the plate and shell heat exchanger (P&SHE) investigated experimentally. The plates are circular and welded into a stack which fits into a cylindrical shell in P&SHE. Although apparently very different from rectangular the compact brazed plate heat exchanger (CBE), the underlying flow passage structure through the P&SHE is the same as in the CBE. The R-718 between plate side and shell side was performed a counterflow heat exchange. Heat transfer characteristic of R-718 were measured for turbulent flow in P&SHE by using wilson plot technique. Heat transfer experiment Ivas performed in the $200{\leq}Re{\leq}500$ regime and Pressure drop experiment was performed in the $150{\leq}Re{\leq}1600$ regime. The purpose of this study is to investigate heat transfer and friction factor correlations for R-718 in P&SHE and to offer fundamental data for experiment

  • Retention behavior of lanthanides was studied on the dynamic system using dinonylnaphthalene sulfonic acid cation exchanger and tartaric acid as a complexing agent. The relations between logk' and log$[NH^{4+}]$/log[tartarate], and between logk' and logR showed good linearity in isocratic and gradient elution, respectively. In gradient elution of tartaric acid the slopes were increased as the initial concentrations were decreased. Column efficiencies and resolution of lanthanides on dinonylnaphthalene sulfonic acid equilibrated cation exchanger were found to be better in ${\alpha}$-hydroxyisobutyric acid eluent than in tartaric acid.

  • The goal of this study is to develop test method for evaluating the drug eluting properties of drug eluting stents (DES). PBS and the detergent solutions, presented by each DES manufacturer, were used for drug release of DES coated with paclitaxel, zotarolimus and everolimus. The drugs which are coating DES were not released by PBS but released by the detergent solutions, finally paclitaxel 83.38%, zotarolimus 103.85% and everolimus 115.78%. It seems that the use of the detergents is necessary in order to release the drugs because those drugs are extremely hydrophobic. In conclusion, using of detergent solutions presented by each manufacturer were suitable for evaluating the drug eluting property of drug eluting stent.

A Study on the Performance Analysis in the Plate and Shell Heat Exchanger (판각형 열교환기 성능해석에 관한 연구)

  • Heat exchangers are called with important devices which have been widely used in industrial fields. Therefore, the design method for a heat exchanger is an important study in the aspect of energy saving. In this study, performance analyses for two types of plate and shell heat exchangers having a corrugated trapezoid shape of a chevron angle with $45^{\circ}$, were executed and compared with experiments. For this study, the operation liquids were adopted with non-phase changing water. In the analysis, ${\epsilon}-NTU$ method was used for a plate and shell heat exchanger and a program was constructed. Independent variables for a plate and shell heat exchanger are flow rate and inlet temperature. Compared with experimental data, the accuracy of the developed are ${\pm}2.5%\;and\;{\pm}5%$ at the type A and type B in the heat transfer rate, respectively. In the pressure drop, the accuracy of the proposed program for a plate and shell heat exchanger is within ${\pm}3%$ and 5% error bounds for the type A and type B, respectively.

  • We have studied the other unit which is partial element in fullerene $C_{90}$. The energy of the higher fullerene increased by 5.6 kcal/mol for each $1.0{\beta}$ of planarity for the other units and increased by 11.0 kcal/mol for each $2C_1$ other unit at RHF/AM1 method. Therefore, we have known that the stable $C_{90}$ isomer do not have $C_1$ unit in other unit and have small planarity. The confirmable $C_{90}$ isomers by experiment satisfies these two conditions.

판각형 열교환기 내의 R-22 증발 압력강하 특성에 관한 실험적 연구

  • In this study, evaporation pressure drop experiments were conducted with two types of plate and shell heat exchangers (P&SHE) using R-22. An experimental refrigerant loop has been established to measure the evaporation pressure drop of R-22 in a vertical P&SHE. The flow channels were formed by adding three plates having a corrugated channel of a chevron angle of $45^{\circ}$. The R-22 flows down in one channel exchanging heat with the hot water flowing up in the other channel. The effect of the refrigerant mass flux, average heat flux, system pressure and vapor quality were explored in detail. During the experiment, the quality change between the inlet and outlet of the refrigerant channel ranges from 0.03 to 0.15. The present data showed that two types of P&SHE have similar trends. The pressure drop increases with the vapor quality for both types of P&SHE. At a higher mass flux, the pressure drop is higher for the entire range of the vapor quality. Also, the increase in the average heat flux increases the pressure drop. Finally, at a higher system pressure, the pressure drop is found to be slightly lower.

Action of Phospholipase $A_2$in Histamine Release from Mast Cells (비만세포에서 Histamine유리에 관여하는 Phospholipase $A_2$의 작용)

  • To investigate whether phospholipase $A_2$pathway is involved in histamine release of rat peritoneal mast cells, we measured histamine release in the presence of various enzyme inhibitors involved in eicosanoid pathway, such as phospholipase $A_2$, cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase. Phospholipase $A_2$inhibitors, manoalide and OPC, significantly inhibited histamine release induced by 100 $\mu$M ATP and 1$\mu$g/ml compound 48/80. Cyclooxygenase inhibitors, ibuprofen and indomethacin, significantly inhibited ATP-induced histamine release and lipoxygenase inhibitors, baicalein and caffeic acid, also significantly inhibited. To investigate the involvement of protein kinase in ATP- and compound 48/80-induced histamine release, we observed effects of protein kinase inhibitors on histamine release. Bisindolmaleimide (protein kinase C antagonist) dose-dependently inhibited both ATP and compound 48/80-induced histamine release. Tyrosine kinase inhibitors (methyl 2,5-dihydroxy cinnamate and genistein) dose-dependently inhibited ATP and compound 48/80-induced histamine release. Protein kinase C and tyrosine kinase seem to be involved in histamine release induced by ATP and compound 48/80. These results suggest that phospholipase $A_2$pathway as well as protein kinase C and tyrosine kinase are involved in histamine release of rat peritoneal mast cells by ATP and compound 48/80.
