Korean Costume has long history and functional aesthetic value compared with the traditional costume of other contries. But nowadays korean Costume is becoming more and more distant from the people in the world wide current. To domiciliate and spread out the Practical Korean Costume which the goverment selected as CI symbol representing Korean culture in the trend of times. We investigated and analysed systemically the consciousness of customers and the details of design. This study consist of theoritical study and positive study. Theoritical study has the esthetic characteristic(structure characteristics formative characteristic and the characteristic of color) As the conciousness of people change in modern life which everything change in high speed the esthetic characteristics of Korean Costume have changed in structure.

This research surveys the forming process of Practical Korean Costume and its social factors and examines Hanbok reformation. The international mode of '86 Seoul Asian Games and '88 Seoul Olympic Games in the 1980's called for the modernization of Hanbok. It is necessary for us to inherit modernized Hanbok which is endowed with the traditional beauty. The purpose of this research is to develop Practical Korean Costume design for focused on functionality as well as on keeping the traditional beauty This study consist of theoretical study and positive study. Theoretical study has the esthetic characteristics(structure characteristic, formative characteristic and the characteristic of color). Grounded upon survey on brands, I have suggested designs that maintain Hanbok's superiority and functionality to fit modern life. Most of Practical Korean Costume shops could not fractionalize customer. So it need to subdivide and specialize customer and investment to improvement of design. Practical Korean Costume will have to be made to maintain dignity by using high quality materials and a coordinate goods will have to be developed.

Textile The purpose of this research is to develop the design for activation of women s hanbok focused on functionality and convenience as well as on keeping the traditional beauty, and then to produce them. As a result of these explorations, I have reached conclusions as follows. first, the transformation of jackets and skirts are mainly limited to partial change in elements of the dress design-width and length of a jacket string and the upper strip on the outside of a jacket, change in width, and granting of symbolic meaning. Second, aesthetic features and formative beauty of traditional hanbok that the harmonization of mainstream colors and highlighting colors and curved silhouettes evoke were mental by products created as our people wished to become friendly to and to harmonize with nature. Third, grounded upon study of lines form and survey on brands, I have developed designs that maintain hanbok’superiority and at the same time incorporate functionality and convenience to fit modern life. I believe that the outcome of these of these explorations will contribute greatly to carrying the traditional beauty of Korean dresses to the maximun, and to developing and popularizing functional and practical living-fitted Korean dresses.

The purpose of this study is to develop a plan that adopts a fairly tale motif, which is familiar to children, to traditional Korean costume design factors for the development of practical Korean costume enterprises, which lead the Korean costume industry in its existence. Literary research and previous research methods had been used in this study. After comparing traditional Korean costume factors with practical Korean costume factors through literary research, we examined children's Korean costumes and ordinary children costumes. The results of this study are the following: First, the result of literary research, which used traditional Korean costume as motif of practical Korean costume and adopted model factors that the developed motif had used, shows that the design factors of practical Korean Costumes have changed from traditional to modern, seeking practicability and convenience over appearance. Second, practical Korean costumes are suitable when fairy tale illustration is applied to children with curiosity and warm emotions, and towards children, who spend much time on activity during growth. Third, making use of CAD system, which is different from practical Korean costume based on traditional patterns and single color, and using various pint pattern with many stories for the design of practical Korean costumes, and applying diversity to the market of practical Korean costumes, this study provides new design motif from, which people can feel more familiar to practical Korean costumes.

제주도민이 오랫동안 주로 노동복으로 착용해 온 갈옷의 이용 범위를 확대시키기 위하여 현대 감각에 맞는 갈옷의 일상복과 외출복을 고안하여 제작하였다. 또한 감물 염색으로 퇴색된 옷을 재활용하는 방법, 염색방법의 고찰, 감즙 염색에 있어서 재질의 적합성과 다양성 등을 살펴보았다 그 결과 재활용 아동복과 소창을 이용한 개량한복에의 응용은 갈옷 이용 범위의 확대를 시사하였다. 앞으로 갈옷의 단점을 보완할 수 있는 염색법의 간소화와 후처리법의 개발에 연구의 중점을 두면서 갈옷의 장점을 이용하여 용도에 알맞은 디자인을 계속해서 연구, 개발한다면 우리 전통 의상인 갈옷을, 시대에 어울리는 실용적인 의상으로 발전시킬 수 있을 것이다.

Costume is a formative art expressed by active human unlike the field of other living formativeness, and an expression of social actions based on a style of culture in a period. Therefore, costume has a deep connection with a mode of living and is recognized as a 'culture for living', and is more characteristic culture than all metaphysical cultures including architecture, craft, painting, and sculpture. Therefore, it expresses wearer's status or social standing, and furthermore, ideas and values of the times with aesthetic features in their form, color, materials, and pattern, so it is expressed as a mirror reflecting the phases of the times as. Korean costume had been dressed until the period of the Joseon Dynasty without a great change and started to be simplified in a simple style on the grounds of inconvenience in behaviors with the opening of an interchange of Western culture in the civilized period. And, this movement had been continued and Korean costume had been applied as an everyday dress under the name of 'Reformed Korean Costume'. Since the middle phase of 1980s, it aroused many people's interests with the introduction of designs focused on activity and convenience. In 1990's, many people had taken a growing interest in Korean costume with development of various designs keeping pace with the internationalization period and Korean Costume had been revitalized under the name of 'The Modernized Korean Costume'. And, since the 21st century, the advanced communication and full-scaled import of Western fashion have made the introduction of many fashion information in the world into Korea, affected greatly the fashion market, led consumers' sensitivity on a trend to be increased. Therefore, a design accepting a trend 'The Modernized Korean Costume' with fashions has risen. Second, this study is an attempt to suggest a revitalization method of domestic casual Korean costume brands by developing and suggesting competitive and highly value-added products with connection of practicality, variety, and highly sensitive fashion styles. For theoretical study, domestic and foreign literatures, academic journals, professional monthly magazines, and newspapers were examined. And, a process of change and features of the Korean fashion since the civilization period, and concept, features and images of casual Korean costume were analyzed, On the basis of analyzing image, features, and consumers' preference of the modernized Korean costume, a design development plan was established and 10 suits of costume were designed and made.

This study was to develop an ergonomic Korean male military winter jackets (inner and outer) pattern. First, we developed a prototype pattern and sample jackets based on a previous investigation for fitness and motion suitability of Korean male military winter jackets and evaluated fitness and motion suitability by a wearing test. The evaluation results were positive with an over 3.0 (5.0 Likert scale) for both the inner and outer jacket. However, a relatively low score was shown in the sleeve length and collar front height at the inner jacket and shown in hem circumference, neck circumference, elbow and front neck at the outer jacket. Next, we developed the secondary pattern and sample jacket reflecting the prototype evaluation result and executed expert evaluation. The result showed that the ease amount was appropriate (except for the collar back height) and the appearance was good. Finally, we developed a final pattern that showed good results after evaluation at a Korean military army base.

한류의 활성화에 따라 한류 관광객을 위한 문화 상품의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 그러나 현존하는 상품들은 연예인 캐릭터의 생활용품이 주를 이루고 있으며, 실용성이 가미된 의류제품의 문화상품은 현저히 그 수가 적다. 특히 아동복과 관련된 문화상품은 거의 개발되지 않았으며, 소수의 상품은 기본 티셔츠에 그래픽 또는 전통한복이 주를 이루었다. 이러한 상황에서 중국인들의 소비 패턴과 한류 문화상품을 적용시켜 볼 때, 한류 문화 상품으로써의 아동복이 개발 된다면 한류의 활성화 및 국내 패션시장에도 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한류 문화상품으로써의 아동복 디자인을 개발하여 실증적인 연구 결과물을 제시하고자 하며 다음의 연구목적을 수행하고자 한다. 첫째, 한류 문화상품의 개념을 파악하고 이들의 현황을 분석하여 현 시점의 한류 문화상품 개발을 위한 데이터를 구축하고자 함이며 둘째, 디자인 개발을 통한 실물작품을 제작하여 한류 문화 상품 시장에 실증적 자료로 제공하고자 함이다. 연구방법 및 내용으로는 선행연구 리뷰 및 질적 연구를 위한 일대일 심층 면접, 시장조사와 작품 개발의 실증적 연구로 진행하였으며, 최종 연구결과물인 4벌의 작품을 통해 소비자 니즈를 만족할 수 있는 한류 문화상품 아동복을 실증적 자료로 제시하였다. 본 연구는 국내 패션 시장 및 문화상품 시장에 기초자료로 활용될 수 있으며 중국 소비자 니즈 분석을 위한 참고자료로 그 의의가 있다.

The aim of this study is to develop Casual Hanbok design made of Hanji yarn textiles for New Silver generation women. The New silver generation is a coined word which has meaning of a newly silver generation and it is distinguished from pre-silver generation. New silver generation is a generation that is independent and given active role by their age groups and generational characteristic. The concept of silver generation was introduced from maturity market in Japan. This study was based on analysis about their preference of forms, colors, and materials of Casual Hanbok. The survey target were 270 female over age 50 living in Daejeon City. The analysis methods used frequency and percentage. The results were summarized as following. Although almost of them haven't worn Casual Hanbok, they had the positive recognition on wearing one. They preferred longer length jacket to traditional Korean style, shorter length of skirt. They also preferred the traditional sleeve shape and knotted buttons. On the foundation of this fact, 2 styles consist of 5 Casual Hanbok design items made of functional material - Hanji yarn textiles that have antimicrobial, deodorant, quick drying, far infrared radiation which are not harmful to health - for New silver women were suggested. One style was 3 items - blouse, vest, skirt - which are the sense of Korean tradition with activity by patch. The other was 2 items - jacket and skirt - which are the sense of Korean tradition with modern way by quilting. Lastly, these garments were evaluated by 13 experts, they were satisfied with 2 styles and all items. As this study were based on the Elderly women living in Daejeon city, it had the limitation on applying of preference styles to all the New silver generation.

The purpose of this study is to develop design for daily hanbok with Jacquard textile design developed by using the traditional patterns that suit the needs and lifestyles of the middle and old aged group. This study will also develop Jacquard textile design that has elaborate and luxurious patterns and abundant expression of colors using the traditional patterns that suit the needs and lifestyles of the middle and old aged group. Developing daily hanbok design for woman's casual and formal occasion will contribute to fashion business significantly by popularization of daily hanbok as one of the important fashion genre. The "Texpro Design CAD V8.21" program was used for the textile design. A total of 2 designs were developed as the Jacquard textile design with traditional patterns using flower motifs. One type of fabric was produced for each of the textile design with a color selected from "Pantone Color Chips". And finally, four woman's daily hanbok design for either casual or and formal style were developed and these daily hanboks were consisted of one set of jacket and trouser, durumagi, one set of jacket and skirt and one set of vest and trouser. And the actual garments were constructed and the design procedure and the photos of these works were presented. This study showed the possibility of producing highly sensible daily hanbok that suits the fashion trend of middle aged women and the widening of consumer range and the creation of new market by developing Jacquard textile design.
