  • The aim of this study was to describe Enneagram personality types, ego-resilience and to investigate the effects of ego-resilience on college adaptation in nursing and health care related students. The subjects were 623 students in 1st and 2nd grade. The data were collected from October 7 to 23, 2014 and analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient, multiple regression with SPSS 19.0. A positive correlation was found ego-resilience and college adaptation with Enneagram personality types. Personality type 4 and 5 in Enneagram were the lowest level in ego-resilience and college adaptation. The strongest predictor of college adaptation was optimistic attitude in ego-resilience. Optimistic attitude, confidence, emotional control, and academic grades were explained 61.6% of the college adaptation based on multiple regression analysis. These findings indicate that it is necessary to increase ego-resilience according to Enneagram personality types for positive college adaptation.

The outcome of the study on 144 elderly people using factor analysis, descriptive statistics, and regression analysis is as follows. First, there was a positive correlation among cultural and artistic experiences, life satisfaction among the elderly, and individual creative traits. Second, experiences in creation and appreciation, subfactors of the cultural and artistic experience, had significant effects on the elderly life satisfaction. Third, creation and appreciation had significant effects on creative traits of individuals. Fourth, individual creative traits showed a partial mediating effect on the relationship between cultural and artistic experiences and elderly life satisfaction. Therefore, it could be concluded that cultural and artistic experiences and individual creative traits have positive effects on elderly life satisfaction, and individual creative traits can be enhanced through cultural and artistic experiences. In addition, it was verified that the enhancement of creative traits through cultural and artistic experiences has a positive effect on elderly life satisfaction.

  • This study was conducted to identify the factors affecting nursing students' adjustment to college life. 364 students from six different nursing colleges were recruited into the study. The data were collected using questionnaires about bullying, peer support, ego-resilience and adjustment to college life and were analyzed using IBM SPSS 19.0 program. Data were collected from March 3rd, 2014 to December 12th, 2015. The results indicated that bullying(r=-.24, p<.001) had a significant negative association with nursing college adaptation. And adjustment to college life was positively correlated with peer support(r=.38, p<.001) and ego-resilience(r=.69, p<.001). The significant predictors of adjustment to college life were ego-resilience (F=334.33, p<.001), peer support(F=60.86, p<.001) and bullying(F=22.03, p<.001), explaining 47% of the variance. Based on the study results, we suggest that it is necessary to develop and apply the educational strategy to improve the peer support and ego-resilience for the adjustment to college life.

The survey was conducted from June 21 to 30, 2021 for 190 health students in G and J area. The data were analyzed by frequency analysis, reliability analysis, simple correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that positive perception had positive correlation with negative perception(r=-.286,p<.01), emotional regulation (r=.296,p<.01), and university life adjustment(r=.520,p<.01). Negative perception was correlated with emotional regulation(r=-.619,p<.01), university life adjustment (r=-.428,p<.01) and negative(-). Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS for Windows Ver. 22.0. The higher the major selection motivation and self-efficacy, the higher the college life adjustment. The lower the academic stress, the higher the college life adjustment. The factors influencing college life adjustment were self-efficacy, major selection motivation, monthly allowance, and the explanatory power of these variables for college life adjustment was 65.6%. Therefore, in order to improve the nursing students' college life adjustment, it is necessary to develop and apply college life adjustment program to increase self-efficacy.

This study examined 117 elderly person over the age of 65 years living in S city. The data were analyzed using an independent t-test, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression with the SPSS Win 12.0 Program. Significant negative correlations were observed between stress and IADL, significant positive correlations between motivation on healthy lifestyle and IADL. The predictors on IADL were the physical area of stress (${\beta}=-0.354$, p<.001) and self-efficacy of motivation on healthy lifestyle (${\beta}=0.250$, p<.001). The model explained 18.5% of the variance. More study will be needed to explore a range of factors influencing the IADL and develop education programs for effective healthy lifestyle of elderly people with arthritis.
