  • By taking an ecological approach, The purpose of this study was to 1. analyze the existing literary work about design directives for the elderly housing, 2. case study about actual housing conditions of elderly people, and analyze the level of satisfaction and level of requirement about housing environment by Korean elderly, By integrating the above three, suggested foundational data arranging the appropriate housing design directives pertaining to Korea's catual circumstances.

(Williams and Ruckelshaus, 1993, Coleman and Burkholde.,1994, 1995). • The primary purpose of the study was to review both domestic and international literature and intervention programs designed from an ecological perspective in dealing with issues on family welfare. This study cites several research evidence that indicates why an ecological model is a relevant alternative to investigate issues in family welfare. The strengths of the ecological approach and limitations of the present study were discussed. Suggestions for future research were made based on the review of literature.

  • The detailed interdisciplinary surveys were conducted on the pattern of habitat use of dominant fishes during the spawning and adult stage. The hydraulic parameters of the depth and velocity, discharge, substrate cover streams, and distribution of fish in the Yeonggang, WiCheon, HoeCheon, GeochangwiCheon, CheongdoCheon, DanjangCheon (the Nakdong River Basin) were measured. The Habitat Suitability Criteria was developed for the two fish species (Zacco Platypus and Zacco Temmincki) and life stages(spawning and adult), habitat conditions (depth, velocity and covet). The Physical Habitat Simulation of the Instream Flow Incremental Methodology was applied to calculate for optimal flow and the ecological flow recommendation was proposed by choosing the largest one in the optimal flow. The ecological flow recommendation was $5.0\;m^3/s{\sim}10.0\;m^3/s$ (e.g., $6.5\;m^3/s$ in the NaeseongCheon). Also, the ecological flow recommendations were compared with the existing ecological flow and flow duration analysis.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of hiking trails on forest landscape's fragmentation, based on which also to assess the landscape-ecology-based integrity by small drainage area by selecting Bukhansan National Park as a survey target. The results of effect analysis are as follow; size of forest patch decreased; the density of patch and edge increased; patch shape became complicated; the dimensions of core area noticeably decreased and proximity degree between patch increased after trail-building. In addotion, the assessment results of overall landscape ecology-based integrity by small drainage basin showed that the Bukhansan catchment area was highest making 3.7 point, while Gugi catchment area was rated the lowest making 1.6 point. Putting the above results together, it is necessary to prohibit the opening up of unnecessary trails and to make room for ecological restoration of damaged and disturbance area to their original state as nature goes for landscape-ecology-based conservation and management of forests.
