울산광역시 삼산동 매립장 침출수 정화를 위한 AquaMats(R)상에서 미생물의 분리 및 동정에 관한 연구

  • 울산 삼산동 매립장 침출수의 수질정화 공정을 위해 새로운 여재인 AquaMate$^{(R)}$가 사용되었다. 본 실험에서는 AquaMat$^{(R)}$에 서식하고 있는 여러 미생물 중 우점종으로 여겨지는 3종의 미생물을 각각 분리하여 동정하였다. 이들 미생물은 그램 염색 결과 모두 간균 형태의 그램 음성으로 나타났으며, 각각 Agrobacterium radiobacter, Pseudomonas cepacia, Flavobacterium indologenes로 판명되었다. 이들,3종의 미생물은 모두 침출수에서는 잘 자라지 못하였으나 yeast extract같은 생장촉진물질의 존재 하에서는 침출수에서 빠른 생장속도를 보여주었다.

Compressive Strength and Ecological Characteristics of Mortars Using Expanded Vermiculite Absorbing Bacteria (박테리아를 흡착한 팽창질석 기반의 친생태 모르타르 개발)

  • The objective of this study is to evaluate the compressive strength development and ecological characteristics of mortars using expanded vermiculite absorbing bacteria as a fundamental investigation to develop precast eco-concrete products. For bacterial growth under the high-alkalinity and high-dried environments within hardened mortars and for creating plant growth function to mortars, Bacillus alcalophilus and Rhodoblastus acidophilus were separated and cultured. The cultured bacteria were absorbed into expanded vermiculite selected for bacteria shelter. The expanded vermiculite absorbing bacteria was then added into mortar mixture as a volumetric replacement of fine aggregate. Test results showed that the developed technology is very effective in enhancing the plant growth onto the hardened mortars and reducing the COD and T-N concentration in raw water. The optimum replacement level of expanded vermiculite absorbing bacteria can be recommended to be less than 10% considering the compressive strength development and cost of mortars along with the ecological effectiveness.

Relation between the Shade Hours and the Landscape Tree Growth in the Apartment Housing Areas (공동주택단지내 조경수목의 생장과 피음시간과의 관계)

  • To figure out the relation between the shade hours and the landscape tree growth in the apartment housing areas, the present sizes and planting positions of 4 tree species in Gwacheon-si apartment housing areas were surveyed. Then, shade hours were analyzed and the data were analyzed by simple linear regression method. As a whole, the R$^{2}$ was too low to generalize the regression equation. Therefore, it was presumed that the gravity of shade hours in landscape tree growth in this sample site was relatively lower than that of any other environmental factors. However, it was presumed that the characteristics of shade intolerant and tolerant tree were turned up, because Pinus strobus showed a low negative correlation with shade housm and Acer palmatum and Magnolia denudata showed a low positive correlation with shade hours generally. And, it was proved that the statistically significant cases were the tree diameter at root collar and tree sidth of Acer palmatum and tree width of Magnolia denudata with shade hours showing a low correlation coefficient less than 0.4.

Phytoremediation Study of Disel Contaminated Soil by Indigenous Poplar Tree (국내 자생 포플러나무에 의한 디젤오염토양 정화특성 연구)

  • In this study, uptake and toxicity of disel (TPH) by poplar specie, $P.\;nigra{\times}P.\;maximowiczii$ were assessed in laboratory soil column experiments. Poplar cuttings were grown for 2 months and exposed to various concentration (0, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 mg/kg) of disel for a period of 60 days. For disel removal experiments, disel was effectively removed in the range of lower concentration. but, the removal rate of disel was rapidly decreased as increasing initial disel concentrations. For the this reason, toxicity effetcs were evaluated by measuring in poplar cutting mass variation and monitoring transpiration. Exposure on higher disel concentration resulted in decrease of biomass and transpiration accompanied by chlorosis and abscission, indicating toxic effect of disel on the poplar tree. And also, we have observed that both removal efficiency of disel and the microbial activity were higher at the bottom of the soil column. It was suggested that the plant formed the root zone at contaminated soil, stimulated microbial activity by plant root exudates, and played an important role in enhanced biodegradation of disel.

Development of Diameter and Basal Area Growth Models for Larix leptolepis in Eastern Mountain Areas, Jeollabuk-do (전라북도 동부 산악지역 낙엽송의 직경 및 흉고단면적 생장모델 개발)

  • This study was conducted to develop the growth model for diameter at breast height (DBH) and basal area (BA) of Larix leptolepis stands grown in eastern mountain areas, Jeollabuk-do and to enhance the precision of the models by adding regional and climatal factors, such as altitude, mean annual rainfall, and mean annual temperature. In results, it was analyzed that Schumacher polymorphic equation might be the best model to estimate DBH and BA growth. In case of the DBH growth model, precision was improved by adding altitude and mean annual rainfall. Moreover, in case of the BA growth model, precision was improved by adding mean annual rainfall. Meanwhile, it would be necessary for more precise model to add various factors, such as stand density, mortality, thinning ratio, and edaphic status along with regional and climatal factors.

Effects of UV-B and Growth Inhibitor on Overgrowth Retardation and Growth and ield after Planting in Fruit-Vegetable Plug Seedlings (UV-B와 생장억제제 처리가 과채류 플러그 묘의 도장 억제와 정식 후 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was performed to investigate the effect of UV-B (4 kJ${\cdot}m^{-2}{\cdot}d^{-1}$) irradiation and growth inhibitor (50 mg${\cdot}L^{-1}$ diniconazole, 500 mg${\cdot}L^{-1}$) treatment on the overgrowth retardation and the growth and yield afterplanting in plug-grown cucumber, tomato, and hot pepper sedlings. Stem length of UV-B-irradiated and iniconazole-treated seedlings was shortened by 38 and 35%^ in cucumber, 37 and 41% in tomato, and 23 and 23% in hot pepper, respectively, compared with non-treated seedlings. While retarding effect ofhexaconazole waslower that that of UV-B or diniconazle. Leaf area and dry weight alson decreased but ldaf thickness increased in UV-B irradiated or growth-inhibitor-treated seedlings. Even thouth the plant height and leaf area of UV-B-irradiated seedlings ant seedling stage were shorter and smaller that those ofnon-treatedd seedlings, they were recovered to the similar level to the growth of non-treated seedlings 20to 30days after trasplantin. The diconazole-and hexaconazole-treated seedlings were delayed recovery to their normal growth, Fruit yiedl of UV-V-irradiated hot pepper and tomato slightly increased but UV-B irradiated cucumer had similar yield to growth-inhibitor-treated one. It suggested that the use of UV-B irradiation could become a reliable tool of overgrowth retardation of plug-grown vegetable seedlings in greenhouse.

The Effects of Climate Factors on the Tree Ring Growth (기후인자가 임목의 연륜생장에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to reveal the relationship between major climatic factors and radial growth in Siu-ri, NamYangJuSi, Kyeonggido. To identify tree growth responses to climatic variation, we used correlation analysis after standardization and cross-dating of tree ring growth. We use the climatic data(monthly mean, minimum, maximum temperature and precipitation) from September of previous year to August of current year. In terms of relationship between mean, minimum, maximum temperature and tree ring growth, negative correlations were observed in September and October of the previous year. In case of Quercus mongolica, negative relationship were appeared in December of the previous year, January and February of present year. When it comes monthly maximum temperature, August and September of present year was negatively correlated with radial growth in the case of Pinus densiflora. We can conclude that reduced soil moisture due to high temperatures causes a water stress that stunts tree growth. In contrast, there are positive correlations in March of present year. These results suggest that high temperatures in March appear to prolong the growing season. Growth was positively correlated with precipitation from October to December of previous year and from May to September of present year. The results suggest that the smooth water supply from precipitation can promote the tree growth.

Environmental Factors and Growth Properties of Sasa borealis (Hack.) Makino Community and Effect its Distribution on the Development of Lower Vegetation in Jirisan National Park (지리산국립공원 조릿대의 입지환경 및 생장특성 분석과 하층식생에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, we investigated the environmental factors and growth characteristics of Sasa borealis community inside a temperate deciduous forest and reviewed its effect on the lower vegetation and natural regeneration. The S. borealis community in the Jungsan-ri region of Jirisan National Park was chosen as the study area, and the vegetation and the environmental factors were investigated. The dominance value, height and foliage layer thickness were investigated as the growth characteristics of S. borealis in the area. As the environmental factors, we investigated the photosynthesis photon flux density (PPFD) of the shrub and ground layers as well as the chemical characteristics of the soil. Additionally, we investigated the flora on the ground layer of the area as well as the number and height of woody plants. The result showed that the height and foliage layer thickness of the S. borealis was closely related to the light conditions but the distribution was not determined simply by the effect of the environment or vegetation of the particular area. This may be deeply related with the unique survival strategy of S. borealis, a vegetably propagated plant, that it can extensively distributed on a heterogeneous resources environment in a forest as multiple culm are interconnected with each other through the rhizomes. The dense dominance and great height of S. borealis reduced the plant species diversity in the ground layer by decreasing the PPFD on the ground surface.

Watering Methods and the Selection of Concentration of Best Nutrition on Prug Nursery of Native Elsholtzia splendens (도시환경 조성을 위한 야생화 대량 양묘 기술 구명 방법 연구 관수방법과 저면담배수 관수 적정양액구명 연구)

  • 야생화를 도시환경 조성에 이용하고저 대량 육묘기술 중 알맞는 관수방법과 양액을 구명하기 위하여 꽃향유를 공시하여 시험한 결과 다음과 같았다. 1 2개월 육묘시 저면 양액 담배수 관수 방법이 지상 관수에 비해 10배나 높은 생장량을 보였다(지상관수 자료는 Data에는 보이지 않음). 2. 뿌리발달로 보아 저면 양액 관수방법은 2개월 육묘로도 가능하였지만 지상 관수는 3개월 육묘해야 화단에 정식 할수 있을 것으로 보였다. 3. 2개월 육묘 저면 양액 관수시 양액농도는 1/2S의 Sonneveld 기준액이 가장 좋았고 N, K 는 약간 늘려주는 것이 좋았다. 4. 식물체내 무기물 성분은 저면 양액 관수가 높았고 생장량이 많았던 구가 비교적 높았다. 5. 화단에 정식시켜 개화기의 관상가치는 지상관수나 저면 양액 관수가 별 차이를 보이지 않아 흡비력이 높은 이 야생화는 육묘시는 다소 생장이 떨어져도 화단에서는 대체로 같아졌다. 6. 개화기의 초장도 3/2S와 Hyponex구에서 가장 컸으나 초장은 너무 커서 재배적으로 좀 줄여줘야 더 좋을 것으로 보여 S나 1/2S도 좋을 것으로 생각되었다.
