  • This study was carried out as a descriptive correlation study to identify the knowledge and performance of CPR of nursing students who have experience in CPR education and to explore the relationship between them. Participants in this study were 204 nursing college students who were enrolled in the 4th year of nursing at two universities located in G Metropolitan City from October 18 to October 30, 2018. For the collected data, IBM SPSS Win 21.0 version Program was used. The correlation between the subject's CPR knowledge and performance was evaluated using the Pearson Correlation Coefficient. There was a positive correlation between CPR knowledge and CPR performance (r=.22, p=.01), and it was found that the higher the CPR knowledge, the higher the CPR performance. Since this study is convenient extraction of nursing students from two universities in G Metropolitan City, there may be limitations in generalizing the results of this study. It is a self-reported indirect measurement rather than a direct measurement that measures by observing, reflecting the subject's subjectivity, and there is a concern that the effect of education may not be measured objectively. Therefore, further research using a direct measurement tool of CPR performance is needed.

Data were collected through interviews with 10 students at S Women's University in Gyeonggi-do from December 2022 to April 2023. All recorded data were analyzed using an inductive content analysis method. As a result of the study, two themes, four categories, and eight subcategories were found. Themes were 'factors promoting counseling' and 'Non-facilitating factors in counseling'. The first theme category was 'adaptation to new counseling methods' and 'pursuing convenience as the MZ generation', and the second theme category was 'resistance to counselling' and 'discrepancy from the desire for mutual relationships'. Through this study, it was helpful to understand that student counseling is essential for nursing students and what the most appropriate and useful counseling method is. Additionally, this study provided important evidence to lay the foundation for comparative research on face-to-face and non-face-to-face counseling among research participants according to gender and major. Further suggests research to develop a student counseling program for nursing students and confirm its effectiveness.

  • Local probe techniques such as scanning probe microscopy (SPM) or atomic force microscopy (AFM) extended our perception into ultra small world. Specially, the sense of touching was extended by AFM into the micro- and nanoworld and has provided complementary new insights of the microscopic world. In addition, touching objects is an essential step before trying to manipulate things. SPM as a touch sensor not only measure the mechanical properties but also detect different properties such as magnetic, electrical, ionic, thermal, chemical and biophysical properties in nanoscale and even less. Obtaining biophysical measurements, monitoring dynamics and processes together with high-resolution imaging of the biomolecules and cells with rather simpler sample preparation than any other techniques give great attractions to the scientists experimenting with biological samples. Among the many AFM capabilities we will specifically introduce the force plot which is used to measure tip-sample interactions and its application this time.

  • There has been increasing interest in automatic term recognition (ATR), which recognizes technical terms for given domain specific texts. ATR is composed of 'term extraction', which extracts candidates of technical terms and 'term selection' which decides whether terms in a term list derived from 'term extraction' are technical terms or not. 'term selection' is a process to rank a term list depending on features of technical term and to find the boundary between technical term and general term. The previous works just use statistical features of terms for 'term selection'. However, there are limitations on effectively selecting technical terms among a term list using the statistical feature. The objective of this paper is to find effective features for 'term selection' by considering various aspects of technical terms. In order to solve the ranking problem, we derive various features of technical terms and combine the features using machine-learning algorithms. For solving the boundary finding problem, we define it as a binary classification problem which classifies a term in a term list into technical term and general term. Experiments show that our method records 78-86% precision and 87%-90% recall in boundary finding, and 89%-92% 11-point precision in ranking. Moreover, our method shows higher performance than the previous work's about 26% in maximum.

  • The influences of fluorescence, scattering, and flocculation in turbid material by light scattering of N-propyl-N,N-dimethylethanolamine, fluorescence agent and absorption agent were interpreted for the scattered fluorescence intensity and wavelength. They have been studied the molecular properties by the spectroscopy of laser induced fluorescence (LIF) and flocculation. The effects of optical properties in scattering media have been found by the optical parameters(${\mu}_s$, ${\mu}_a$, ${\mu}_t$). Flocculation is an important step in many solid-liquid separation processes and is widely used. When two particles approach each other, interactions of several colloid particles can come into play which may have major effect on the flocculation and LIF process. The values of scattering coefficient ${\mu}_s$ are large by means of the increasing scattering of scatterer, The values have been found that the slope decays exponentially as a function of concentration from laser source to detector by our experimental result. It may also aid in designing the best model for oil chemistry, bio-pharmaceutical, laser medicine and application of medical engineering on LIF and coagulation in particle transport mode.
