  • 3D 입체영상의 후반작업에서 색보정은 전체의 화질에 영향을 미치는 중요한 과정이다. 기존의 색보정 방법들은 좌, 우영상 중에서 히스토그램을 바탕으로하여 어느 한쪽을 기준으로 일치성을 강화하는 처리를 한다. 히스토그램을 기반으로 색보정을 하는 경우, 충분한 색온도 변환이 이루어 지지 않는 단점이 있으며, 본 논문에서는 히스토그램을 사용하지 않고 색온도 변환을 중심으로 색보정하는 방법을 제안한다.

Color Correction Method of Non-standard Display Using Standard Color Space (표준 색공간을 이용한 비표준 디스플레이의 색 보정 방법)

  • A standard default color space, sRGB, provides compatibility for the transmission of color within the Internet color operating systems and device drivers. However, a display monitor we use generally have non-standard primaries and gamma characteristic different from those specified by sRGB. In this paper, correction methods of chromatic error for a non-standard display monitor are proposed. Experimental results show that the proposed method using the correction matrix reduced chromatic errors at in compared with the non-corrected image's on a non-standard display.

An Index Structure based on Space Partitions and Adaptive Bit Allocations for Multi-Dimensional Data (다차원 데이타를 위한 공간 분할 및 적응적 비트 할당 기반 색인 구조)

  • In this paper, we propose the index structure based on a vector approximation for efficiently supporting the similarity search of multi-dimensional data. The proposed index structure splits a region with the space partition method and allocates to the split region dynamic bits according to the distribution of data. Therefore, the index structure splits a region to the unoverlapped regions and can reduce the depth of the tree by storing the much region information of child nodes in a internal node. Our index structure represents the child node more exactly and provide the efficient search by representing the region information of the child node relatively using the region information of the parent node. We show that our proposed index structure is better than the existing index structure in various experiments. Experimental results show that our proposed index structure achieves about $40\%$ performance improvements on search performance over the existing method.

Implementation of Mobile Virtual Colored Overlay for People with Scotopic Sensitivity Syndrome (광과민성 증후군자를 위한 태블릿 PC와 스마트폰 용 가상 색 오버레이 구현)

  • A film colored overlay has been used as an assistive device for dyslexics, Recently, several virtual colored overlays which can be used in computer were developed. But mobile virtual overlay has not been developed yet. In this paper, I implemented a mobile overlay application which is based android operating system and displays a colored overlay of screen all the time while user can freely interact with rest of apps in normal manner by using root window and service. A method is presented to determine the source color of a virtual overlays by estimating alpha value of alpha blending algorithm through measurement of the chromaticity and transmissivity of film overlays and I implemented all colors which are presented by using Intuitive Overlays. Test results of the developed virtual overlay show that all colors of the overlays are almost identical to the colors of Intuitive Overlay by using the chroma meter CS-200A.

  • A film colored overlay has been used as an assistive device for dyslexics, Recently, several virtual colored overlays which can be used in computer were developed. But existing virtual overlays have some drawbacks which have limited colors and limited control capability over overlapped window by the overlays. Limited colors may prevent optimum color selection and limited control capability can obstruct to transfer keyboard and mouse operation to the overlapped window. In this paper, we implemented an overlay function which controls an overlapped window under the overlay window by using keyboard hooking and tray icon. We propose a method to determine the source color of a virtual overlays by estimating alpha value of alpha blending algorithm through measurement of the chromaticity and transmissivity of film overlays and implemented all colors which we can produce colors by using Intuitive Overlays. Test results of the developed virtual overlay show that all mentioned drawbacks of existing virtual overlays were eliminated. Therefore we can employ a result of WRRT to use the developed overlays.

  • In stream data processing system, generally the interval queries are in advance registered in the system. When a data is input to the system continuously, for realtime processing, a query indexing method is used to quickly search queries. Thus, a main memory-based query index with a small storage cost and a fast search time is needed for searching queries. In this paper, we propose a LVC-based(Limited Virtual Construct-based) query index method using a hashing to meet the both needs. In LVC-based query index, we divide the range of a stream into limited virtual construct, or LVC. We map each interval query to its corresponding LVC and the query ID is stored on each LVC. We have compared with the CEI-based query indexing method through the simulation experiment. When the range of values of input stream is broad and there are many short interval queries, the LVC-based indexing method have shown the performance enhancement for the storage cost and search time.

  • 현재 입·출력 장치 간의 색 불일치 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 각 장치의 색 특성 정보를 담고있는 ICC 프로파일을 기반으로 한 CMS(색 관리 시스템)가 개발이 되고 있다. 정확한 색 관리가 이루어지기 위해서는 무엇보다 출력물의 평가 기준이 되는 모니터의 올바른 보정이 이루어져야 하는데, 이에 따른 방안으로 색 측정장비를 통한 소프트웨어적 보정 방법이 사용되고 있다. 색 측정장비는 분광 방식의 Spectrometer 타입과 필터식의 Colorimeter 타입으로 구분이 된다. (중략)

  • 컬러영상은 디스플레이 장치의 색 특성에 따라 색이 다르게 나타나며 또한 프린터로 출력된 인쇄물의 컬러 또한 장치의 특성과 잉크의 재질에 따라 색이 다르게 출력된다. 이에 장치 독립적인 색을 재현하고자 ICC (International Color Consortium )에서는 영상 입출력 장치들 간의 장치 독립적인 색을 표현하기 위한 ICC 프로파일을 제시하였으며, 현재 많은 색 보정 프로그램들이 이것을 따른다. 이로 인해 현재 출시되는 입출력 장치들은 ICC 프로파일을 기본으로 제공하고 있으나. 현재 배포되는 ICC 프로파일이 담고있는 정보를 바탕으로 IC 프로파일들의 문제점을 알아보고자 ICC 프로파일을 해독하는 프로그램을 제작하여 일반적으로 많이 사용되는 디스플레이 장치들의 프로파일을 읽어 데이터를 비교ㆍ분석하였다.   • This study investigates effective ways to help users form a correct mental model of the hierarchical information space (HIS) in small display. The focus is the effect of color cue on understanding the structure and navigating the information space. The concept of color space (CS) corresponds well to the HIS - one color has a unique position in the CS as a piece of information does in HIS. In this study, we empirically examined two types of color cue, namely, categorical and depth cue. Hue was used as a categorical cue and tone was used as a depth cue. In our experiment, we evaluate the effectiveness of the color cues in the mobile internet system. Subjects were asked to perform four searching tasks and four comparison tasks. The results of experiment reveal that the categorical cues significantly improve the user's mental model whereas decrease navigation performances. The depth cues cannot aid in understanding the HIS as well as improve navigation performances. This study concludes with limitations of the study and descriptions of future studies.

Colorization Algorithm Using Wavelet Packet Transform (웨이블릿 패킷 변환을 이용한 흑백 영상의 칼라화 알고리즘)

  • Coloriztion algorithms, which hide color information into gray images and find them to recover color images, have been developed recently. In these methods, it is important to minimize the loss of original information while the color components are embedded and extracted. In this paper, we propose a colorization method using a wavelet packet transform in order to embed color components with minimum loss of original information. In addition, the compensation processing of color saturation in the recovered color images is achieved. In the color-to-gray process, an input RGB image is converted into Y, Cb, and Cr images, and a wavelet packet transform is applied to the Y image. After analyzing the amounts of total energy for each sub-band, color components are embedded into two sub-bands including minimum amount of energy on the Y image. This makes it possible not only to hide color components in the Y image, but to recover the Y image with minimum loss of original information. In the gray-to-color process, the color saturation of the recovered color images is decreased by printing and scanning process. To increase color saturation, the characteristic curve between printer and scanner, which can estimate the change of pixel values before and after printing and scanning process, is used to compensate the pixel values of printed and scanned gray images. In addition, the scaling method of the Cb and Cr components is applied to the gray-to-color process. Through the experiments, it is shown that the proposed method improves both boundary details and color saturation in the recovered color images.
