Purpose: This study has been started with the awareness that light and color are the main visual sensors of the multi-sensory stimulation environment to achieve the therapeutic environment for demented elderly. The purpose of this study therefore is for clarifying the application characteristics of therapeutic light and color for dementia care facilities. Methods: Internal and external literature reviews have been conducted for the investigation into a)disorders and visual system in demented elderly, b)therapeutic effects of light and color, c)heliotherapy, light therapy and color therapy to deduce the therapeutic characteristics of light and color for demented elderly, and finally into d)the application characteristics of it for dementia care facilities. Results: The application characteristics of the therapeutic light and color for dementia care facilities are classified into both qualitative and quantitative characteristics. Qualitative application characteristics of light represented using of daylight, using of lighting approximate to daylight, expansion of iluminance level, equality in iluminance Level, reduction of shadow, and as well as exclusion of blare. Quantitative application characteristics of it represented iluminance level, color temperature and color rendering index prescribed in international lighting standards. Qualitative application characteristics of color represented non-monochromatic color, color contrast, long wavelength of yellow-red colors, exclusion of short wavelength of blue colors and patterns, and as well as different colors for idenfication. Quantitative application characteristics of it represented kontrast(K) prescribed in DIN32975:2009 and light reflectance value(LRV) prescribed in BS8300:2009. Implications: To form dementia care facilities as therapeutic environment both qualitative and quantitative application characteristics of therapeutic light and color in dementia care facilities are needed.

시각적 의미의 개발에 바탕을 둔 색채 디자인 연구는 인간의 감성을 중시하는 새로운 패러다임을 맞이하여, 보다 확장적이고 다양한 연구로 발전되고 있다. 특히 화장품 브랜드의 개발과정에서 색채연구의 기능과 역할은 보다 새로운 차원으로 확대, 발전될 수 있는 가능성이 많다. 본 연구의 목적은 허브 식물이 가진 치료 효과와 심신을 편안하게 해주는 감성적 요인을 이용하여, 다차원적 감성을 활용한 색채 연구 방법론을 개발하고 이를 통한 자연성 화장품 브랜드의 이미지 전략을 수립하는데 있다. 허브 식물과 사용자 간의 감성적 교류에 대한 다차원적 특성은 '프리메라'라는 자연성 화장품 브랜드를 위한 감성적 이미지 개발 전략의 사례연구를 통하여 연구되었다. 본 사례 연구에서는 여성의 피부 특성에 따른 세 종류의 시각적/촉각적 색채 이미지 접근 방법을 분석하고, 이를 통한 활용 색체 팔레트를 개발함으로써 프리메라가 갖고 있는 브랜드의 이미지를 확고히 전달할 수 있는 감성 언어 체계를 개발하였다.

In modern society, the necessity of Color and Psychology Therapy is increasing for psychologically calm children who are less taken care by their parents in busy daily life, and helping them adapt to the environment. Therefore, we need to understand sensitivity status of children with paintings that they draw. Currently, most of empirical studies on their sensitivities are based on psychological and engineering perspectives. This study was designed to provide a system to extract psychological status of children from their pictures by distinguishing harmony of colors using information of solid colors and arrangement of colors in the image space. For achieving this research purpose, first of all, sensitivity database was constructed based on the image space of colors. Then, using the K-Means algorithm, the image was clustered and a wide amount of color values were divided into groups. After that, children's sensitivities were extracted by matching groups of color values with database, and color psychological status of children was observed using the color distribution chart in their paintings.

In recent, many researches have been studying sensitivity and psychology of human being on color and the necessity of psychology therapy by color. Among them, a picture of children can be a tool to represent their emotion. Information of colors and direction on a child's picture often represent his internal psychological states unconsciously and is different from the brightness of a color. In this paper, we propose a method to extract domain colors by color classification and subdivision the classes of brightness using fuzzy inference. In addition, it is shown that our method is used for analysing the psychology status of children through their pictures.

Medical color graphic research will serve as the basis for globally expanding and disseminating the design quality of the company's products through the era of production of medical robots. This study was based on technologies and contents suitable for the era of medical robot bed expansion, universal medical color application, ergonomic color, etc. In addition, the medical bed robot's color research direction was presented from the perspective of universal design. Accordingly, a universal color design was proposed, taking the functions of a medical robot under development by a domestic company as an example. The characteristics of this robot bed can be divided into three types of functions: first, treatment characteristics for prevention of pressure ulcers with curative, second, automatic seat exchange with cleanliness for medical environment, and third, Convenient, which can implement patient transport. The main idea is to present a combination of functional colors appropriate for this. The resulting color analysis and universal color design techniques could be a useful methodology for illustrating the appearance and function of a modern medical robot bed.

This study proposes a method to evaluate the level of 'soft-hard' of color quantitatively by evaluating the shape with edge sharpness automatically and by evaluating color in the color image scale in a drawing in art therapy using a computer. The dependent variable is the rank for the color experts to rate the level of 'soft-hard'. The mean and standard deviation of Value(V), and Chroma(C), colors, main color, clusters, length of edge, and sharp line rate of edge are considered as the independent variable. The appropriate independent variables to explain the dependent variable are selected through the step wise regression analysis. The inter-rater reliability of two raters is checked and the validity of developed system is verified by the rank correlations coefficient between the ranks of rater's and system's. This system can be used to evaluate of the shape or color in a drawing objectively and quantitatively for art therapy assessment, and to give the useful information to the fashion, textile, interior industry as well as color psychology and art therapy.

If game images use colors improper for certain ages, the characteristics of games disappear, and the efficiency of image expression drops. thus a study in color is very important. Nevertheless, there is a lack of research on this subject. In this study, we investigated the difference of color of game images according to users. User group is divided into all users and users over 18 years old. Among the rank of games,10 each from games for all ages and games for non-teen-rated are selected, and the game-playing images are taken as snapshots to have 100 each images each, A total of 2000 images were extracted and the mean values of RGB and HSB of each game were obtained and independent sample t test was performed. The results showed that the RGB color values between the two users were significantly significant. In the future, it is expected that it will be helpful in color selection when developing psychotherapy games and emotional games using color psychology. Furthermore, we will use color image scales to express colors as adjectives, analyze colors in a variety of ways, and investigate the difference in color of game images in each country.

본 연구는 예술심리치료 및 심상유도의 접근을 통해 영상치료로서의 시각적, 청각적 표현 범위와 치료요소를 찾는데 목적을 두고 있다. 현재 인간의 사회 활동 중에 생기는 정신적 육체적 스트레스를 예방 및 해소하기 위해 이루어지는 치료 활동 중 영상을 이용한 심리치료의 노력이 다방면으로 행해지고 있다. 치료의 형태는 주로 예술심리치료에 속하는 이미지와 기능음악, 클래식 등을 결합한 영상과 음향의 복합적 활용 방식이 주를 이루고 있다. 그러나 이는 치료적 요소에 초점을 두고 체계적인 제작이 되지 앉아 심리치료의 한계를 드러내고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 먼저 기존의 병원, 테라피 공간 및 공공장소에서 일반인을 대상으로 행해지고 있는 영상심리치료의 현황을 파악하고, 행해지는 치료 형태 분류를 통해 색채.미술심리치료에서 사용되어지는 이미지 활용과 음악치료 기법 중 GIM(Guided Imagery and music: 음악과 심상유도) 활용을 중심으로 일반인을 대상으로 하여 실험연구를 진행하였다. 실험 대상물은 영상이미지와 음향의 두 가지 자극이 복합되어 혹은 단일의 자극으로 주어지는 경우를 구분하여 정서적 반응을 조사하고, 전반적인 치료영상에 대한 선호도 조사를 통해 긍정적 정서를 불러일으키는 이미지 및 음향 요소를 도출한다. 이는 향후 영상심리치료의 체계적인 가이드라인 제작과 평가 척도 개발을 위한 기초 자료로 활용할 수 있다.

The residential and welfare facilities for the elderly are continuously increasing due to change of value on family under situation of aging population increase. And it is predicted that accommodation capacity of facilities for the elderly and its rate those facility takes compared to whole social welfare facilities will be accelerated considering past increase speed. On the other hand, about 60％ of elderly people have low physical and mental level almost dose to handicapped people therefore special environmental concerns helping their independent living are necessary. The purpose of this study is to analyze whether facilities for the elderly are adequate to accommodate their request condition by understanding color among environmental factors is one of most important factor for smooth understanding, communication and psychological remedy effect for thou. For this purpose, importance and effect of color and visual characteristic and reaction to color in elderly environment are researched through documents and visited 10 facilities in Seoul and Kyunggi region to research interior color status. And measuring of color on 5 main spaces of the facilities such as lobby/lounge, corridor, dining room, bedroom, stairway/ramp are done under analysis of its functional and aesthetic level based on Moon ＆ Spencer's color theory.

Background: The study aims to examine what color representation means to artists by investigating various hypotheses about van Gogh's expression of yellow and verifying the reason of his preference of yellow. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate whether yellow expression of Vincent van Gogh is a result of physiological responses of alcoholism, expression feature of mental disorder, or a problem caused by psychological motivation. Methods: In order to verify the research question, we referred to research literatures that analyzed a characteristics of Gogh's works in a various area such as psychology and psychiatry, and Gogh's symptoms and his own skills. Results: The findings suggested that Gogh's yellow preference is related to the psychological factors such as inner motivation, not a xanthopsia which is brought about alcoholism and mental disorder. Conclusions: Gogh's Yellow expression is dominantly influenced by the psychological factors. Thus, it can say that the psychological factors has a great on characteristic of artist's color expression.
