Previous plastic heat exchangers are expensive because the mold must be newly manufactured depending on the air conditioning space. On the other hand, danpla is so thin that the heat exchange performance is excellent. Moreover, danpla can be used easily in ventilation systems in view of fabrication. This study proposes correlations for the cooling performance of an indirect evaporative cooling system. The experimental apparatus consisted of a heat exchanger, spray nozzle, fan, thermostat, pump, and measuring sensors for temperature, humidity, and airflow rate. The results showed that the effectiveness decreased gradually as the airflow rate increased. In addition, there was an optimal condition in terms of effectiveness. The performance prediction correlations were determined using the experimental data from various conditions. The proposed correlations showed performance accuracies within 4 % error.
The values of physical properties of the inert gases of Ar, $N_2$, $CO_2$ were calculated by the empirical equations. The regression coefficients were obtained by the experimental data and the resulting calculated values. For the empirical equation with a lower regression coefficient, a new correlation was suggested. At an atmosphere pressure, the empirical equation was confirmed by the experimental values for the viscosity, density, saturated pressure, and surface tension of Ar, $N_2$, $CO_2$. The correlation coefficients of the empirical equations proposed in this work was higher than 0.99.

In this paper, new polyphase sequences and a sequence generation method are suggested. These sequences are found to have good correlation properties. Since the suggested generation method consists only of integer sums and modular techniques, sequence generation is also easy. The performance of the sequences is investigated when used in QS-CDMA systems under frequency selective, time nonselective, slow Nakagami fading channel with additive white Gaussian noise.

As the occurrences of flash floods have increased due to climate change, faster and more accurate precipitation observation using X-band radar has become important. Therefore, the Ministry of Environment installed two dual-pol X-band radars at Samcheok and Uljin. The radar data used in this study were obtained from two different elevation angles and composed to reduce the shielding effect. To obtain quantitative rainfall, quality control (QC), KDP retrieval, and Hybrid Surface Rainfall (HSR) methods were sequentially applied. To improve the accuracy of the quantitative precipitation estimation (QPE) of the X-band radar, we retrieved parameters for the relationship between rainfall rate and specific differential phase, which is commonly called the R-KDP relationship; hence, an empirical approach was developed using multiple rain gauges for those two radars. The newly suggested relationship, R = 27.4K0.81DP, slightly increased the correlation coefficient by 1% more than the relationship suggested by the previous study. The root mean square error significantly decreased from 3.88 mm/hr to 3.68 mm/hr, and the bias of the estimated precipitation also decreased from -1.72 mm/hr to -0.92 mm/hr for overall cases, showing the improvement of the new method.
The value of the cell enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay as a possible replacement for the indirect immunofluorescence antibody test for the estimation of antibodies against BD virus was assessed in four animal models. The serum antibody response was measured by both assay systems;the variability of both tests was less than one diluent step, and correlation of the two tests was assessed using regression analysis. The study showed that the all four animal models gave satisfactory correlation of CELISA and IFA. There, CELISA is acceptable for use in mouse, rabbit, chicken and rat models.

An experimental study has been performed on natural convection heat transfer with a rapid crust formation in the molten metal pool of a low Prandtl number fluid. Two types of steady state tests, a low and high geometric aspect ratio cases in the molten metal pool, were performed. The crust thickness by solidification was measured 88 a function of boundary surface temperatures. The experimental results on the relationship between the Nusselt number and Rayleigh number In the molten metal pool with a crust formation were compared with existing correlations. The experimental study has shown that the bottom surface temperature of the molten metal layer, in all experiments. is the major influential parameter in the crust formation, duo to the natural convection flow. The Nusselt number of the case without a crust formation in the molten metal pool is greater than that of the case with the crust formation at the same Rayleigh number. The present experimental results on the relationship between the Nusselt number and Rayleigh number In the molten metal pool match well with Globe and Dropkin's correlation. From the experimental results, a now correlation between the Nusslet number and Rayleigh number in the molten metal pool with the crust formation was developed as $Nu=0.0923(Ra)^{0.302}$ ($2{\times}10^4< Ra<2{\times}10^7$).
Purpose: $TFB^{(R)}$ CA19-9 IRMA kit uses beads coated with CA19-9 antibody. However, this mathod can not use automated equipment, and requires a long time test. Recently, CA19-9 IRMA kit developed by $TFB^{(R)}$ is coated with CA19-9 antibody to the polystyrene test tube and reaction at room temperature, and also reduced test time. This study evaluated the performance of a newly developed $TFB^{(R)}$ CA19-9 IRMA kit. Materials and Methods: This study were measured by using 56 patients sample of Boramae Medical Center and Seoul National University Hospital. We evaluated intra-and inter-assay precision, recovery rate, linearity, sensitivity and high dose hook effect of coated tube CA19-9 IRMA kit developed by $TFB^{(R)}$. The values of CA19-9 measured by $TFB^{(R)}$ bead kit were compared with those measured by $TFB^{(R)}$ coated tube kit. Results: ntra-assay coefficients of variation on three different levels were 4.1%, 4.0% and 4.2%. Inter-assay coefficients of variation were 7.6%, 4.3% and 7.8%. Recovery tests on all three different levels showed within $100{\pm}10%$. Linearity was good and sensitivity was 0.3 U/mL. High dose hook effect is not observed. There was strong correlation between bead kit and coated tube kit by $TFB^{(R)}$ CA19-9 IRMA kit. (y=0.9185x-0.953, $R^2$=0.9779) Conclusion: Coated tube CA19-9 IRMA kit developed by $TFB^{(R)}$ showed satisfactory precision, recovery rate, linearity, sensitivity and high dose hook effect.
The reaction of lecithin cholesterol acyltransferase(LCAT) and cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) are important in cholesterol esterification and transfer for the reverse cholesterol transport(RCT) system. The purpose of this study were to assess the effects of fatty acid unsaturation on RCT system. After 12 female human subjects consumed a prescribed high saturated fat diet prior to the period, two groups of six subjects were provided with a high PUFA(corn oil) or a high SFA(butter) as major fats in a 40 en % fat diet. Butter feeding increased plasma total-(34%), esterified-(96%), HDL_3$-(23%), LDL-(20%), and VLDL plus LDL(35%) cholesterol while corn oil feeding decreased esterified-(25%), LDL(15%) cholesterol and TG(27%). There were significant differences of fats on total-(p=0.0001), esterified-(p=0.0001), total HDL-(p=0.005), $HDL_2$-(p=0.01)and LDL-(p=0.0001) cholesterol. LCAT activity did not change during the period but highly correlated to apo A-I in HDL which was increased in the corn oil group. The 2.5 fold increased CETP activity in the butter group during the period might be related to changes in plasma VLDL plus LDL cholesterol level which were increased in the butter group.
We examined the effect of soil:water ratio on the equivalent concentration of individual electrolyte species and the electrical conductivities (EC) of the diluted extracts of 24 soil samples (loam or silt loam) collected from rose-cultivated plastic houses to estimate the EC of saturated soil-paste extracts (ECe) from diluted soil extracts. With increasing volume ratio of water (higher dilution), the equivalent concentrations of each electrolyte species and their sum increased. The relative contribution to the EC, however, was highest for $NO_3{^-}$, irrespective of soil:water ratio. The measured ECe was 6.36 for loam and $8.09dS\;m^{-1}$ for silt loam soils and the corresponding soil:water ratio was 0.38 and 0.50, respectively. The EC_e estimated from the EC of diluted extracts at 1:1, 1:2, or 1:5 soil:water ratios using their corresponding uniform diluted factors was lower than the measured EC_e and this difference was greater with higher dilution and EC values. Therefore, the alternative diluted factors (y) for each soil: water ratio were obtained following the definition of diluted factor and were correlated significantly with volume ratios of added water (x): y=1.55x+0.5 for loam and y=1.21x+0.48 for silt loam soils. On the other hand, correlation analyses of the EC of soil extracts (y) to the volume ratio of added water (x) on log-log scale yielded linear models: logy = -0.805logx + logb, SD of slope=0.05, b=sample specific constant, n=24). With known saturation percentage of a sample representing a group and and the EC of diluted extract of a given soil, the EC_e could be predicted using the proposed logarithmic equation.

Purpose: This study evaluated the validity of a physical activity classification table (PACT) based on total energy expenditure (TEE) and physical activity level (PAL) measured using the doubly labeled water (DLW) method in Korean adults and the elderly. Methods: A total of 141 (male 70, female 71) adults and elderly were included. The reference standards TEEDLW, PALDLW were measured over a 14-day period using DLW. A 24-hour physical activity diary was kept for three days (two days during the week and one day on the weekend). PALPACT was calculated by classifying the activity type and intensity using the PACT. PALPACT was multiplied by resting energy expenditure measured by indirect calorimetry to estimate TEEPACT. Results: The mean age of the study participants was 50.5 ± 18.8 years, and the mean body mass index was 23.4 ± 3.3 kg/m2. A comparison of TEEDLW and TEEPACT by sex and age showed no significant differences. The bias, the difference between TEEDLW and TEEPACT, was male 17.3 kcal/day and female -4.5 kcal/day. The percentage of accurate predictions (values within ± 10% of the TEEDLW) of TEEPACT was 58.6% in males and 54.9% in females, with the highest prediction values in the age group 40-64 years (70.9%) in males and over 65 years (73.9%) in females. The spearman correlation coefficient (r) between TEEPACT and TEEDLW was 0.769, indicating a significant positive correlation (p < 0.001). Conclusion: In this study, the use of a new PACT for calculating TEE and PAL was evaluated as valid. A web version of the software program and a smartphone application need to be developed using PACT to make it easier to apply for research purposes.
