A Study of Technical Innovation Model of Digital Contents (디지털콘텐츠의 기술기반 진화모델연구)

  • Digital Media have been advanced and disseminated at the same time around the world. Digital contents have been evolved while Product Technology and Process Technology of 3D Digital Animation and On-line game have completed the innovative developments. First of all, several problems can be occurred when product technology can not lead the evolvement of digital contents. To accomplish the evolvement of both product technology and process technology of digital contents, the whole production system and process system must be modulized. Modulization of system can be completed by the consistent and stable integration of platform. Modulization of production system can bring out the modulization of product technology and then the modulization of technology can speed up the commercialization and market test.

Development of Interactions between Higher Education Institutions and Companies in the U.S. (미국 대학과 기업간 연계의 발전 과정)

  • Knowledge has become a primary source of competitiveness, and knowledge workers, people whose jobs require formal and advanced schooling, are one of the fastest growing groups in workforce. With the rise of a knowledge-based economy, higher education has been increasingly emphasized in economic development. Colleges and universities have recently added translation of research into products and new enterprises to their educational functions while companies have increased their external links to keep pace with rapidly changing and increasingly complex business environments. These changes have strengthened the role of colleges and universities in industrial innovation which is a key to economic development. This research reviews characteristics of U.S. higher education and development of interactions between higher education institutions and companies in the U.S. The case of IT industries, where U.S. has a competitive edge, provides specific examples and implications. Four major routes of interactions between higher education institutions and companies are suggested to provide a research framework for future studies in this area.

A Study on the Print Design Development Utilizing Tie-Dyeing Technique -Using CAD- (홀치기 염색기법을 활용한 날염 디자인 개발에 관한연구 -CAD를 이용하여-)

  • 본 연구는 염색 과정 중에 발생하는 수질오염을 줄이고 또한 홀치기 염색기법에 의해 제작된 패턴을 모티브로 하여 수작업에서 얻지 못한 다색 의 사용을 가능케 함으로써 새로운 느낌 의 홀치기 문양 표현과 3D 모델링을 통하여 텍스타일디자인이 상품화 되었을 때의 효과를 CAD를 이용하여 살펴보고자 한 것이다. 연구방법으로는 가장 일반적인 실로 묶기, 전통적인 손바느질 느낌이 나는 시침질, 현대적 느낌이 강한 깡통에 의한 묶기와 기하학적 효과가 나는 접기 등의 홀치기염색 기법으로 수작업 한 다음 CAD를 이용하였다 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 홀치기염색기법에 의해 제작된 패턴을 모티브로 하여 수작업에서 얻지 못하는 다색사용가능성이 주메뉴의 색정리, 색4전개, 색 바꾸기를 사용함으로써 가능하였다 둘째, 다양한 색을 얻기 위해서 홀치기염색의 수작업에서는 상당한 시간과 노력을 필요로 하지 만 CAD를 사용함으로써 이러한 작업 이 몇 가지 메뉴의 사용으로 짧은 시간 내에 쉽게 이루어질 수 있었다. 셋째, CAD를 통한 홀치기 염색패턴의 새로운 이미지 효과를 얻기 위해 Solarize와 Intensity Direct, Effect/Emboss를 사용함으로써 다양한 질감과 새로운 이 미지 의 홀치기염색패턴을 얻을 수 있었다. 넷째, 위의 작업 과정을 통하여 수작업에서 발생 하는 수질오염을 줄일 수 있었다. 다섯째, 이상에서 얻어진 염색패턴을 3D모델링을 통하여 상품의 제작과정과 소비자에게 착용되었을 때의 효과를 미리 볼 수 있음으로 인해서 생산자의 실패율을 줄여줄 수 있을 것으로 본다 여섯째, CAD를 이용한 이러한 일련의 과정들이 텍스타일산업 분야에 충분히 기여 할 수 있을 것으로 기대 된다.

The Political Ecology of Salmon: Production and Conservation of 'Nature' in Ecotourism (연어의 정치생태학: 생태관광에서 나타나는 '자연'의 생산과 보존)

  • This study investigates the processes of the "Production of Nature" and the preservation and exploitation of nature in the local festival. The recent discussions in tourism geography address the neoliberalization of nature with its political-ecological interpretation. Yangyang-gun has been one of the main regions that have made efforts to make salmon back to the streams. Also, the Yangyang Salmon Festival was organized to celebrate and symbolize the successful restoration of nature. In fact, however, the festival focuses on the commercialization of salmon. Moreover, it is hard to consider Namdaecheon as the successfully restored ecosystem for salmon. As the returning number of salmon has not significantly increased and the festival itself has not been successful to attract many tourists, the local people show declining interest on the conservation of salmon. Contrast to the catchphrase of the festival to emphasize the conservation of nature and restoration of ecosystem, there are still many hurdles that jeopardize returning of salmon. This controversy leads diverse actors into conflict over the conservation of salmon and Namdaecheon. The players in the dispute encompass local people, local and national governments and international organization. Nature appropriated for ecotourism is selectively defined, used and emphasized by the interests of agencies at multiple scales. The findings of this study show that the concept of "Produced Nature" is more useful than intrinsic or original perspective on nature as long as we try to understand the commercialization of nature that is appropriated for the repertoire of local festival.

A Study of Hands-Free Car Kit Design Development according to the Consumer′s Purchasing Need (소비자 구매요구에 따른 차량용 핸즈프리 디자인 개발에 관한 연구)

  • Product design has direct effects on sales, exciting consumer's interest in purchasing. With the draft bill of Road Traffic Law passing the National Assembly, drivers have been entirely prohibited by the law from using a cell phone while driving since June 30, 2001, As a result, the demand for and the sales of hands-free Kit products for vehicles have been skyrocketing, and more and more of them have been introduced in the market and competing each other in sales. In these situations, the study attempted to present a case study showing the whole process of product design by a small company, which intended to gain an advantage over the competitors in the sector of hands-free products for vehicles with differentiated design. The product whose design development process was presented in the study has many characteristics. Among them it is the most remarkable in removing the connection between the cell phone terminal and the stationary hands-free product. The study was aimed to increase the investment value of design by helping understand that the ultimate goal of technology is commercialization and that how great the role of design is from the beginning to the final stage of product development. It also emphasized the point that one of the goals of design development should lie in providing a more accurate perception of the importance of design to the industry, by establishing a design process throughout the whole stages of product development including initiation, designing and commercialization.

  • The main purpose of this study is to define relevant factors that influence successful start-ups and management innovations of traditional markets from the point of market structures and relations. To do this, we devide an entrepreneurship of merchant into two factors, risk taking and managerial experience and choose product planning and its implementation to see merchandising of traditional markets. In this study we identify that several factors we chose are contributing to generating management performances through market promotional parameters. Also we confirm that image factors of traditional markets is consist of awareness and value of markets, and that these factors shows some sequential and continual patterns in the course of generating performances. In additions, it is identified that four independent factors have positive effects to star-up success; risk taking 0.29(t 2.61), managerial experience 0.04(t 1.79), merchandising implementation 0.374(t 2.61), market value 0.47(t 5.25), market awareness 0.22(t 2.30). This study can help merchants of traditional markets to make and change their market strategies, restructure their businesses and survive in the field. This also provide some ideas and guidances to relevant government agencies in formulating traditional market policies.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate development and nutrient analysis of traditional food in the Sunchang area. A total 6 kinds of set tables was excavated from storytelling. Among set tables, taste and season food were the best in Sunchang gochujang hanjeongsik and Sunchang arirang season table. Shape color, smell, and commercialization possibility and differentiation were best in Sunchang arirang season table. Mole Ratio of sodium and potassium was 1:1 in Sunchang gochujang hanjeongsik and Sunchang arirang season table. The calcium contents in Sunchang gochujang hanjeongsik and Sunchang arirang season table were higher than other traditional foods. This result indicated that Sunchang gochujang hanjeongsik and Sunchang arirang season table are useful for traditional functional food. Also, it is highly suggested to make a database system about local food and standardization of traditional foods cookery.

첨단과학기술현장 - 의학의 새 지평을 여는 '유전자지도'

  • 10여년간에 걸쳐 30억달러의 자금이 투입된 인간게놈계획사업(genome project)은 유전자의 배열상태를 우선 밝히는 역사적인 작업을 마무리했다. 2000년 3월 14일에는 클린턴 미국대통령과 블레어 영국수상이 그동안의 인간게놈계획의 연구결과를 전 세계 과학자들에게 무료로 공개한다고 발표하여 세계과학자들의 기대를 부풀게 했다. 그러나 30억 이상의 유전정보를 해독하는 사업은 이제 겨우 시작에 지나지 않다는 것도 사실이다. 인간게놈의 배열을 가려내는 것은 사전으로 비유할 때 모든 낱말의 알람표를 만들었을 뿐이며 그 낱말들(배열)이 무슨 뜻을 갖고 있는 것인지 밝히는 일은 지금부터 풀어야 할 과제이다. 세계 주요 의약계는 먼저 인간게놈에 내포된 10만개 이상의 유전자가 어떤 기능을 갖고 있는가 해독하는데 필요한 툴(연장)을 고안하여 유전자에서 얻는 지식을 이용하여 신약을 개발하는 불꽃튀는 경쟁에 뛰어 들었다. 그러나 이것은 간단한 일이 아니다. 신약개발에는 평균 15년이란 오랜 세월이 걸리고 당초의 유효성분의 발견이 약으로써 상품화되는 비율은 5% 이하다. 잠재적인 신약후보는 독성부작용을 알아보기 위해 동물을 이용한 생물학적 검사와 수년간에 걸친 인간에 대한 임상실험을 거쳐야 한다. 아무리 게놈기술이 탁월하다고 해도 이 과정을 단축시킬 방법이 없다. 그러나 게놈프로젝트의 열매가 우리의 의학 및 약학발전사에 중대한 이정표를 세울 것만은 틀림없다. 세계의 대표적인 연구기관을 통해 2050년까지의 의약발전상을 미리 내다본다.

Microporous Bellow Fiber Membrane Prepared from High Density Polyethylene/Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene Blend (고밀도 폴리에틸렌/초고분자량 폴리에틸렌 블렌드로 제조한 미세다공성 중공사막)

  • Hollow fiber was prepared from the blend of a high density polyethylene (HDPE)/ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). The changes in the morphology and mechanical property of the hollow fiber were investigated. The commercial product (Sterapore), having a high water permeability, was analyzed with viscosity measurement and FT-IR. The molecular weight of Sterapore was very high and its surface was coated with a vinyl alcohol/vinyl acetate copolymer. The content of UHMWPE in the HDPE/UHMWPE blend was limited below 10 wt%. In order to improve the dispersion of UHMWPE, a mineral oil should be introduced in the blend. The morphology and mechanical property of the hollow fiber of HDPE/UHMWPE blend were similar to those of the commercial product.

One-key Keyboard: A Very Small QWERTY Keyboard Supporting Text Entry for Wearable Computing (원키 키보드: 웨어러블 컴퓨팅 환경에서 문자입력을 지원하는 초소형 QWERTY 키보드)

  • 웨어러블 컴퓨팅 환경에서 사용 가능한 키보드는 부담 없이 착용할 수 있어야 하며 충분히 빠른 속도로 문자를 입력할 수 있어야 한다. 또한 일반적인 사용자도 특별한 훈련과정 없이 쉽게 사용할 수 있어야 한다. 상용화된 웨어러블 컴퓨팅용 입력장치는 주로 소형화 QWERTY 키보드인데 공통적으로 키 수를 줄이는 방식을 택하고 있다. 그러나 줄이는 키 수에 대응하여 문자 입력을 위한 키 입력 수(KSPC: Key Strokes per Character)가 증가하기 때문에 입력효율이 저하되고 학습을 위한 요구되는 노력이 또한 증가한다. 그럼에도 불구하고 Halfkeyboard, WristPC keyboard, FrogPad 등 상품화된 키보드는 충분히 작은 사이즈가 아니어서 일상적으로 부담 없이 수용하기에는 물의가 있다. 본 연구는 이런 문제점을 해결하기 위해 키 간격을 줄여 극적으로 키보드를 소형화할 수 있는 원키 키보드라는 개념을 제안하였다. 전통적인 키보드의 경우 하나의 키에 하나의 문자가 할당되는데 반해 원키 키보드는 하나의 키 판 위에 10*5 배열의 QWERTY 키보드 문자배열을 표시하게 하였다. 또한 표시된 문자판에서 어떤 것을 선택하여 눌렀는지 손가락의 위치를 센싱하여 해당 문자를 입력하도록 하였다. 70mm*35mm 크기의 원키 키보드에 대한 실험결과 착용성과 사회적 수용성이 우수하였으며 5 세션의 시도를 통해 평균 18.9WPM 의 입력속도와 교정되지 않은 순수 에러율 0.87%를 기록하였다.
