Optimal Design of Linear Quadratic Regulator Restrict Maximum Responses of Building Structures Subject to Stochastic Excitation (확률적 가진입력을 받는 건축구조물의 최대응답 제한을 위한 선형이차안정기의 최적설계)

  • In this research, a controller design method based on optimization is proposed that can satisfy constraints on maximum responses of building structures subject to around excitation modeled by partially stochastic process. The class of controllers to be optimized is restricted to LQR. Weighting matrix on controlled outputs is used as design variable. Objective function, constraint functions and their gradients are computed by the parameterization of control gain with Riccati matrix. Full state feedback controllers designed by proposed optimization method satisfy various design objectives and their necessary maximum control forces are computed for the production of actuator. LQG controllers composed of Kalman filter and LQR designed by proposed method perform well with little deterioration. So it is possible to design output feedback controllers satisfying constraints on various maximum responses of structures.

Performance Improvement of ARQ Protocol using HARQ Feedback Information in IEEE 802.16m Systems (IEEE 802.16m 시스템에서 HARQ 피드백 정보를 이용한 ARQ 프로토콜 성능 개선)

  • In this paper, the effects of HARQ feedback error are evaluated in IEEE 802.16m system when the HARQ and ARQ interactions that utilize the HARQ feedback information is used. Also, the HARQ and ARQ interaction scheme considering HARQ feedback errors are proposed. The HARQ and ARQ interaction scheme improve the system throughput by using the HARQ feedback information instead of the ARQ feedback message, which reduce retransmission time. However, errors in the HARQ feedback information generate severe performance degradation. Especially, the local NAK errors between HARQ feedback error critically degrade the performance, because the local NAK errors lead the loss of ARQ blocks. We propose a channel state-based schemes for HARQ and ARQ interactions to mitigate the throughput degradation due to HARQ feedback errors. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the throughput and the delay performance.

Long-term stabilization of optical feedback of a resonant external cavity coupled semiconductor laser (공진형 외부 캐비티 부착 반도체 레이저의 광피드백 장기 안정화)

  • In this study, a novel long term stabilization method of optical feedback for the resonant cavity coupled semiconductor lasers is proposed, and its utility was shown experimentally. The proposed method is realized by using the pahse discriminator of optical feedback with high gain. The phase discriminating signal was obtained by the polarization spectroscopic technique using reflection light from the external reflector, which is a confocal Fabry-Perot cavity. Experimental result shows that stable control state can be maintained up to 20 hours. The period can be increased by reducing size of the system and/or fixing position stably of optical parts used, which were arranged on an optical table by using magnetic bases in this experiment. The proposed long-term stabilization method of optical feedack of a resonant external cavity coupled semiconductor laser is very useful for the field of high sensitivity measurement, and for the use in the laboratory level in particular.

  • Recently, many people have suffered from insomnia, labor loss, cognitive decline, and mental illness. The solution to this problem is almost entirely cognitive therapy or medication, but it is not recommended in the long term due to side effects and dependency problems. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a neuro feedback system based on portable EEG that helps induce sleeping. We design and evaluate the EEG classifier, which is the most important function to implement the system, and propose an optimized classifier modeling method for various factors that can affect performance. When using the proposed classifier, we could distinguish 97.9% of awakening and sleep phase in portable EEG.

  • 본 논문은 다중경로 페이딩 채널에서 폐루프 MIMO-OFDM 시스템을 구현할 때 효율적인 피드백 정보를 제공하기 위한 채널 품질 지시자(Channel Quality Indicator, CQI)를 결정하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 다중경로 페이딩에서 OFDM심볼의 부반송파들이 주파수영역에서 서로 다른 채널이득을 경험할 수 있고 여러 채널행렬 중에서 어느 채널행렬에 기반해서 채널 상태를 반영하는 채널대표값을 계산해야 하는지 분명하지 않다. 따라서 수신측에서 송신측으로 피드백하기 위해서 하나의 CQI정보를 생성하는데 필요한 채널 대표값이 필요하다. 채널 대표값을 구할 때 쉽게 생각 할 수 있는 방법인 기준신호의 평균 채널행렬을 이용하는 경우에는 채널상태를 정확히 반영하지 못하고 기준신호의 MMSE검출 후 SNR을 검출하는 방식은 채널상태를 정확히 반영해서 성능을 향상시키지만 많은 연산량을 필요로 한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 허미시안 연산된 값을 채널 행렬 평균화해서 채널상태를 정확하게 반영하고 연산량을 줄이는 것에 중점을 두고 있다.

Control System Design and Performance Analysis for Transmission Static Compensator (송전용 무효전력보상기의 제어시스템 설계와 성능해석)

  • This paper describes a control system design for the transmission STATCOM by applying a no-linear state feedback, and the performance analysis of the control system by simulations and scaled-model experiments. A mathematical model for the STATCOM was derived using a 3-phase equivalent circuit and a perturbation state equation with respect to a typical operating point. A transfer function to describe the dynamics of STATCOM was derived by considering nonlinear state feedback. A controller design was completed by analyzing the feedback system stability with root locus method. The performance analysis of the conceived control system was verified by simulations with the EMTP and experiments with scaled model, assuming that the STATCOM is connected to an 154kV transmission system. The results show that the conceived control system has excellent performance to control the reactive power of the transmission system.

  • 본 연구는 이러한 뇌파 바이오피드백 원리를 적용하여 뇌파를 유도하고 유도된 상태에 대한 피드백을 제공함으로써 사용자 스스로 자신의 뇌파 상태를 조절하도록 하는 장치로 개발된 Q0jump 시스템의 효과성을 밝히고자 하였다. 연구 방법에 있어서 뇌파 측정 장비와 Q-jump를 동시에 측정함으로써 Q-jump 시스템의 타당성을 검증하였으며, 또한 뇌파유도 프로그램을 사용하여 그 효과성을 입증하려 했다. 그 결과 Q-jump 시스템과 뇌파 측정장비에서 얻어진 결과가 유의한 상관을 가짐을 보았다. 상대적 출현량에 있어서 뇌파 유도프로그램을 사용했을 때, 전두엽 부분에서 slow alpha 는 유의한 증가를, fast beta는 유의한 감소를 나타냈다. 후속 연구에 있어서는 통제집단을 이용한 보다 면밀한 검증 연구가 필요하다.

Effect of transmit power on the optimal number of feedback bits in dense cellular networks (셀룰러 네트워크에서 송신파워가 최적의 피드백 정보량에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, a dense cellular network is considered in which each base station equipped with multiple antennas simultaneously communicates with multiple single-antenna users. Based on limited feedback, each user feeds back its quantized channel state information (CSI) to its associated transmitter, and the transmitter broadcasts multiple data streams prepared for the scheduled users using a space-division multiple access scheme. As the amount of CSI is limited at the transmitter, the downlink throughput increases with the number feedback bits. However, the increased number of feedback bits requires the correspondingly increased amount of uplink resources. Thus, an appropriate balance between the downlink throughput and the uplink resource usage should be considered in realistic systems. A net spectral efficiency defined in this context is used in this paper, and the optimal number of feedback bits that maximizes the net spectral efficiency is analyzed. This paper particularly focuses on the case when the received signal power is much smaller than the noise power.
