The Idea of Mercantilism and Commercial War in late Qing Dynasty from the Perspective of the Industrial Revolution (산업혁명의 맥락에서 본 청말(淸末)의 중상론(重商論)과 상전론(商戰論))

  • This study reviewed the idea of mercantilism and commercial war which developed around "newly rising class" like translators, diplomats and compradors of late Qing Dynasty, by which new recognition of social classes was demanded. In particular, this study newly identified the meaning of commercial war and new social order of last Qing dynasty, by attempting an analysis based on the context and aspect in the process of globalization of industrial capitalism conducted under the influence of the first industrial revolution from the U.K. Therefore, in the history of modern Chinese intelligence, the theory of mercantilism and commercial war can not be limited to the transitional thinking system of "Yang-Wu(洋務)" and "Bian-Fa(變法)".

  • 현재의 전력계통은 날로 커지고 복잡해지고 있으며 이에 따라 계통의 사고발생 시 고장전류도 크게 증가하고 있다. 따라서 된 논문에서는 사고 시 큰 고장 전류를 신속하게 제거하기 위한 방법으로 한류기를 적용하고 그에 따른 계통에서의 영향을 평가하였다. 또한 계통에서 한류기의 영향을 평가하기 위해서 EMTP-RV(Electro Magnetic Transients Program - Restructured Version)론 이용하여 한류기가 투입된 22.9kV급 배전계통에서 1선 지락고장이 발생하였을 경우, 상전도 및 초전도 전류기의 특성에 따른 배전계통의 영향을 모의시험 하였으며 그 결과를 분석하였다.

Metabolic Imbalance between Glycolysis and Mitochondrial Respiration Induced by Low Temperature in Rice Plants (벼 냉해의 초기 기작으로서 생체막과 세포질 사이의 대사 불균형)

  • Correlations between mitochondrial respiration, glycolysis activity and overall growth activity of rice (Oryza sativa: cv. Dasan) seedlings during low temperature exposure were studied in order to provide insights into the underlying mechanism for the primary phase of chilling injury in plants. Among cellular membranes involved in energy metabolism, only the mitochondrial inner membrane showed not only physical phase transition at ca. $13^{\circ}C$, as monitored by ESR spin label, but also functional phase transition at the same temperature, as assessed by cytochrome c oxidase activity. The main regulatory enzyme of glycolysis, phosphofructokinase, in situ did not suffer phase transition of its activity at least in the $4{\sim}27^{\circ}C$ range. Low temperature caused a significant accumulation of glucose 6-phosphate (G6P) and fructose 6-phosphate (F6P), which disappeared almost completely on rewarming of the seedlings. Temperature profiles of the steady state levels of G6P and F6P revealed the inflection point appearing at around phase transition temperature of the mitochondrial membrane. The results conform to our previous proposition on the mechanism for the early stage events of chilling injury that the accumulation of glycolytic metabolites in cells due to metabolic imbalance at low temperature gives rise to an excess supply of electrons during rewarming period, which, in turn, results in overproduction of active oxygen in mitochondria.

Study on Solvent Mediated Phase Transformation Kinetics of Hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane(HNIW) (용매를 매체로 한 Hexanitrohexaazaisowurtzitane(HNIW)의 상전이 속도에 관한 연구)

  • The crystal growth and dissolution rates were calculated by solving a model equation, which involved the dissolution of the metastable phase($\beta$-HNIW) and growth of the stable phase($\varepsilon$-HNIW), together with the mass balance equation. The model has been successfully used to simulate available kinetic data for the $\beta$$\longrightarrow$$\varepsilon$ polymorphic transformation via a solution phase. From the effectiveness factor based on the two-step model, it was found that the surface integration contribution to the process was comparatively small, and a diffusion dependency decreased with an increase of the mass fraction of chloroform in the mixed solvents of ethyl acetate and chloroform. Appling these kinetics in process simulation allowed for the prediction of the product size of $\varepsilon$-HNIW.

Phase Transition and Relaxation Properties of Nonlinear-Optical KTP Single Crystal (비선형광학 단결정 KTP의 상전이 및 완화특성에 관한 연구)

  • We have carried out the measurements of complex dielectric constants with impedance/gain-phase analyzer using capacitor method and the experiments of high temperature X-ray powder diffraction with X-ray diffractometer using ${\theta}-2{\theta}$ scan method for the KTP single crystal which has the premium nonlinear optical properties. From the results of high temperature X-ray powder diffraction experiments, we have found that KTP does not undergo structural phase transition below $900^{\circ}C$. It is clear that KTP undergoes structural phase transition around $900^{\circ}C$ and belongs to orthorhombic above $900^{\circ}C$ still. However, we have applied phenomenological relation of dielectric relaxation to the results of complex dielectric measurement and have found that relaxation mechanism of KTP well satisfies the Cole-Cole relation over the temperature range from $-78^{\circ}C$ to $200^{\circ}C$. And also the relaxation time well satisfies the Vogel-Fulcher relation. It is regarded that the hopping and thermally activated diffusion mechanism may control the conduction behavior of KTP above $200^{\circ}C$.

A Solid-State NMR Study of Coordination Transformation in Amorphous Aluminum Oxide: Implication for Crystallization of Magma Ocean (고상 NMR을 이용한 비정질 알루미나의 상전이 연구: 마그마 바다 구성 용융체의 결정화 과정의 의의)

  • In order to have better insights into the chemical differentiation of Earth from its magma ocean phase to the current stratified structure, detailed information of crystallization kinetics of silicate melts consisting of the magma ocean is essential. The structural transitions in oxide glasses and melts upon crystallization provide improved prospects for a systematic and quantitative understanding of the crystallization processes. Here, we report the $^{27}Al$ 3QMAS NMR spectra for sol-gel synthesized $Al_2O_3$ glass with varying temperature and annealing time. The NMR spectra for the amorphous $Al_2O_3$ show well-resolved Al coordination environments, characterized with mostly $^{[4,5]}Al$ and a minor fraction of $^{[6]}Al$. The fraction of $^{[5]}Al$ in the alumina phase decreases with increasing annealing time at constant temperature. The NMR results of $Al_2O_3$ phases also imply that multiple processes (e.g., crystallization and/or changes in structural disorder within glasses) could involve upon its phase transition. The current results and method can be useful to understand crystallization kinetics of diverse natural and multi-component silicate glasses and melts. The potential result may yield atomic-level understanding of Earth's chemical evolution and differentiation from the magma ocean.

Lung Volumes and Diffusing Capacity in Bronchiectasis: Correlation with the Findings of High Resolutional CT (기관지확장증의 흉부고해상전산화단층촬영소견과 폐기량 및 폐확산능과의 관계)

  • Background: The patient with bronchiectasis may have obstructive ventilatory impairment combined with mild restrictive ventilatory impairment due to fibrosis of surrounding lung parenchyme and pleural adhesions caused by chronic recurrent pulmonary infections. Since hyperinflation or emphysematous change can be occured in bronchiectasis, pulmonary functions such as lung volumes and diffusing capacity may also vary with associated emphysema. Methods: For the evaluation of lung volumes and diffusing capacity in bronchiectasis with respect to the anatomic types and severity of bronchiectasis, a total of 40 cases comprising 24 cases of tubular, and 16 cystic type of bronchiectasis were analyzed retrospectively. Correlation between lung functions and extent of bronchiectasis or associated emphysema detected in HRCT were also evaluated. Results: Vital capacity(VC) tended to decrease in cystic type than in tubular type. As the severity of bronchiectasis became serious, the VC were significantly reduced, whereas the total lung capacity(TLC), residual volume(RV) and its ratio to the total lung capacity(RV/TLC) had no significant difference. Lung clearance index(LCI) was significantly increased in cystic type than in tubular type, whereas the slope of phase III in single breath nitrogen curve($\triangle$N2/L) was not significantly changed regard to the type and severity of bronchiectasis. DLCO and DLCO/VA reflecting diffusing capacity were significantly decreased in cystic type and also as the severity of bronchiectasis became serious. The correlation coefficient of VC, DLCO and LCI with the extent of bronchiectasis were -0.322, -0.339 and 0.487, respectively, whereas other parameters were not significantly correlated with the extent of bronchiectasis. VC and DLCO correlated negatively with the extent of emphysema while RV, RV/TLC, LCI and $\triangle$N2/L correlated positively. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the reduction of VC and diffusing capacity or uneven distribution of inspired gas in bronchiectasis are related to both the extent of bronchiectasis and associated emphysema while increased residual volume be related to the extent of associated emphysema alone.

동시 스퍼터링 방법에 의한 Cu-In 금속층 증착 및 저온 안정상에 대한 열역학적 고찰

  • 태양전지는 태양광에너지를 바로 전기에너지로 전환시키는 소자이다. 최근에는 다결정 태양전지의 응용가능성에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되어 오고 있다. 이 중 CuInSe2는 여러 가지 좋은 물성을 가지고 있어서, 저가의 고효율 태양전지를 위한 광흡수층 재료로 주목받고 있다. 현재까지 다양한 방법이 시도되었지만, 10% 이상의 고효율을 가지는 고품질을 박막을 얻는 방법은 진공증발증착법과 selenization 방법뿐이다. 이 중 진공증발증착법에 의하여 형성된 박막을 이용하여 가장 높은 효율의 태양전지를 얻을 수 있으나, 진공 장비의 대면적화가 힘들기 때문에 대면적 태양전지 제조가 힘들다는 단점이 있다. 따라서 selenization 방법을 이용하여 CuInSe2 박막을 제조하는 것이 가장 유망한 방법이라 할 수 있다. Selenization 방법은 Cu-In 금속층을 제작한 뒤 이를 selenium과 반응을 시키는 방법이다. 따라서 이 방법을 이용하여 박막을 제조할 때는 Cu-In 금속층의 물성 조절이 이후 생성되는 CuInSe2 박막의 물성향상에 필수적이다. 따라서 Cu-In 금속층의 물성에 대해 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 하지만 Cu-In 이 성분계에서 알려진 반가 없다. 저온에서는 반응속도론적으로 매우 느리게 반응이 일어나기 때문에 열역학적으로 안정한 상을 얻기가 힘들기 때문이다. 따라서 본 실험에 앞서 각 제조 조건에 따른 열역학적인 안정상을 계산하였다. 그 결과, 상온에서 Cu의 양이 증가함에 따라, In$\longrightarrow$CuIn2$\longrightarrow$Cu11In9$\longrightarrow$Cu7In3 상으로 변화하였다. 9$0^{\circ}C$이하의 온도에서는 CuIn2 상이 안정하였고, 10$0^{\circ}C$ 이상의 온도에서는 Cu11In9 상 두 가지로 존재하였고, Cu/In 인가전력비를 변화시켰을 때 조성비가 선형적으로 변하였다. 즉, Cu-In 동시스퍼터링법은 원하는 조성을 간편한 방법으로 정확하게 조절할 수 있는 방법이라 할 수 있다. 증착 온도를 변화시켰을 때는 9$0^{\circ}C$ 이하의 낮은 온도에서 존재하던 CuIn2 상이 10$0^{\circ}C$이상의 온도에서는 완전히 사라지고 In과 CuIn2 상이 사라지고 In 상과 Cu11In9 상이 나타났다. 상전이를 위하여 30$0^{\circ}C$의 높은 열처리 온도가 필요한 것은, 밀 저온 안정상이 형성된 뒤 각 원소들의 확산에 의해 상전이가 일어나기 때문에 이를 위한 충분한 열에너지를 가질 수 있는 온도가 필요하기 때문이다. 조성을 일정하게 유지하면서 챔버 압력을 변화시켰을 때는 형성되는 상의 미세구조난 결정성은 일정하였다. 인가전력, 증착온도, 챔버 압력 변화에 따른 상변화는 앞서 계산한 열역학적 결과와 정확히 일치하였다. 이는 동시스퍼터링 방법이 각 입자들을 원소 단위에서 균일하게 혼합할 수 잇는 방법이고, 또 입자들이 높은 에너지를 가지고 있기 때문이다. 즉, 원소 단위에서 균일한 반응을 하고, 가장 안정한 위치로 쉽게 이동할 수 있기 때문에 열역학적으로 안정한 상을 형성할 수 있는 것이다.

Characteristics of PLT Thin Films on MgO Substrates and Fabrication of Infrared Sensor (MgO 기판 위에 올린 PLT 박막의 특성과 적외선 센서의 제작)

  • The lanthanum-modified lead titanate (PLT) thin films on (100) cleaved MgO single crystal substrate have been prepared by RF magnetron sputtering method using PbO-rich target with varing La contents. The substrate temperature, working pressure, $Ar/O_{2}$, and RF power density of PLT thin films were $580^{\circ}C$ 10mTorr, 10/1, and $1.7W/cm^{2}$, respectively. In these conditions, the c-axis growth and tetragonality of the PLT thin films decreased for addition of La content and the PLT thin films showed diffuse phase transition from high temperature XRD patterns. The infrared sensor was fabricated. The remanent polarization was above $1.71{\mu}C/cm^{2}$ and the pyroelectric voltage was above 500mV with 10:1 signal to noise ratio.
