Measurement of solubility and miscibility of R-134a/PAG oil mixture (R-134a/PAG 오일 혼합물의 용해도 및 상용성 측정)

  • The solubility and miscibility measurement apparatus has been developed and used to obtain data for refrigerant/oil mixture. The solubility and miscibility data for R-134a/46 ISO VG Polyalkylen Glycol(PAG) oil mixture are obtained over the temperature range from -20 to 6$0^{\circ}C$ with a 1$0^{\circ}C$ interval and the oil concentration range from 0 to 90wt%. Using the experimental data, an empirical model is developed to predict the solubility relations for R-134a/PAG oil mixture at equilibrium. The average root-mean-square deviation between measured data and calculated results from the empirical model is 4.2%. Raoult's rule and Flory-Noggins theory are also used to predict mixture behavior. Immiscibility is observed for R-134a/46 ISO VG PAG oil mixture at low oil concentrations of 4.6, 10.1, and 20.4wt%.

  • 본 연구에서는 에너지 저장시스템인 ESS 에너지 분배에 관한 시스템을 설계 및 제작하고 성능을 평가하였다. ESS에 충전하는 방법은 현재 기존의 상용전원을 전지에 충전하는 방식과(연계형) 태양광 에너지를 이용한 방법(독립형)으로 나누어져 있다. 본 연구에서는 어느 한쪽을 선택해야하는 번거로움을 줄여 상용전원과 태양광을 동시에 충전할 수 있는 시스템으로 설계하였다. 이러한 방법은 날씨 및 기타 외부적 환경이 좋지 않을 경우 일반 상용전원(AC 220V)를 이용하며 외부적 환경이 좋을 때는 태양전지로 충전이 가능하도록 연계형과 독립형이 동시에 가능하도록 구성하였다. 또한 출력에서 기존의 AC 220V 출력뿐만 아니라 DC12V, 24V의 전압과 USB(5V)도 동시에 출력이 가능하게 설계하므로 필요한 전압을 외부의 인버터나 컨버터가 필요 없이 바로 사용할 수 있도록 배분하였다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 ESS의 전력을 효율적으로 배분하므로 효율성을 증가시키고 내부의 배터리를 보호하는 시스템을 구성하여 그 성능평가를 실시하였으며 실험결과 효율적으로 배분된 전력을 얻을 수 있음을 검증하였다.

A Study on the Compatibility of Nanocellulose-LDPE Composite (나노셀룰로오스-LDPE 복합체의 제조에 있어서 상용성에 대한 연구)

  • As declarations of carbon neutrality are spreading throughout the world, much research is being conducted on biodegradable polymers. In this study, nanocellulose, which comprises the largest amount of natural polymer currently available in the world, was proposed as a substitute for non-biodegradable polymers. We chose to modify the surface functional group of crystalline nanocellulose using glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane (GPTMS), which is a silane coupling agent, and the product was then used to form a film with low density polyethylene (LDPE). We then conducted measurements using a Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometer (FT-IR) in addition to measuring hydrophilic/lipophilicity of the surface functional group modification of crystalline nitrocellulose as well as that of a polymer composite using the hybrid nanocellulose (H-NC). For compatibility with petroleum-based polymers, the best tensile strength and transparency was found when the H-NC was reacted at pH 14 and 1 wt% compared with LDPE. From the test results, we found that it is possible to modify the surface functional groups of nanocellulose using a silane coupling agent. In addition, the high compatibility of nanocellulose with petroleum-based polymers is expected to help in reaching carbon neutrality by reducing the use of fossil fuels.

Modification of Polypropylene for Improving the Laser Transmission Weldability to Polycarbonate (폴리카보네이트와의 레이저 투과 용접성 개선을 위한 폴리프로필렌 개질)

  • Laser transmission welding of polymers is now used in a very wide range of industries due to its advantages. If the joining between polypropylene (PP) and polycarbonate (PC) occurs by laser transmission welding, the automotive headlight will get a large profit. However, PP/PC have poor miscibility. In the laser transmission welding results, the adhesion strength between PP and PC was very weak. In this study, PP was modified by grafting of glycidyl methacrylate (GMA). The adhesion strength of PC and PP-g-GMA as a reactive compatibilizer was observed. The adhesion strength was investigated by compatibility with PC, mechanical properties and laser transmission welding.

  • 섬유의 후가공공정은 그 목적에 따라 유연가공, 발수가공, 방추가공 등 여러 가지로 분류할 수 있고 실리콘은 이러한 공정에서 유용하게 사용되고 있다. 최근에는 이러한 물성을 복합적으로 갖는 다기능형 섬유의 요구가 커지고 있어 복합가공에 적당한 가공제가 필요하게 되었다. 본 연구에서는 섬유에 발수성, 유연성, 방추성, 내구성을 부여하기 위한 방법으로 불소계발수제와 상용성이 우수한 반응형 실리콘을 선정하고 이를 불소계발수제, 실란가교제등과 혼합(formulation)하여 면섬유에 적용하여 원하는 물성을 얻기 위한 최상의 가공조건을 개발하고자 한다.   • A series of polycarbonate(PC)/polyamide 6(PA6) blends were prepared by three different blending methods to investigate their compatibility. From the DSC results, all of these blends have two Tg's in their own Tg regions, and there was no significant depression of the melting point and the crystallization temperature of PA6. With respect to the microstructure of the blends by SEM, the phase separation occurred at very low blend compositions, PC/PA6=95/5 and 5/95, already. In addition, a method is proposed to determine the Flory-Huggins polymer-polymer interaction parameter(${\chi}_{12}$) in polymer blend systems by using the experimentally determined Tg's. The values of ${\chi}_{12}$ obtained were 0.0381, 0.0411, 0.0418, for solution casting, solution precipitation, and extrusion blending methods, respectively. These values were higher than the critical value of ${\chi}_{12}$,($({\chi}_{12})_c$, 0.0271). Therefore it was concluded that the PC/PA6 blend system have little compatibility.

Miscibility Improvement in PP and EPDM Blends via Introducing Specific Interaction (특정상호작용에 의한 폴리프로필렌/EPDM 블렌드의 상용성 향상)

  • Miscibility improvement between polypropylene(PP) and ethylene-propylene-diene-terpolymer (EPDM) was studied by introducing specific interaction into both polymers. PP was modified by grafting maleic anhydride(MAH) onto backbone, leading to MAH-grafted PP(PP-g-MAH). Sulfonated EPDM ionomer neutralized with bivalent zinc cation(ZnSEPDM) was used as one component. The blends of PP-g-MAH and ZnSEPDM were prepared at $200^{\circ}C$ in Brabender Roller Mixer. Fourier transform-infrared(FT-IR) spectroscopic and dynamic mechanical studies have been performed to investigate the miscibility. FT-IR spectral peak corresponding to carbonyl group in PP-g-MAH and that to sulfonate group in ZnSEPDM were shifted to lower and higher frequency with increasing ZnSEPDM content, respectively, in the blends. Glass transition temperature of ZnSEPDM was increased up to 70wt.% of ZnSEPDM, and again decreased above 70wt.%. It can be concluded from the shift of FT-IR characteristic peaks and the changes of glass transition temperatures that the miscibility between PP and EPDM was improved via introducing specific interaction, i.e., dipole-ion interaction.
