Heat Transfer Analysis for Micro Gas Sensor (마이크로 가스센서의 열전달 해석)

  • 마이크로 가스센서를 개발하기 위하여 가장 핵심적인 부품인 마이크로 핫플레이트에 대한 열전달을 해석하였다. 상용 열유동 해석 전용 프로그램인 FUENT를 이용하여 발열부와 주위의 실리콘 기판의 온도분포를 구하였다. 발열부에서는 전기저항에 의해서 일정한 양의 열이 균일하게 발생한다고 가정하고 그 열이 실리콘 기판의 끝을 통하여 빠져나간다고 가정하여 정상상태의 온도분포를 구하였다. 해석한 온도분포를 이용하여 균일한 온도분포를 얻을 수 있도록 발열선의 배치를 변화시켜가며 마이크로 핫플레이트의 설계를 완성하였다.

  • Recently, a validation research of maneuvering and attitude control logics of a spacecraft under a ground condition is getting increase by using operating simulators with compact and precise components. For that, a cold gas propulsion system is generally used for maneuvering and attitude control of spacecraft ground simulators for its simplicity and a high reliability. In the present study, major design parameters of a cold gas propulsion system are derived to meet mission requirements based on conceptual design results of a simulator. And additionally, commercial components with proper specifications are selected for system assembly.

  • Various types of ultra-wideband components with 10's of GHz bandwidth have been developed utilizing a uniplanar ultra-wideband balun, which is a simple microstrip-to-coplanar stripline (CPS) transition structure with the operating frequency range from near DC to over 40 GHz. Developed ultra-wideband components include antennas, mixers, doublers, and detectors in a carrier type and in a surface mountable type. One of surface mountable components, for example, single balanced doubler has output frequency 8 ~ 28 GHz. These high-Performance, low-cost ultra-wideband components may replace expensive conventional components, and also can be used to develop new multi-GHz OWE application areas.

  • Aircraft engine parts repair is a field belonging to the lowest level in the hierarchy of the aircraft industry, and it is marginalized in terms of research, compared to aircraft manufacturing or maintenance that belong to the upper level. On the other hand, in 2019, Korean Air's Powerplant Maintenance Center paid USD $130 million to foreign countries for engine parts repair, making it an industry with great need for localization. To achieve the goal of localizing engine parts repair, a certification system is needed that can perform independent repairs based on the development of repair technology, aligning contractual relationships with engine manufacturers, and free from dependence on engine manufacturers or foreign repair companies. The purpose of this study is to provide a basis for subsequent research to secure an actual certification system by suggesting the need for securing such a certification system.

  • An infrared imaging method is proposed in which direct measurement of the spectral response of CCD sensors can be achieved through digital image processing. This method allows for a simple and economic method to detect the spectral sensitivity of commercialized CCD sensors. The key components of the apparatus are a monochromator, CCD-sample supporter and a personal computer equipped with a digital image processing systems. Tentative experimentation conducted on the commercialized CCD camera has resulted in a fairly consistent agreement with the theoretical model.

  • While a lot of comparisons of DBMS performance for processing large scale database are given as results of bench-mark tests, there are few comparisons of DBMS performance for processing small scale database. Therefore, in this study, we compared and analyzed on the performance of commercial DBMS and public DBMS for small scale database. Analysis results show that while Oracle has low performance on the operations of update and insert due to the overhead of rollback for data safely, MySQL and MS-SOL have good performance without additional overhead.

  • In this study, the lightweight design of butterfly valve disc component for power plant based on topology optimization was performed. Here, commercial finite element (FE) analysis software was used. The external shape of the basic disc model was not deformed, and the internal element density was removed to make it lightweight. Optimal design was performed each other after the disc plate and two brackets attached on the surface of the disc were separated. Once the optimal shapes were selected, they were assembled to build up the 3-D lightweight valve disc model. After applying pressure to this model, FE analysis was performed to confirm the structural safety.

  • The operation of a gas-turbine engine gradually deteriorates the performance of its main components and often generates the defects of its components. The GPA method has been usually used for the diagnosis of the deterioration. In this study, the diagnostic code of the engine performance using the thermodynamic sensitivity between the sensed parameters and the health parameters has been developed without an application of the commercial program. The single performance deterioration of the turbo-shaft engine for SUAV has been estimated with this code.

Development of silicone mold applying corrosive pattern of tactile system (촉감시스템의 부식패턴을 적용한 실리콘 금형 개발)

  • In this study, the start-type molded material, silicone resin(RTV-3040) was used to develop a mold that is utilized for embossing pattern. After selecting a required pattern using the commercial package (Freeform), we examined whether this is applicable to components creating projective embossed side on the surface. We responded to products that require corrosive pattern, such as aluminum mold, by making the starting type when small amounts of components are developing. However, the development of silicone mold that is applied to corrosive pattern showed the possible reduction in time and cost.

  • A two-dimensional thermal response and ablation simulation code for predicting charring material ablation and shape change on solid rocket nozzle is presented. For closing the problem of thermal analysis, Arrhenius' equation and Zvyagin's ablation model are used. The moving boundary problem and endothermic reaction in thermal decomposition are solved by rezoning and effective specific heat method. For simulation of complicated thermal protection systems, this method is integrated with a three-dimensional finite-element thermal and structure analysis code through continuity of temperature and heat flux.
