Landscape Design for Masan Robot Land (마산로봇랜드 조경설계)

  • A theme park is not just a recreational space for leisure activities, but also a place of storytelling as collected around abstract boundaries called themes. These stories are 'a space that tells the meaning' that the visitor is looking for and the Robot Land space offers robots, humans, and nature. This study is a description of the design strategy and content of the work which was elected as a subject of the subsequent rank negotiation of the Masan Robot Land design contest for the selection of a private contractor. The focus of the plan is, first, the organizational power of each space and the delivery power of a theme for the history of revisits, which might be considered depending on whether or not the theme park has been successful in the visitor's mind. Second, it is to actively use the potential of Masan, which is not only the key hub of the mechanical industry but also has beautiful coastal resources. First, they created a space that can flexibly react depending on the user's desire and the change of form, minimizing environmental damage by using a linear metabolism that can provide an amalgam of the elemental characteristics of robots, humans, and nature as motifs. They introduced a planting plan for the admissions square, an existing forest, slope, vacation spot, the inside of a complex, and Eco Island, etc. by utilizing symbolic meaning and adjusting to the spatial characteristics of each space. In addition, they sought a detailed space by setting up zones tailored to the use and character of the subject area, having exhibitions and education about robots, vacation facilities for lodgers, various recreational and commercial facilities, and space for utopian gardens as themes. They planned Masan Robot Land to be a true cultural space that creates mental richness on the basis of not only the economical effects but also local emotion.

  • Keiji Kobo is a unique self-generated design research group in Japan, which was founded in 1928 when Bauhaus movement was in its peak, and which lasted ten years until the end of the Second World War, when any activity of the group became virtually impossible due to the war. With insight to see the future, the group aimed at Modern Design advocating a new spirit in architecture, and played a significant role in prosperity of Japanese Modern Design assimilating Western design trends. Pursuing of craft works for everyday life--practical furniture works--Keiji Kobo actively executed various projects to realize modern philosophy. The range of the works of this group was very large: survey, mock-up, experiment, research, exhibition, lecture, order-based sale, advertising and writing. The works of the group were oriented to serious academicism, not compromising with commercialism. Considering the peculiar political situation such as Japanese Militarism, the spirit of functionalism that the group pursued was surprisingly academical and pure. This group was relatively small and clumsy, which lasted as short as around ten years. However, strong motivation was in their seemingly quiet movements, and the influence of the group cannot be underestimated even with today's criteria. There were a number of pioneers who contributed to today's prosperity of Japan and Keiji Kobo can be estimated to be one of the pioneers in the field of design. It was found that the contemporary intellectuals hoped that the committment and activity of the group would contribute to modernization of the life quality of ordinary people. In a sense, Keiji Kobo can be estimated to be a little Japanese equivalent for Bauhaus that could not fully bloom.

Characteristics of Unsold Land and Sites Needing Value Enhancement (미매각 토지의 원인진단 및 가치제고 사업지구 선정 방안)

  • This paper defined the concept of unsold land and diagnosed the cause of unsold land of LH business site. The results are showing as follows. First, unsold land is defined as land could not be sold until the completion of the project, and plan to sell the unsold land can be changed partially. Second, the status of unsold land in the 226 project sites were analyzed. $146km^2$ area corresponding to 74.8% of the total capital area($195km^2$) are unsold. By purpose, co-residential($38km^2$), industry($21km^2$), exclusive residential($16.4km^2$), commercial business($12.5km^2$), education($10.2km^2$) was larger in order. Third, value enhancement target project sites were selected and its symptoms and the cause of unsold land were analyzed. For the project site over average unsold rate, 6 sites located in province and 2 sites located in capital region were selected through collecting the practitioners and expert opinion. These 8 sites are characterized that sale of land for medium and large co-residential, urban support facilities, block-shaped house and attached house was inactive. Also, these sites commonly experienced economic fluctuations, changes in market demand, supply and demand mismatch, inflexible planning standards.

Changes in Subway Traffic in Seoul during Social Distancing due to the Spread of COVID-19 and G eographic Characteristics of the Area Behind the Station (COVID-19 확산에 따른 사회적 거리두기 동안 나타나는 서울시 지하철 통행 변화와 역 배후지역의 지리적 특성)

  • This study identifies the characteristics of changes in the subway passengers and the number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in Seoul. We classify subway stations by applying the principal components extracted based on the correlation between them, and analyzed the passenger traffics and geographical characteristics of each cluster. We extract the "top decile" and "lowest decile" stations among the subway stations that the number of subway passengers have decreased in 2020 compared to 2019, and then examine the population and land use characteristics of station areas both station groups. As the result of cluster analysis according to principal component scores, we obtain 6 cluster types. Subway stations belong to the top deciles which have shown the larger decrease in the passenger traffics tend to more sensitive to COVID-19 shocks. Stations belonging to the top tenth percentile of reduced traffic have a high distribution of daytime traffic, and the hinterland of the station has relatively high land use related to commercial and cultural, religious, and social activities. Therefore, it is expected that the regional resilience around subway stations will also show differences in degree by type.

Establishment Model of Entrance and Exit User of Urban Railway Station (도시철도역 출입구 유출입 이용자 추정 모형 수립)

  • Although the number of users of urban railways is greatly influenced by the land use plan around the railway station, Korea has been studying this problem in a small scale, so that the entrance width is uniformly calculated irrespective of the land use plan, And there is little deviation. Therefore, this study aims to establish a demand estimation model for the entrance and exit of urban railway stations. For this purpose, the demand, land use area, and socioeconomic indicators for each of the 20 urban railway stations were surveyed at 200m and 500m Regression model. The model is based on the assumption that the dependent variable (response variable) of the model is set to 1 day, peak 1 hour, peak time 5 minutes, Education, and park) and socioeconomic indicators (population, employer, employee, and student) as independent variables (explanatory variables). As a result, it was analyzed that the fit of the model is more statistically significant when the use area of the land use by 500 meters of the center radius of the city rail is used as an independent variable and the demand for the daily use of the railway station is used as a dependent variable. The purpose of this study is to estimate the optimal size of urban railway entrance in order to improve the mobility of the user and the transportation weak in urban railway station.

Study on Legal Regulations for Utilization of Drone in Private Security (민간경비에서 드론 활용과 법적 규제에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, drone applications have been expanded not only in the military and security fields but also in daily life such as commercial and sports, and there is also a growing interest in using drone for private security work. This study focuses on the discussion on the use of drones in private security, drones regulation in the related laws such as the Private Security Act and the Aviation Safety Law, and major issues in accepting the Private Security Act. First, it focuses on the scope of private security work as defined by the Private Security Act, focusing on the use of drones as surveillance, information gathering, guidance and warning services, evacuation services, search and related material transport services, respectively. Second, the related laws for the use of drones in private security work include the Private Security Act and the Aviation Safety Act. However, the Private Security Act does not prescribe the current drones and the use of drones is regulated by Aviation Safety Act. Third, it is necessary to adjust the qualifications and authority range of security guards in the Private Security Act, to accept the drones as a type of security equipment, and to consider how countermeasures against threat types using drones should be accepted in the Private Security Act.

Grafting Characteristics of Several Kiwifruit Cultivars as Affected by Rootstocks (몇 가지 키위 품종의 대목에 따른 접목 활착 특성)

  • To date, various kiwifruit cultivars have been developed and released. Asexual propagation by grafting onto seedlings rootstock have been widely utilized commercially in fruit trees including kiwifruit (Actinidia spp.). Most of commercial kiwifruit cultivars belong to A. chinensis and A. deliciosa. Recently, several cultivars were developed by interspecific hybridization with different species including A. arguta. There is a possibility for graft-incompatibility due to interspecific hybridization and therefore, we investigated graft-compatibility of newly released yellow-fleshed kiwifruit cultivars and a hybrid cultivar with various rootstocks of different species. The yellow-fleshed cultivars grafted onto same species, A. chinensis 'Kuimi', showed good shoot elongation, about 1 m in length 50 days after grafting. In contrast, the shoot elongation of the yellow-fleshed kiwifruit grafted onto different species was retarded. The shoot length of a hybrid cultivar (A. arguta × A. deliciosa) 'Skinny Green' grafted onto four different species was about 1 m in length, showing good graft compatibility with other species. Nevertheless, long term studies for graft compatibility of hybrid cultivars are still needed since graft-incompatibility between different species can occur several years later.

Effects of Producing Medium Size Fruits on the Profitability of an Apple Orchard (사과 중소과 생산이 농가소득에 미치는 영향)

  • The management system and profitability were compared for the commercial orchards in the apple producing districts from April to October, 2011. The present study reasonably graded a large fruit as a fruit of heavier than 300g for 'Fuji' and 330g for 'Hongro' apples. As comparing cropping density and yield efficiency, 'Fuji' apples showed 3.28 fruits per TCA of crop density and 0.96 kg per TCA of yield efficiency and 'Hongro' demonstrated 4.04 fruits and 1.01 kg. With the application of the results above, the orchard management systems was classified into 3 classes as the orchard for large-size fruits, medium-size fruits, and combined size fruits. The increase of cropping density made the increase of fruit yield with medium-size fruits in unit area but brought about the decrease of large size fruits. The difference in fruit size failed to make significant differences in fruit characteristics. The orchard management system for producing medium size fruits performed decrease in input cost and improved the profitability in orchard management.

Investigation of Antibody Titers after Inoculation with Commercial Equine Influenza Vaccines in Thoroughbred Yearlings (Thoroughbred 1세말에서 상업용 말 인플루엔자 백신접종 후 항체역가 추적)

  • The object of this study was to evaluate the change of antibody titers on virus strains after inoculation with commercial killed equine influenza (EI) vaccines in horses. Serum antibodies of 20 Thoroughbred yearlings were detected using hemagglutination inhibition test for 41 weeks. Second vaccination is inoculated 4 weeks after the initial vaccination. Most of antibody titers were not increased until 4 weeks after first vaccination. The highest titers were detected 6-10 weeks after vaccination. The titers were decreased slowly and maintained for 16 weeks after inoculation. We could barely detect the antibody 41 weeks after vaccination in most cases. Vaccine anergia were appeared in 3 horses (15%) but it depended on virus strains. A/Equine/La Plata/93(H3N8) strain that induce high and durable antibody responses was the most effective among three strains. This study presents the first comprehensive data on the endurance of antibody titers against EI. Our data also suggests that yearlings should be inoculated three times in order to maintaining optimal antibody titers against EI. We speculate the causes of anergia were vaccine break down or individual specificity. Further research is needed to investigate immunological unresponsiveness. This was the first study on strain of equine vaccine in Korea.

A Study on the Exercise Adherence of the Elderly Woman at Non-Commercial Sports Centers (비영리 사회체육시설 이용 여성고령자의 운동지속에 관한 연구)

  • An objective of this study is to verify factor of exercise adherence of the elder who have carried on exercise for many years at non-commercial sports center. To achieve the objective, I used ethnography, a method of qualitative study. The subjects for this study were 5 members of non-commercial sports center. They have been attending lesson which I have been running Taichi for more than 2 years and carried on exercise for more than 5 years. Main results of this study are as follows. First, the elder who have kept on with exercise showed the eagerness to participate and capacity of self-management through their exercise adherence for many years. Second, various factors such as social, environmental, and social psychological on had a strong effect on a continuous exercise performance. The most remarkable thing of results of this study is a close human connection among instructors, manager and companion is the most effectual factor of the elder's exercise adherence.
