쇄빙상선의 북극해 항로 항행 모델링 (The Northern Sea Route Transit Modeling of Icebreaking Cargo Vessels)

  • Main purpose of the study is to develop a transit model for icebreaking cargo vessels in the Northern Sea Route and to select optimum sea routes with the shortest navigation time and the lowest operation cost. This numerical model executed with basic information such as ship capabilities, transit directions and months of transit, can calculate total transit distance and elapsed time, mean speed, operation cost for each vessel. In the transit model. environment information such as the site-specific ice conditions, wave and wind states are utilized for four different months (April, June, August, and October) along the Northern Sea Route. The model also defines a necessary period of an icebreaker escort. Then the optimum sea routes are selected and visually displayed on the digital map using a commercial software ArcGIS. Usefulness of the selected sea routes is discussed.

합성얼음을 이용한 얼음의 두께와 수선면각 변화에 따른 쇄빙상선 저항특성 연구 (Study on Resistance Performance of Icebreaking Cargo Vessel According to Variation of Thickness and Waterline Angle by Using Synthetic Ice)

  • The present paper deals with characteristics of resistance performance according to the variation of synthetic ice thickness and hull form. The resistance test has been conducted with pack ice condition in Pusan National University towing tank. Waterline angle has been chosen as a main parameter for the variation of hull form characteristics, which is the most important factor especially in icebreaking cargo vessel. The serial comparisons of resistance test have been done with the variation of hull form parameter as well as with the different thickness of synthetic ice. The different trend of resistance performances with increasing of waterline angle has been shown at each synthetic ice thickness. The present test results is expected to be confirmed by comparing the test results in ice tank in the near future.

  • The viscous free surface flow around KRISO container ship (KCS) is computed using the finite volume based multi block RANS code, WAVIS developed at KRISO. The free surface is captured with the Level-Set method and the realizable k-$\varepsilon$ model is employed for turbulence closure. The computations are carried out at model scale. For accurate free surface solution and its stable convergence the computations are performed with a suitable grid refinement around the free surface by applying an implicit discretization method based on a finite volume method to the Level-Set formulation. In all computational cases the numerical results agree well with experimental measurements.

  • 북극항로(NSR)를 통항하는 상선과 화물량이 매년 중가추세에 있다. 쇄빙선의 도움을 받아 북극항로를 통항하는 상선의 안전한 항해를 위협하는 가장 큰 요인은 얼음과의 충돌이다. 따라서 선박과 얼음의 충돌 메커니즘을 규명하기 위한 노력이 관련 연구자들에 의해서 활발히 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 북극항로를 운항하는 내빙선과 유빙의 충돌을 가정한 예인수조실험을 실시하며, 충돌 후 얼음의 운동(속력, 궤적)을 머신비전검사를 통해서 계측한다. 아울러 오차계산을 통해서 머신비전검사 기법의 정밀도를 검증한다.

해양력 강화를 위한 우리나라의 선원양성에 관한 연구 (The Study of Seafarers Education System for the Sea Power in Korea)

  • 본 연구에서는 상선과 어선의 해기사, 해군의 함정장교 양성기관의 해기교육 시스템을 비교분석 함으로써 해양력 확보를 위한 해기교육 상황을 파악하였다. 분석결과 상선의 해기사 양성과정을 제외하고는 선박운영에 관한 교육과정이 상대적으로 낮은 비중을 차지하고 있었다. 선박운영에 필수적인 해기교육의 강화는 해양력 확보에 필수적이지만 인력공급이 어려운 선원직의 특수성이 교육과정에 반영된 것으로 보인다. 우수한 선원의 확보와 해기교육 문제를 해결하기 위해서는 국가차원의 관심과 지원방안이 마련되어야 할 것이다.

쇄빙상선의 빙하중 추정식 고찰 (Ice Load Prediction Formulas for Icebreaking Cargo Vessels)

  • One of the concerns that arise during navigation in ice-covered waters is the magnitude of ice loads encountered by ships. However, the accurate estimation of ice loads still remains as a rather difficult task in the design of icebreaking vessels. This paper focuses on the development of simple ice load prediction formulas for the icebreaking cargo vessels. The maximum ice loads are expected from unbroken ice sheet and these loads are most likely to be concentrated at the bow area. Published ice load data for icebreaking vessels, from the model tests and also from full-scale sea trials, are collected and then several ice load prediction formulas are compared with these data. Finally, based on collected data, a semi-empirical ice load prediction formula is recommended for the icebreaking cargo vessels.

  • For moving cargo between the North Pacific region and Northern European ports, the Northern Sea Route, along Russia's coastline, is 35-60% shorter than the traditionally used routes through the Suez and Panama Canals. In addition to its shorter distance, there exists and extensive ports and shipping infrastructure, and the potential for developing new markets in Russia and other northern countries including Korea and Japan. These incentives attracted considerable attention from the international shipping and shipbuilding industries and have formed a cooperative international research program, called as the International Northern Sea Route Programme (INSROP). This paper is a general compilation of the historical usage, recent trade developments, the physical environment, and the practical considerations that may shape future operational mode of shipping in the NSR based on results from INSROP reports. This study focuses mainly on an operation of commercial icebreaking vessels that may be utilized along the NSR.

  • 선박에서 선원들에게 발생하는 질병 및 상해는 각각의 선박이나 근무여건, 근무부서에 따라 다양하게 나타나고 있으며, 그에 대한 통계치를 대형 상선회사 및 중소형 상선회사 별로 수집하여 분석함으로써 발생경향을 알 수 있다. 따라서 여러 유형의 선박에서 근무하고 있는 선원들을 대상으로 질병 및 상해에 대한 현황을 파악하고, 선령별 표본선박을 구성하여 선박에서 선원의 근무환경을 알아보고자 하였다. 또한, 우리나라 해운회사별 상병관리시스템 및 선진해운국인 일본의 선원의료지원시스템에 대해 조사하였다.

유한체적법을 이용한 상선주위의 난류유동 계산에 관한 연구 (Development of Computational Methods for Viscous Flow around a Commercial Ship Using Finite-Volume Methods)

  • 선수와 선미에 벌브를 가진 현대적인 상선 주위의 난류유동을 해석하기 위해 유한체적법을 이용한 RANS 방정식의 해법이 개발되었다. 복잡한 선수미의 격자계 생성을 위해 다중블록 선체표면 격자계 생성 기법이 도입되었고, 타원형 미분 방정식의 해를 이용하여 O-H 형태의 공간 격자계생성 기법이 이용되었다. 지배방정식의 대류항과 확산항은 각각 QUICK과 중앙차분법을 이용하여 근사되었고, 속도-압력 연성을 위해 SIMPLEC법이 채택되었다. 개발된 방법은 KRISO 3600TEU 컨테이너선에 적용하여 유선가시화 실험 및 반류계측 결과와 비교하였다. 계산 결과는 선수와 선미에 벌브를 가진 현대적인 선형 주위의 유동 해석을 위해서도 이러한 수치계산 방법이 적용될 수 있음을 보여주고 있다.

갑상선 전절제술 과거력이 있는 부갑상선 선종 환자에서 수술 중 초음파 검사를 이용한 최소침습 부갑상선 절제술 1예 (Minimally Invasive Parathyroidectomy using Intraoperative Ultrasonography in Parathyroid Adenoma Patients with a History of Total Thyroidectomy)

  • A 65-year-old patient who underwent total thyroidectomy 10 years ago was suspected of having a parathyroid adenoma, and minimally invasive parathyroidectomy was planned. Preoperative ultrasonography(USG) and 99mTc MIBI scan indicated a left lower parathyroid lesion. In the first operation, intraoperative parathyroid hormone monitoring (IOPTH) was not possible due to hospital circumstances. Although no adenomatous lesion was found in the expected surgical field, surgery was completed after removing lesions around the left lower parathyroid gland. However, post-surgery, parathyroid hormone did not decrease at all, so a second operation was performed with IOPTH preparation. In the second operation, intraoperative ultrasonography was performed, and a suspected adenoma lesion was removed from the left upper lesion. He has been under follow-up for 3 years without complications. Surgeon-peformed intraoperative USG and preoperative scintigraphy had advantages in determining the localization of parathyroid lesion even withiout IOPTH.
