  • This study collected samples of Korean dark sleepers (Odontobutis interrupta) in the Keumdang Stream from March to November 2021 to investigate their feeding habits. The sizes were classified by age (1 year and 2 years old, and 3 years or older). The food organisms of O. interrupta included Isopoda, Amphipoda, and Decapoda of the Malacostraca, Ephemeroptera, Odonata, Hemiptera, Plecoptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, and Trichoptera belonging to the aquatic insect of Arthropoda (accounting for 86.6% of the population), Tubificida, Haplotaxida, and Rhynchobdellida belonging to the Clitellata of Annelida (accounting for 7.3%), Systellommatophora and Mesogastropoda belonging to the Gastropodo of Mollusca (accounting for 2.8%), fish (accounting for 3.3%), and fish eggs. Korean dark sleepers fed mostly on aquatic insects, fish, crustaceans, and annelids. Aquatic insects were the most important food source, with 70.1% of the population, 31.7% in biomass, and 72.6% in the index of relative importance. Korean dark sleepers were carnivorous in diet and belonged to the stalker in food intake characteristics and forms. A food migration was observed since less Diptera was found, and more fish, Decapoda, Trichoptera, and Odonata were found in the biomass of the feed consumed by larger species. Diptera (65.3%), Haplotaxida (14.5%), Ephemeroptera (7.0%), Diptera (58.6%), Ephemeroptera (24.5%), fish (4.8%) Diptera (30.1%), Ephemeroptera (20.4%), Isopoda (13.3%) were mainly fed in the autumn.

  • To investigate the food organisms and feeding selectivity of slimy (Leiognathus nuchalis) during the postlarval stage, the gut contents of the fish, captured in Kwangrang Bay in 1995, were observed. The food organisms in the gut were composed of copepod egg and nauplius, Tintinnopsis spp. and Codonellopsis sp. The indices of relative importance (IRI) indicated that Tintinnopsis spp. was the most dominant food item ($80.6\%$), and copepod nauplius was the next ($18.5\%$). Tintinnopsis spp. was the most favorite food item: it occupied $73.8\%$ of gut contents, though it did $39.2\%$ of microzooplankton in the surrounded water. The composition of copepod nauplius was higher in the larvae shorter than 2.0 mm NL. As slimy larvae grew, the size of food organisms in the gut was not changed, and their number increased, and the selectivity for food items increased.

  • A study on the diel activities and feeding habits of Pseudobagrus brevicorpus living in the Daegacheon Stream of Nakdonggang River was conducted in September 2017. Diel activity took place during the night, just after sunset and just before sunrise. Pseudobagrus brevicorpus swam in the middle depths, and when they found prey organisms, approached and consumed them immediately. Fish were divided by age into three groups. Prey organisms whose index of relative importance in the stomach contents exceeded 1% belonged to the orders Ephemeroptera (80.8%), Diptera (8.6%), and Trichoptera (8.5%). An index of relative importance by age showed that the Ephemeroptera are very important prey organisms, and the sizes of prey organisms increase with fish growth.

  • The proposed flood forecasting system combines a flood routing model with a parameter estimation model. In the parameter estimation model system states and parameters are treated with the extended state-space formulation. The extended Kalman filter is adopted to estimate the states and parameters. A sensitivity analysis is used to investigate the relative significance of the parameters. Insensitive parameters are treated as constants and parameters that are mutually correlated are combined in a simplified form. The developed estimation methodology is applied todam sites of the multi-purpose reservoirs in Korea. The forecasted hydrographs from the extended Kalman filter satisfactorily coincide with the observed. From the time sequence plots of estimated parameters, it is found that the storage coefficient is almost constant, but exponent varies appreciably in time.

  • This research aims to examine and reevaluate the risk management procedures required for facilitating E-Commerce exports by Small and Medium-sized Enterprises(SMEs) in the context of customs risk management procedures. Based on risk management studies, this research focuses on three research questions. First, what courses comprise the export risk management structure? Second, what are the key issues in risk management in facilitating E-Commerce export clearance? Third, based on the research results, what are the implications and improvements for export customs risk management in boosting SMEs' E-Commerce exports? The research concluded that risk control for SMEs' E-Comerce exports should be further strengthened based on a compliance management approach. To achieve this, the customs authorities should develop a new method of reasoning about the difficulties SMEs face in exporting and the risks of failure to comply with the regulations at the foreign markets.

  • The scaling properties on the length distribution of microcrack populations from Tertiary crystalline tuff are investigated. From the distribution charts showing length range with 15 directional angles and five groups(I~V), a systematic variation appears in the mean length with microcrack orientation. The distribution charts are distinguished by the bilaterally symmetrical pattern to nearly N-S direction. The whole domain of the length-cumulative frequency diagram for microcrack populations can be divided into three sections in terms of phases of the distribution of related curves. Especially, the linear middle section of each diagram of five groups represents a power-law distribution. The frequency ratio of linear middle sections of five groups ranges from 46.6% to 67.8%. Meanwhile, the slope of linear middle section of each group shows the order: group V($N60{\sim}90^{\circ}E$, -2.02) > group IV($N20{\sim}60^{\circ}E$, -1.55) > group I($N60{\sim}90^{\circ}W$, -1.48), group II($N10{\sim}60^{\circ}W$, -1.48) > group III($N10^{\circ}W{\sim}N20^{\circ}E$, -1.06). Five sub-populations(five groups) that closely follow the power-law length distribution show a wide range in exponents( -1.06 - -2.02). These differences in exponent among live groups emphasizes the importance of orientation effect. In addition, breaks in slope in the lower parts of the related curves represent the abrupt development of longer lengths, which is reflected in the decrease in the power-law exponent. Especially, such a distribution pattern can be seen from the diagram with $N10{\sim}20^{\circ}E,\;N10{\sim}20^{\circ}W$ and $N60{\sim}70^{\circ}W$ directional angles. These three directional angles correspond with main directions of faults developed around the study area. The distribution chart showing the individual characteristics of the length-cumulative frequency diagrams for 15 directional angles were made. By arraying above diagrams according to the categories of three groups(A, B and C), the differences in length-frequency distributions among these groups can be easily derived. The distribution chart illustrates the importance of analysing microcrack sets separately. From the related chart, the occurrence frequency of shorter microcracks shows the order: group A > group B > group C. These three types of distribution patterns could reveal important information on the processes occurred during microcrack growth.
