Terrain Referenced Navigation Simulation using Area-based Matching Method and TERCOM (영역기반 정합 기법 및 TERCOM에 기반한 지형 참조 항법 시뮬레이션)

  • TERCOM(TERrain COntour Matching), which is the one of the Terrain Referenced Navigation and used in the cruise missile navigation system, is still under development. In this study, the TERCOM based on area-based matching algorithm and extended Kalman filter is analysed through simulation. In area-based matching, the mean square difference (MSD) and cross-correlation matching algorithms are applied. The simulation supposes that the barometric altimeter, radar altimeter and SRTM DTM loaded on board. Also, it navigates along the square track for 545 seconds with the velocity of 1000km per hour. The MSD and cross-correlation matching algorithms show the standard deviation of position error of 99.6m and 34.3m, respectively. The correlation matching algorithm is appeared to be less sensitive than the MSD algorithm to the topographic undulation and the position accuracy of the both algorithms is extremely depends on the terrain. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an algorithm that is more sensitive to less terrain undulation for reliable terrain referenced navigation. Furthermore, studies on the determination of proper matching window size in long-term flight and the determination of the best terrain database resolution needed by the flight velocity and area should be conducted.

Usefulness of the PRESS Technique using 3.0T Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy for Evaluation of Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease Patients (비알콜성 지방간환자 평가를 위한 3.0T 고자기장 자기공명분광법을 이용한 PRESS 기법의 유용성)

  • This study was to evaluate the clinical usefulness of the PRESS technique based on the correlation between PRESS technique and biopsy results by applying 3.0T high magnetic field MRS technique for evaluation of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease patients. This experiment were carried out using a 3.0T magnetic resonance imaging equipment. The part data of each spectrum is taken by peak area integration. The part data of resonance peak was used to calculate relative ratio. MR spectral peak in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is from 0.9 to 1.6 ppm. According to MRS method study result, Patients with NAFLD were obtained with 94% sensitivity and 80% specificity(p=0.000). When compared to normal based on MRS and Biopsy results was valid correlation(r=0.79, p=0.04). Results for NAFLD(r=0.89, p=0.002) also showed a correlation. Therefore, PRESS technique to evaluate patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, the distribution difference between normal liver and fatty liver part is significantly distinguished. Biopsy and MRS fatty liver peak ratio(%) proves high lipid over grade(r = 0.7).

The Energy Conserving Algorithm of the System Acted by an Exponential Impact Force (지수형 충격력을 받는 시스템의 에너지보존 알고리듬)

  • This paper aims at investigating the exact dynamic response of the system undergoing a exponential impact force from the viewpoints of conservations of momentum and energy. The midpoint method applied in the Newmark's family algorithm is found to be identical to the case of the application of the trapezoidal method which provides conservations of momentum and energy. For the linear impact force the mid point, the trapezoidal and the (n+1) point method exactly meet the conservation characteristics independent of the size of integration interval. On the other hand, constants for the dynamic motion resulting from the nonlinear impact are underestimated or overestimated by these method mentioned above. To overcome this indispensible error, the Simpson 1/3 method as one of multi step methods whose advantages is to use longer time interval with the same number of evaluation functions is adopted for the exact conservations of momentum and energy. Moreover, the suggested method is expected to expand the similar algorithm for the general dynamic motion including finite rotations.

Accurate Measurement of the Thermal Conductivity of Electronic Materials Using the Flash Method (섬광법을 이용한 전자재료의 열전도율 정밀측정)

  • 일반적으로 섬광법으로 열전도율을 구하기 위해서는 섬광법으로 열확산계수를 측정하고, 시차주사열량계(Differential Scanning Calorimetry, DSC)로 비열측정을 하며 아르키메데스의 원리를 이용한 용적밀도를 구하여 이들 각각의 값을 사용하여 열전도율을 얻는다. 따라서 열전도율을 정밀하게 측정하기 위해서는 이 세 가지 물성치를 측정할 때 수반되는 오차요인을 종합적으로 검토하여 개선하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 섬광법으로 열확산계수를 측정할 때 시료의 전면에 조사되는 빛의 흡수율을 향상시키고 배면에서의 온도상승의 감지를 증대할 목적으로 시료 양면에 흑연코팅을 하게 된다. 이때 코팅된 흑연이 시료에 부가적으로 열저항을 증가시켜서 열확산계수를 측정하는데 가장 큰 오차요인이 되고 있다. 한편 비열은 대부분 DSC로 측정하는데, 시료와 용기의 열접촉 정도에 따라 큰 오차요인이 되기도 한다. 본 연구에서는 열확산계수를 정밀하게 측정하기 위해서 시료에 부가적인 열저항으로 작용하는 흑연코팅의 두께와 시료배면에서의 온도상승곡선 간의 상관관계를 실험식으로 도출하였으며 이방법은 열확산계수를 정밀하게 측정하는데 매우 유효한 방법임이 입증되었다. 또한 DSC의 접촉에서의 문제점을 해결하기 위해서 시료배면에서의 무차원 시간축(t/$t_{max}$)을 도입하였으며. 무차원 시간축에 따른 온도상승 곡선에서 표준시료와 측정시료의 half time($t_{1/2}$)의 0.5 배와 1.5배 사이 구간을 적분한 뒤 비교하여 열량계산으로부터 비열을 구하는 방법을 새롭게 개발하였으며 기존의 DSC에 비하여 정밀도를 향상시킬 수 있었다. 결론적으로 새롭게 제안된 측정기법들은 열확산계수 및 비열 혹정 시의 근본적인 오차요인을 혁신적으로 해결함으로써 정밀하고 신뢰성 있는 열전도율을 측정할 수 있음을 입증할 수 있었다.

Geometric Transform-Invariant Gait Recognition Using Modified Radon Transform (변형된 라돈 변환을 이용한 기하학적 형태 불변 보행인식)

  • This paper presents a scale and rotation-invariant gait recognition method using R-transform, which is computed by projecting squared coefficients of Radon transform. Since R-transform is invariant to translation, rotation, and scaling, it particularly suitable for extracting object poses without camera calibration. Coefficients of R-transform are used to compute correlation, and the maximum correlation value determines the similarity between two gait images. The proposed method requires neither camera calibration nor geometric compensation, and as a result, it makes robust gait recognition possible without additional compensation for translation, rotation, and scaling.

Effectiveness of Isolation-System on Reduction of Seismic Response of Primary and Secondary Structures (주구조물 및 부구조물에 대한 감진장치의 지진응답 감소 효율성)

  • The effectiveness of the isolation system installed at the base of the primary structure and at the support of the substructure mounted on the primary structure is evaluated for reducing of structural responses under different earthquakes in this paper. The structural responses are analyzed to identify its behavior due to the input motion characteristics such as various peak acceleration and frequency content. Three analytical models are used to evaluate the effectiveness of the isolation system in this study as follows: fixed-base primary structure with support-fixed substructure, base-isolated primary structure with support-fixed substructure, and fixed-base primary structure with support-isolated substruciure. A computer code (KBISAP) is used for numerical integration of equation of motion considering the interaction between the primary structure and the secondary structure. The matrix condensation technique and constant average acceleration method are utilized in this program. And also, the effective stiffness of the base-isolator on reducing the structural response are evaluated for various earthquakes through the relationship of the acceleration - displacement.

Corresponding Points Estimation of Motion Images by Orthogonal Function Expansion (직교 함수 전개법에 의한 동영상의 대응점 추출)

  • In computing the optical flow, Horn and Schunck's method which is a representative algorithm is based on differentiation. Therefore it is difficult to estimate the velocity for a large displacement by this algorithm. In this paper, we propose a method for estimating nonuniform motion from sequential images which is based on integral brightness constancy constraints. The equations which transform a source image to a target image are expressed as a function of the displacement field. If marginal effects can be neglected, the form of the transformation integral transform or orthogonal expansion can be determined from the expansion coefficients of the two images. The apparent displacement field is then computed iteratively by a projection method which utilities the functional derivatives of the linearized moment equations. We demonstrate that the performance of the orthogonal function transform on the data set of large motion.

  • 하천 유사량 특성 분석은 하천유역 내의 수리구조물 설계 및 유지관리, 하천개수 및 하도의 안정, 홍수터 관리, 저수지 설계 및 운영 등 수자원 개발 및 관리를 위한 하천계획의 필요한 요소 중 하나이며 현장 측정에서 분석까지 정밀한 일련의 과정을 통해서 알아낼 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 6개 지점(여주, 왜관, 진동, 공주, 나주, 구례2)에 대해 유사량 특성 분석을 수행하였다. 부유사량은 강우가 집중되는 홍수기(왕복수심적분법; D-74측정장비 / 표면채취법)를 중심으로 측정하였고 하상토의 경우는 Grab Sampler(60L), 선격자법 등을 이용하여 홍수기 전 후로 2회 채취하였다. 채취된 시료는 특성에 따라 여과법(부유사농도), BW관법(부유사입도분포), 체분석법(하상토입도분포)으로 분석하였으며, 이를 통해 산정된 평균 부유사농도, Oden Curve와 입도분포곡선 및 수리량(수위, 유속, 측정수심, 수면폭, 수면경사, 수온)등의 자료를 이용하여 총유사량(Modified Einstein 방법)을 추정하였다. 본 연구 결과는 다음과 같다.: 1) 유량-부유사량 및 총유사량 관계: 유량-부유사량의 관계에 있어 대체적으로 일관된 경향성이 나타났으며 총유사량과의 관계 역시 부유사량과 비슷한 경향성을 보임. 일부 성과의 경우, 총유사량과의 관계에 있어 Modified Einstein 조건의 불충족(자갈하상재료 또는 저유속)으로 부유사량과 동일추정이거나 추정불가 및 이상치가 나타남. 2) 유량-부유사량 특성: 전체적으로 루프현상을 보이며 초기 강우 사상에서는 더 많은 유사량이 발생하는데 이는 초기 강우에 의해 유사 이송이 활발하게 이루어지는 일반적인 특성임. 또한 수위 상승-하강에 따른 부유사량 자료가 더욱더 확보된다면 수위 상승과 하강부로 구분하여 분석하는 것도 의의가 있을 것으로 판단됨. 3) 유량-유사량관계식 개발: 개발된 관계식은 총유사량이 아닌 부유사량으로 개발되었으며, 측정성과들 간의 상관계수가 0.9723(구례2 지점) ~ 0.8490(나주 지점)으로 분석됨. 또한 개발된 관계식에 대한 신뢰도 분석을 실시하지 않았기 때문에 적용 시에는 주의가 요구됨.

Performance evaluation of hybrid acquisition in CDMA systems (DS/CDMA 시스템에서 하이브리드 동기 획득의 성능 분석)

  • This paper considers the evaluation of the hybrid acquistion perdformance for the pilot signal in the direct sequence code division multiple access(DS/CDMA) forward link. the hybrid acquisition is introduced by the combination of two schemes, the parallel and serial acquisions. The mean acquisition time of the proposed scheme is derived to consider both the best case(the correct code-phase offsets are included i one subset) and the worst case(the correct code-phase offsets exist at the boundary of two subsets), which are cause by the distribution of the correct code-phase offsets in the subset. Expressions for the detection, false alarm, and miss probabilities are derived for the case of multiple correct code-phase offsets and multipath Rayleigh fading channel. Numerical results present the hybrid acquistion performance with repect to design parameters such as postdetectio integration length in the search and verification modes, subset size, and number of I/Q noncoherent correlators, and compare the hybrid acquistion with the parallel acquistion in terms of the minimum acquistion time under the same hardware complexity.

Far-Field Sound Field Estimation from Near-Field Sound Field Data Using Boundary Collocation Method ; Decision of Optimum Points of Measurement (경계 배치법(Boundary Collocation Method)에 의한 근거리 음장 자료로부터 원거리 음장의 예측 ; 최적 측정점 개수의 결정)

  • This paper describes the far-field estimation using the near-field measurement data. Measurement in far-field region gives us the acoustical characteristics of the source but in general measurement is made in near-field such as acoustic water tank or anechoic chamber, so far-field acoustical characteristics of the source should be predicted from near-field data. In this case, the number of measurement points in the near field which relates to the accuracy of the predicted field and the amount of data processing, should be optimized. Existing papers say that measurement points is proportional to kL and depends on geometry and directivity of the source. But they do not give us any definite criterion for the required number of measurement points. Boundary Collocation Method which is one of the far-field prediction methods, is analyzed based on Helmholtz integral equation and Green function and it has been found that the number of measurement points is optimized as 0.54kL which is about one half of the existing results.
