  • 본 논문에서는 다시점 카메라 시스템을 통해 실사기반의 3D 모델을 획득하여 모션센서와 같은 별도의 기기 없이 해당 모델에 대한 고정밀 스켈레톤 추출 기법에 대해서 제시한다. 다시점 카메라 시스템을 이용하여 생성한 3D 모델을 앞, 뒤, 좌, 우 각 위치에서의 사상 매트릭스로 사상 영상을 생성하고 딥러닝 기술을 이용하여 2D 스켈레톤을 추출한다. 그리고 사상 매트릭스의 역변환 과정을 통해 2D 스켈레톤의 삼차원 좌표를 계산하고 추가적인 후처리를 통해 고정밀 스켈레톤을 획득한다.

  • Multi-planar reformatting(MPR) is a volume rendering technique which generates images of sectional planes users define, so that it is essential for medical imaging system. Due to the recent advances of medical imaging system, users require to place plural planes on a single dataset and to enable an individual and easy control for each plane. In this paper, we enumerate various user operations for recent MPR and analyze user requirements to update the plane equation. For the effective control of coordinate system, each plane is considered in a separated coordinate system and all informations which form a coordinate system are grouped into two components: the individual components and the common components. The proposed system is implemented on a graphics hardware, so that it smoothly performs MPR including recent requirements.

The effect of inter-pupillary distance on stereopsis (동공간 거리가 입체시 지각에 미치는 영향)

  • Most 3D display systems heavily depend on binocular disparity to produce 3-dimensional depth of a scene. In principle, the vergence angle of the object on fixation and binocular disparity of non-fixated objects vary with the inter-pupillary distance(IPD) of the observer. However, most stereo systems provide the identical stereo image pairs regardless of the observers' IPD, which may result in variation in the perceived depth. In this study, we manipulated the vergence angle of the fixated object and binocular disparity of the non-fixated object. The range of the individual difference in the perceived depth was found to be increased with the increase of disparity for both the fixated and non-fixated objects, and the individual difference was well fitted by the regression line of the observers' IPD. These results suggest that individual difference in the perceived depth from the identical stereo images should be greatly reduced if the stereo system calibrates the disparity of the object by the observers' IPD in generating the stereo images and the regression line found in this study might be useful in the calibrating the disparity of the images.

Fast Medical Volume Decompression Using GPGPU (GPGPU를 이용한 고속 의료 볼륨 영상의 압축 복원)

  • For many medical imaging systems, volume datasets are stored as a compressed form, so that the dataset has to be decompressed before it is visualized. Since the decompression process takes quite a long time, we present an acceleration method for medical volume decompression using GPU. Our method supports that both lossy and lossless compression and progressive refinement is possible to satisfy variable user requirements. Moreover, our decompression method is well parallelized for GPU so that the decompression takes a very short time. Finally, we designed that the decompression and volume rendering work in one framework so that the selective decompression is available. As a result, we gained additional improvement in volume decompression.

Designing a kmultiview 3D display system based on a spatiotemporal multiplexing (시공 분할방식을 이용한 다시점 삼차원 디스플레이 시스템의 설계)

  • A 16-views 3 dimensional imaging system is designed by spatially combinding two 8-views time multiplexed image channels. Each 8-views channel composed of 3 primary color CRTs and a dichroic beam splitter which combining the three CRTs as one channel. Each CRT displays 8-view images time sequentially. These images are projected to a holographic screen of a size 1$\times$0.8 $m^2$ through a projection optics. Characteristics of the three different configurations of projection optics are examined with the optics designing program "DEMOS" to select an optimized projection optics for the system. The configulation of the optimized projection optics is found like following; images from each channel combined by two-fold mirror are projected by a projection objective through a 16-strips LCD shutter. In this configuration, the shutter should be located at the entrance pupil of the objective, and the folded edge of the two-fold mirror should contact symmetrically to the center line of the shutter.e shutter.

  • Acquiring high-quality images in control and measurement systems is one of the important factors. Among image acquisition technologies, SFF (Shape from Focus) is a technology for recovering a 3D shape by acquiring 2D images with different focus levels by moving an object at a predetermined step size along the optical axis. For SFF, when an object is moved at a constant step size, mechanical vibration, referred as jitter noise, occurs in each step along the optical axis. In this paper, a new state estimation filter is designed and applied for reducing the jitter noise. For the application of the proposed method, the jitter noise and focus curves are modeled as Gaussian function. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed method.

  • In this paper, for manufacturing a custom-made shoes, shape of foot acquired three-dimensional measurement device which makes shoe-last data for needing a custom-made shoes is founded on artificial intelligence technique and it shows method restoring to the original shape in optimized state. the developed system for this study is based on PC which uses existing three dimensional measurement method. And it gains shoe-last and data of foot shape going through 8 CCD(Charge Coupled Device) Which equipped top and bottom, right and left sides and 4 lasers which also equipped both sides and upper and lower sides. The acquired data are processed image processing algorithm using artificial intelligence technique. And result of data management is better quality of removing noise than other system not using artificial intelligence technique and it can simplify post-processing. So, this paper is constituted hardware and software system and it used neural network for determining threshold value, when input image on pre-processing step is being stage of image binarization and present that results.

Comparison of LoG and DoG for 3D reconstruction in haptic systems (햅틱스 시스템용 3D 재구성을 위한 LoG 방법과 DoG 방법의 성능 분석)

  • The objective of this study is to propose an efficient 3D reconstruction method for developing a stereo-vision-based haptics system which can replace "robotic eyes" and "robotic touch." The haptic rendering for 3D images requires to capture depth information and edge information of stereo images. This paper proposes the 3D reconstruction methods using LoG(Laplacian of Gaussian) algorithm and DoG(Difference of Gaussian) algorithm for edge detection in addition to the basic 3D depth extraction method for better haptic rendering. Also, some experiments are performed for evaluating the CPU time and the error rates of those methods. The experimental results lead us to conclude that the DoG method is more efficient for haptic rendering. This paper may contribute to investigate the effective methods for 3D image reconstruction such as in improving the performance of mobile patrol robots.

Water-Fat Imaging with Automatic Field Inhomogeneity Correction Using Joint Phase Magnitude Density Function at Low Field MRI (저자장 자기공명영상에서 위상-크기 결합 밀도 함수를 이용한 자동 불균일 자장 보정 물-지방 영상 기법)

  • Purpose : A new inhomogeneity correction method based on two-point Dixon sequence is proposed to obtain water and fat images at 0.35T, low field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system. Materials and Methods : Joint phase-magnitude density function (JPMF) is obtained from the in-phase and out-of-phase images by the two-point Dixon method. The range of the water signal is adjusted from the JPMF, and 3D inhomogeneity map is obtained from the phase of corresponding water volume. The 3D inhomogeneity map is used to correct the inhomogeneity field iteratively. Results : The proposed water-fat imaging method was successfully applied to various organs. The proposed 3D inhomogeneity correction algorithm provides good performances in overall multi-slice images. Conclusion : The proposed water-fat separation method using JPMF is robust to field inhomogeneity. Three dimensional inhomogeneity map and the iterative inhomogeneity correction algorithm improve water and fat imaging substantially.

  • This paper presents an enhanced method of slit beam projection intended for the rapid measurement of 3-dimensional surface profiles of dies and molds. Special emphasis is given to optimizing the design of optical system so that the measuring accuracy can be maximized by adopting two-plane camera calibration together with sub-pixel image processing techniques. Finally, several measurement examples are discussed to demonstrate that an actual measuring accuracy of $\pm$ 0.2 mm can be achieved over the measuring range of 500 mm{\times}300mm{\times}200mm$.
