We will investigate in depth the reasons why companies have a negative mindset and produce complaints about the internship system itself. On the other hand, we try to find out the success factors of domestic companies that have introduced and operate the exemplary internship system, and prepare policies to disseminate them. In order to do this, I would like to diagnose the problems related to the internship system in the current industry through questionnaires or interviews with existing internship students. It is hoped that this will help the participating students to have a positive mindset about the company and further contribute to the career search and adaptation to the firm from the university to the firm.

There is a growing interest in Co-operative education as an important way of university-industry collaborations for improving employment competitiveness, recruiting talented human resource, and promoting university-industry collaborations. In this study, we recognize that the paradigm of professional practice have to be changed from internship to Co-operative education. This paper examines the characteristics of Co-operative education in a regional public university through a case study of Central Washington University(CWU), USA. The results of the study and policy implications are as follows. First, the professional practice program of CWU is centered upon Co-operative education and has a high local and regional connectivity in terms of location of institutions that students work for professional practices. Second, the professional practice program of CWU has a high connectivity between majors and jobs, and is characterized by an active participation of students majoring in humanities, social sciences, arts and education. Third, the qualifications of Co-operative education are strict, but programs of Co-operative education are flexibly operated according to the characteristics of departments and colleges. We emphasize that universities in Korea need to focus upon the employment connectivity, the major connectivity, the local and regional connectivity, Therefore, when attempting to introduce Co-operative education. In addition, the management and governance of Co-operative education should be flexible.

This paper analyzed the qualitative evaluation indicators of the SYSTEM sector of the LINC program, which aimed at strengthening ability of regional universities through the activities of industry-academia cooperation (IAC). By using interview data and the program reports of universities, this research explored the problems of the indicators and suggested improvement measures which could lead to performance creativity. According to research results, in university system reform for activating IAC, some improvements are required as follows: limiting excessive expansion of IAC-friendly faculty evaluation; and evaluating soft aspects in the reform of academic affairs. In relation to strengthening of ability of the IAC organization, the indicators need to be amended as follows: enhancing the role of channel of IAC Foundation; strengthening the function of planning team of the IAC Foundation; and inducing development of own model of universities for IAC. The purpose of this study was to review and synthesize the papers in cooperation between industries and specialized high schools. We also try to provide explicit directions and suggestions for future researches. A total of 196 studies, including master's and doctoral theses up to 2010, were collected through RISS(Research Information Sharing Service), KISS(Koreanstudies Information Service System), and DBPIA(special database for domestic research information). The results were as follows. The number of papers has been increasing steadily. In the area of research, the field research was the most popular area. The most common type of the research was survey research and library research was followed. Similarly, questionnaire was the most popular method. Technical high schools were the most popular object of studies in specialized high schools. GyeongGi province was the most popular region of studies and Seoul was followed. The most common type of cooperation between industries and specialized high schools were actual training. The students in specialized high school was the most popular object of surveys, and teachers and industry people were followed.
In a rapidly changing IT and business management environment the demand for competent IS personnels is increasing. However, it is ironic that the number of IT and IS majors has sharply decreased as well as the widespread skepticism of IS identity. This research suggests directions to differentiate MIS to other IT majors, diversify IS core competency and make general improvements in MIS curriculum. The research recommend the courses of IS Strategy and policy, ITA/EA, Global IT Management, Emerging Technologies, DW/DM, BI, IT Service Science, Project Management, IT Consulting and integrated capstone which are few in Kore universities. This research also stress the course of soft skills like business communication, team building, analytic/logical thinking, rational problem solving and so on as a important IS competency. The pedagogy of course is important, so the research recommend the internship, mentoring programme, lecturers in industry according to industrial - educational cooperation.

Digital manufacturing (DM) technology helps engineers design products promptly and reliably at low production cost by simulating a manufacturing process and the material behavior of a product in use, based on three-dimensional digital modeling. The computing infrastructure for digital manufacturing, however, is usually expensive and, at present, the number of professional design engineers who can take advantage of this technology to a product design accurately is insufficient, particularly in small and medium manufacturing companies. Considering this, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) and H University is operating a DM track in the form of Industry-University-Research Institute collaboration to train high-performance-computing-based DM professionals. In this paper, a series of courses to train students to work directly into DM practice in industry after graduation is reported. The operating cases of the DM track for two years since 2013 are presented by focusing on the progress in establishment, lecture and practice contents, evaluation of students, and course quality improvement. Overall, the track management, curriculum management, learning achievement of students have been successful. By expediting more active participation of the students in the track and providing more internship and job offers in the participating companies in addition to collaborative capstone design projects, the track can be expanded by fostering a nationwide training network.

This study analyzed the factors related to the job satisfaction and turnover rate of students in the skin care contract department, and suggested ways to enhance long-term employee retention. Frequency analysis and multiple regression analysis were performed using the SPSS statistical program and based on the survey data of 260 skin care contract students. The main results were as follows. First, contract students had high job satisfaction because of sufficient in-service training during the internship and also received the authority to perform the job duties of their positions. Second, the regular technical education for the job of contract students gave them confidence in job performance and job confidence, which led to long-term employee retention. Third, contractual students' turnover was reduced by applying compensation such as incentives, awards, and promotion opportunities in accordance with their work performance. Therefore, the results of the study suggest that compensation based on job performance, and the confidence in job performance of skin care contract students, can lead to increased job satisfaction, a reduced turnover rate and better long-term employee retention.

In this paper, we propose an effective software education scheme for universities. The key idea of this software education scheme is to analyze software curriculum of QS world university rankings Top 10, SW-oriented university, and regional main national university. And based on the results, we propose five improvements for the effective SW education method of universities. The first is to enhance the adaptability of the industry by developing courses based on the SW developer's job analysis in the curriculum development process. Second, it is necessary to strengthen the curriculum of the 4th industrial revolution core technologies(cloud computing, big data, virtual/augmented reality, Internet of things, etc.) and integrate them with various fields such as medical, bio, sensor, human, and cognitive science. Third, programming language education should be included in software convergence course after basic syntax education to implement projects in various fields. In addition, the curriculum for developing system programming developers and back-end developers should be strengthened rather than application program developers. Fourth, it offers opportunities to participate in industrial projects by reinforcing courses such as capstone design and comprehensive design, which enables product-based self-directed learning. Fifth, it is necessary to develop university-specific curriculum based on local industry by reinforcing internship or industry-academic program that can acquire skills in local industry field.
