A Study on Impacts of Industrial Convergence Using Patent Citations (특허인용관계를 활용한 산업융합 파급효과 연구)

  • Recent efforts of government to improve economic performance and increase employment through industrial convergence are being promoted actively. However, unfortunately, we have little of quantitative study on the following questions; (1) what is the rate of industrial convergence progressed?, and (2) what is the rate of total effects of industrial convergence spreaded?, and (3) which is the No. 1 industry in the magnitude of inductive effect of industrial convergence? In this study, we have measured and analyzed quantitatively the following questions using patent citation; (1) how is industrial convergence progressed?, and (2) how much has industrial convergence a effect on all industry?, and (3) what is the rate of the inductive effect of industrial convergence? In doing so, decision about industrial convergence has been made using patent citation and the effect of industrial convergence is drawn from convergence I/O table which made by patent citation.

  • 융합의 현상은 기술간, 디바이스간, 산업간 등으로 확장되고 있으며 그 유형도 매우 복잡하고 다양하다. IT융합도 기술의 발전과 함께 다양한 산업 곳곳으로 확산되며 정보화 사회를 넘어 모든 산업에 IT가 융합되는 지능기반(Smart) 사회로 IT산업의 패러다임이 변화하고 있다. 또한 IT융합 시장 규모도 점차 성장할 전망이다. 세계 IT융합 시장 규모가 2010년 1.2조 달러에서 2020년 3.6조 달러로 연평균 11.8%의 고성장이 전망되고 국내 IT융합시장 규모도 2020년에 1,237억 달러로 세계시장 성장률보다 높은 13%대의 성장을 예측했다. 이미 미국, EU, 일본 등 선진국들도 IT를 중심으로 산업간 융합전략을 추진하고 있다. IT융합은 자동차, 조선, 건설, 의료, 섬유 등 다양한 전통산업과 IT가 접목되어 새로운 혁신의 장을 만들고 있다. 우리 정부도 'IT융합 확산전략'을 발표하고 새로운 도전을 시작했다. 선진 일류국가 도약을 위해 IT산업 경쟁력을 기반으로 주력산업과의 융합을 촉진하여 신 시장을 개척해 나가야 한다. 정보통신산업 진흥원도 IT융합시대를 이끌 견인차가 되기 위해 2011년에 IT융합정책의 전략목표로 (1) IT융합 인식 확산 및 제도 개선 (2) 다양한 IT기술과 산업협력 모델 발굴 (3) 신 시장 창출을 통한 IT융합 확산 (4) 창의적 IT융합인재 양성을 선정했다. IT융합 전략의 성공적인 추진과 미래 산업사회의 요구를 충족시키기 위해 산업계의 목소리에 귀 기울이고 정부와 산업계를 잇는 가교 역할을 충실히 할 것이다.

  • 콘텐츠산업은 과학기술 발전 및 정보통신 확산으로 디지털 수요가 크게 늘어남에 따라 거대한 융합산업으로 변화하고 있다. 특히 문화기술 고도화, 실감-체험형 콘텐츠 수요 증가, 다양한 스마트기기 보급 확대, 문화예술 기반 사회생활, 콘텐츠 비즈니스 모델 확대 등은 콘텐츠산업의 융합 동인으로 작용하여 시장을 성숙시키고 있다. 콘텐츠산업의 융합 동인과 유형을 분석하는 것은 국가 차원에서 콘텐츠 산업육성 및 기술정책의 근간으로 매우 중요하기 때문이다. 본 연구는 콘텐츠산업의 융합 현상을 강화, 확장, 결합, 창조의 4가지 경로로 파악하였으며, 융합 유형으로서 장르 융합형(콘텐츠와 콘텐츠), 산업 융합형(콘텐츠와 산업), 기술 융합형(콘텐츠와 기술)의 3가지 형태로 분석하였다.

Research on Idustrial Convergence Evaluation Model Using KSIC-IPC: Focusing on the automotive sector (KSIC-IPC를 이용한 산업융합 평가모형 연구: 자동차 분야를 중심으로)

  • With the growing interest in convergence, there have been various attempts to measure convergence, but the definition of convergence is ambiguous and consensus on appropriate indicators has not been reached, so measurement of convergence is still at a rudimentary stage. In this study, using the KSIC-IPC linkage table developed by the Korean Intellectual Property Office to analyze the correlation and impact of patents, industry, economy, and population, we propose a new evaluation model that can evaluate industry convergence from patent data. In addition, it was verified whether the industry convergence derived from this properly reflects the corporate convergence characteristics. As a result of classifying the convergence of 39,740 patents owned by global major automobile companies, and evaluating the degree of convergence of each company, it was confirmed that the industry convergence derived using the KSIC-IPC linkage table better reflects the corporate convergence characteristics than the technology convergence classified by IPC co-classification. Therefore, the industry convergence data of automotive sector derived from the new industry convergence evaluation model using the KSIC-IPC linkage table is expected to be widely used for future convergence research.

  • Today, the term of fusion, such as technology convergence and industrial convergence, is emerging as one of the most important trends in our society. The purpose of this study is to analyze the convergence coefficient of each industry using patent data and to analyze the convergence phenomenon in industry based on convergence coefficient. To do this, 2011-2015 Korean patent data were utilized. The research findings revealed that the ICC by industry was the highest in order of man-made fibres, paints/varnishes, petroleum products/nuclear fuel and other chemicals. Also, according to the inter-industry convergence matrix, the number of convergence patents was the greatest in order of office machinery and computers, special purpose machinery industries and Measuring instruments. Added same analysis was conducted through Industry with high number of patents. As a result, the convergence has been actively carried out in the fields of optical instruments, Basic chemical, Fabricated metal products, Measuring instruments and special purpose machine manufacturing industries.

  • 최근 IT기술이 각종 산업에 융합된 제품군에 다양한 보안 솔루션이 탑재되면서 융합보안 산업이 차세대 고부가가치 산업으로 부상하고 있다. 이종 산업간 융합은 사용자들에게 편리함을 제공해 주지만 이와 반대로 다양한 보안적인 이슈사항을 야기 시켰다. 따라서 본고에서는 현재 부상하고 있는 차세대 융합산업에 대한 동향을 몇 가지 사례를 중심으로 분석 하였고, 또한 해당하는 융합산업 분야에서 발생하는 보안 이슈와 요구되는 보안기술을 분석하였다.

  • The purpose of this research is to bring supportive ways to reinforce the market competitiveness of fusion industry based on the rapidly arising fusion industries considering system improvement and fusion R&D support. The research has proceeded in the order of setup for competitiveness reinforcing way of fusion industry and deduction for competitiveness reinforcing way based on directivity. It classified the fusion industry into introduction, diffusion and development by time, and suggested expert fusion R&D, open type fusion R&D, customized fusion R&D, system improvement of market entrance and supportive way for public purchase as the supportive way. It's purpose is to lead the entrance into the new fusion market, stabilize to settle into the market and create high value products by resolving difficulties for the market entrance of the new fusion products & service, reinforcing the fusion capability and securing the competitive advantage.

  • Industrial convergence is manifested in various forms by various drivers, and understanding and categorizing the direction of convergence according to the factors in which the convergence occurs is an essential requirement for the establishment of a company's customized convergence strategy and the government's corporate support policy. In this study, the type of convergence is analyzed from the perspective of knowledge flow between heterogeneous technologies, and for this purpose, the result of topic modeling of the text information of the patent and the citation information of the corresponding patent allocated for each topic are used. The methodology presented through case studies in the medical device field is verified. Through the proposed methodology, companies can predict the flow of convergence and use it as decision-making data to create new business opportunities. It is expected that the government and research institutions will be usefully used as basic data for policy preparation.

  • Methods that industrial spies use to smuggle core technology out are becoming more intelligent, technological, and complex, thus resulting in more serious damages. In particular, defense industries in which involve national core technology as well as institutions including labor force are industries that are in a greater need of the convergence security. Defense Industry develops, experiments, and produces defense security supplies for national security protection. Defense industry involves a number of security elements such as military secret, industrial secret, core technology labor force, defense industry supply, critical national facility, and information communication system. Defense industry security is a complex of military security and industrial security which is convergence security that integrates all security elements of defense industry. Therefore, defense industry security is a typical ideal model for convergence security. Research on defense industry security is relatively insufficient compared to research of security in other industrial fields. In order to prevent core technology of denfese industry from leaking and to protect technical professionals and institutions, research and action on defense industry security from convergence security perspective are therefore essential at this point of time.
