The research subjects were nurses from three small and medium-sized hospitals located in S City and C City who understood the purpose of the study and agreed to participate. The final study subjects were 158 nurses. The data were collected from January 5, 2020 to March 31, 2020, and descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation, regression analysis, and Sobel test of the collected data were performed using SPSS/WIN26.0 Program. As a result of the study, nurses' practice of standard precaution showed a significant positive correlation with perception of patient safety culture (r=.524, p<.001) and critical thinking disposition (r=.471, p<.001). Critical thinking propensity was found to have a partial mediating effect in the relationship between perception of patient safety culture and practice of standard precaution. Based on the results of this study, repeated research can be conducted in the future, and can be used to develop and apply educational programs that can improve nurses' practice of standard precaution.

The subjects were 155 ER nurses working at 15 general hospital in Gwangju, Korea. The data were collected from October 15, 2020 to November 3, 2020. The result, there were negative correlation between job stress and health promotion behavior(r=-0.310, p=<.000), between job stress and retention intention(r=-0.220, p=.006), between health status, and health promotion behavior(r=-0.448, p=<.000), between health status and retention intention(r=-0.296, p=<.000), but there were positive correlation between job stress and health status(r=0.368, p=<.000), between health promotion behavior and retention intention(r=0.229, p=.004). Factors influencing retention intention were fatige and health status with R2 value 22.7%. Considering these results, it seems that important factors determining the retention intention of nurses in ER are Spiritual health status, heavy workload due to job stress, fatigue and social health status by nurse. Therefore, in order to increase the retention intention of nurse in ER, it is a need for strategies to improve the working environment and develop programs to reduce job stress and fatigue through work adjustment, and to maintain and promote health.

Methods: The research subjects were 224 nurses selected through convenient sampling from among those who have worked six months or longer in seven small and medium-sized hospitals located in G City. The data were collected using a structured questionnaire from July 17 to 30, 2018. The data was analyzed by descriptive statics, a t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and a stepwise multiple regression using SPSS/WIN 22.0 program. As a measuring tool, Calling was the Calling & Vocational Questionnaire (CVQ) developed by Dik, Eldrige and Steger (2008). Self-efficacy was developed by Sherer et al. (1982) and modified by Jeong Ae-soon (2007). Workplace bullying was developed by Einarsen, Raknes and Matthiesen (1994) in the Norwegian Negative Behavioral Experience Questionnaire (NAQ), and by Nam Woong et al. (2010). The retention intention was to use NRI (Nurses' Retention Index) developed by Cowin (2002) as a tool for Kim Min-jung (2006). Results: Factors affecting nurses' retention were analyzed. The analysis showed that retention intention was positively affected by self-efficacy (β=.24, p<.001), sense of calling (β=.23, p<.001) and annual wage (β=.21, p=.001) and negatively affected by workplace bullying (β=-.16, p=.008) on a statistically significant level, with an explanatory power of 28.6%.

  • This study intends to identify the effect of the simulation-based adult nursing education on resilience, clinical competence, and role transition of nursing students. Similar experimental study of a single group pretest-posttest design was used to investigate the effects of the program. The study was conducted from March to June, 2017 on senior nursing students at the university in M city who take an 'Integrated nursing practice I' class for the semester. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires and data of 52 participants were analyzed. The data were analyzed by frequencies, paired t-test and pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS 21.0 program. As a result, the effectiveness of the simulation-based adult nursing education on resilience, clinical competence, and role transition were found. The result of this study showed that the improvement after simulation education was significant in resilience(t=-2.51, p=.016), clinical competence(t=-4.18, p<.001), and role transition(t=-2.89, p=.006). Resilience was found to be positively correlated with clinical competence(r=.464, p<.001) and role transition(r=.473, p<.001). These findings imply the value of simulation education to enhance the resilience, clinical competence, and role transition of nursing students. In the future, more studies should be conducted in the same group with control group to validate the effectiveness of variables.

A survey was conducted on nurses in the intensive care unit of a general hospital located in D City, and a total of 100 copies were used for analysis. For data analysis, descriptive statistics, chi-square test, Fisher accurate test, and logistic regression analysis were performed using IBM SPSS 24.0. The study found that 69% of intensive care unit nurses had back pain, 65.2% of which experienced back pain for more than three months in the past year, and 84.1% had back pain after working in the intensive care unit. In the back pain intensity score measured by NRS, 49% answered that they experienced 4 or more points. As factors related to back pain, gender (p=.03) were significant variables in personal characteristics, in the characteristics of nursing work, the number of patient assistance (p=.03) and the number of patient exchanges (p=.01), heavy lifting (p=.04), satisfaction with the condition of the shoes (p=<.001) was found to be a significant variable affecting back pain induction. It is considered that hospital organization and national policies are needed to prevent and manage low back pain in intensive care unit nurses.

  • This study is a descriptive research study to determine the extent to which end-of-life care stress, death awareness, and prior decision-making attitudes of nurses at a hospice and palliative nursing institution have an impact on end-of-life care performance. The subjects of this study were 200 nurses working at a hospice and palliative nursing institution. Data collection for this study was conducted from August 9 to September 30, 2021, using two methods: written questionnaire and internet survey. The data analysis method used Pearson's correlation coefficient to analyze the relationship between the subjects' end-of-life care stress, death awareness, prior decision-making attitude, and end-of-life care performance. Hierarchical Regression was used to identify factors affecting the subject's end-of-life care performance. The results of this study showed a significant correlation between end-of-life care performance and death awareness (r=.22, p=.002), and end-of-life care performance and prior decision-making attitude (r=.20, p=.004). And prior decision-making attitude and death awareness had a significant impact on end-of-life care performance. As death awareness and prior decision-making attitudes increased, end-of-life care performance increased, and end-of-life care stress did not appear to be a statistically significant factor influencing end-of-life care performance. In order to improve hospice nurses' ability to provide end-of-life care, intervention that takes into account the influencing factors is required.
