Performance Analysis of BLE System for Wireless IoT Network Design (IoT 무선 네트워크 설계를 위한 BLE 시스템의 성능 분석)

  • The recent rapid growth of the IoT(Internet of Things) is leading to the spread of low-power wireless technology. A major challenge in designing IoT wireless networks is to achieve coexistence between different wireless technologies that share the 2.4 [GHz] ISM (Industrial Scientific Medical) frequency band. Therefore, there is a need for research on improving the reliability of wireless networks and coexisting operation between wireless networks. In particular, it is necessary to study an interference model and performance for mutual service coexistence in a BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) wireless network environment, which is expected to be widely used as a connection medium between devices in various industrial fields. In this paper, the co-channel interference model with the IEEE 802.15.4 system is established focusing on the physical layer of the BLE system widely used in residential and industrial wireless applications, and the performance of the BLE wireless communication system is analyzed in the co-channel interference environment. As a result of the analysis, as the distance between the interference source and the BLE system increases in an environment where noise and co-channel interference exist, the amount of co-channel interference decreases and the error rate performance of the BLE system improves.

  • CAN(Controller Area Network)은 시스템이 간단하고 저렴하게 구현 할 수 있는 필드버스(Field bus)로써 1980년대 독일의 BOSCH사에 의해 자동차 제어용 네트워크로 개발되었고, 실시간 계측제어 능력이 우수하여 산업전반(산업 자동화, 건을 자동화, 의료 장비, 열차, 중장비 차량)에 사용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 CAN의 단일 마스터 시스템(Single Master System)에서 마스터 노드에 문제가 발생할 때, 전체 시스템이 다운되는 현상을 악기 위해 마스터 노드를 동적으로 변화시키는 동적 마스터 시스템(Dynamic Master System)을 제안하고 기존의 시스템과 비교하여 시스템의 가용성을 알아보았다.

  • As many sensors and actuators are used in many automated systems, various industrial networks are adopted for real-time distributed control. In order to take advantages of the networking, however, the network implementation should be carefully designed to satisfy real-time requirements considering network delays. This paper presents the implementation of a remote feedback control system via Profibus-DP net work for real-time distributed control More specifically, the effect of the network delay on the control performance evaluated on Profibus-DP testbed. Also, the traditional PID gain tuning methods are used to demonstrate the feasibility of the remote feedback control.

  • Collecting and managing the sensor information through the Internet is critical to effectively manage and utilize the sensor information. The interworking technique of the sensor network and internet is required to realize the desirable condition for managing and utilizing the sensor information. Among many interworking techniques, the translation technique using the gateway had been widely studied. However, the technique which mounts IP-based Internet protocols directly on the sensor node is getting more attention recently. Particularly, IPv6 is suitable for the communication protocol for the sensor network, because its features, such as abundant address space or address auto-configuration, are well matched with the sensor network. In this paper, we design the tiny UDP/IPv6 protocol functions which are suitable for the sensor network environment, and we implemented the functions with TinyOS based nesC. After we examined the simulation results of by using TOSSIM and TinyViz, we carried out the experimental performance evaluation for the program by mounting the tiny UDP/IPv6 on the sensor node (Mote).

  • As the smart factory progresses, the use of automation facilities and robots is increasing. Also, with the development of IT technology, the utilization of the system using voice recognition is also increasing. Voice recognition technology is a technology that stands out in smart home and various IoT technologies, but it is difficult to apply to factories due to the specificity of factories. Therefore, in this study, a method to control an industrial articulated robot was designed using voice recognition technology that considers the situation at the manufacturing site. It was confirmed that the robot could be controlled through network protocol and command conversion after receiving voice commands for robot operation through mobile.

Reliability Improvement of the Industrial Equipment Control and Management System Using ZigBee Wireless Network Technology (ZigBee 무선 네트워크 기술을 이용한 산업용 장비 제어 및 관리 시스템의 신뢰성 향상)

  • Zigbee wireless communication technology has features which are low cost, low power and coping ability against a high delay time when the automatic wireless system is manufactured. Therefore, in this paper, we research a method improving the data transmission reliability of the industrial equipment control and management system using zigbee wireless communication technology. we used a convolutional code with code rate R=1/2, constraint K=5 and generation polynomial constant g1=(10111) and g2=(10011) as a reliability method. From the transmission simulation at LOS environment, we are able to predict the transmission error performance according to the distance difference. Furthermore, At the PER performance analysis, we can get the result that this system reliability with convolutional code is improved about 5 times than the existing system. From these results, we can prove that the convolutional code is the solution to improve the system reliability of the industrial equipment control and management system using zigbee wireless communication technology.

  • 본 논문에서는 시간에 엄격한(Time critical) 산업용 IoT(Industrial IoT) 환경의 무선 센서 네트워크 시스템 상의 효율적인 패킷 전달과 정확도(Accuracy) 향상을 위해 강화학습과 EDF 알고리즘을 혼합한 스케쥴링 기법을 제안한다. 이 방식은 다중 대기열(Multiple queue) 환경에서 각 대기열의 요구 정확도(Accuracy Requirement)를 기준으로 최대한 패킷 처리를 미룸으로써 효율적인 CPU자원 분배와 패킷 손실율(Packet Loss)을 조절한다. 제안하는 기법은 무선 센서 네트워크 상의 가변적이고 예측 불가능한 환경에 대한 사전지식이 없이도 요구하는 서비스의 질(Quality of service)를 만족할 수 있도록 한다. 또한 정확도를 요구조건으로 제시하여 마감시간이 중요시되는 작업에서도 효율을 최대화한다.

  • The IEEE 802.4 token bus has been widely accepted as the standard for factory local area networks. The priority option of the 802.4 standard supports multiple classes of traffic by using a set of timers to control information exchange. The performance of the 802.4 priority mechanism in industrial real time control is examined. A timer assignment technique is presented for such applications. The timers are set to satisfy the worst case access delay requirements of real time control applications. Other applications that are not time constrainted can be supported simultaneously. In fact under certain conditions, such applications can also be guaranteed a minimum bandwidth allocation. Simulation results are used to evaluate the timer assignment and utililization.
