Aspects of Classical Literary Materials in Secondary School Korean Textbooks and Literature Textbooks in the 2009 Revised Curriculum (2009 개정 교육과정 시기 국어·문학 교과서 고전문학 제재 수록 양상 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the change in literary materials in secondary school Korean textbooks and literature textbooks as per the 2009 revised curriculum. Literary materials in secondary school Korean textbooks have increased student awareness of literary canons because these have been taught and learned through public education. Seodongyo, Gemangmega, and Gasiri in classical poetry and the tale of Heungbu, Pongsan Mask Dance, the Tale of Ch'unhyang and the tale of Honggildong(by Heo Gyun) in classical prose are published in secondary school Korean textbooks and literature textbooks as per the revised curriculum of 2009. A three-verse Korean ode and a classical novel are the most chosen genres in classical literature.

  • 이 논문은 근대 민족국가 형성과 민족 공용어의 창출의 상관성을 염두에 두고 식민지기 버마에서 버마어가 어떠한 정치적, 사회적 환경 하에서 어떻게 공용어의 지위를 획득해나갔는지에 대해 주로 버마어 산문의 대중화라는 각도에서 분석한 것이다. 베네딕트 앤더슨의 연구가 시사하는 것처럼 근대적 인쇄매체의 출현과 더불어 근대 버마어의 등장 및 대중화는 버마의 근대적 민족 형성에 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 제1차 영국-버마 전쟁 종결 후, 정치, 사회, 경제적 상황 변화와 함께 인쇄산업의 발달과 더불어 버마어는 대중매체에서 공용어로서의 지위를 획득해갔다. 식민시기에 버마 내 여러 지역에 어학원이 설립되었고 버마인이 어학교육 담당자로 고용되었다. 1930년대 초반에 근대 버마어 산문이 많은 저자들에 의해 집필되었으며, 1930년대 후반에 들어서서 독자들 사이에서 널리 읽히는 호황을 누렸다. 일본군 점령 후에는 일본군 당국의 허가 하에 버마어는 제2차 세계대전 중에 공식적 언어로서 인정되었다. 이러한 바탕 위에 근대 버마어는 1947년 헌법에 버마의 공식 언어로 명기되었다. 이러한 과정에 대한 분석을 통해 이 논문에서는 버마어가 식민지기에 표준어로서의 지위를 획득하고 그 버마어로 작성된 근대 버마어 산문의 사용이 버마의 민족 형성과정에서 결정적인 역할을 하였다는 점을 부각시켰다.

Yeoheon's Spirit of Humanities and the Genealogy of his Prose (여헌(旅軒)의 인문(人文) 정신(精神)과 산문(散文)의 계보(系譜))

  • In this paper, I focused on analyzing Yeoheon Chang Hyeon-gwang's literary theory and his prose in the genealogy of Confucian scholars in Chosun. Through this study, I would like to examine the trend of concentrating on 16th century when we treat the literary tendency of Confucian scholars. With this goal, I tried to seek the direction which was pursued by Confucian scholars who lived during the 17th century. Yeoheon tried to construct the spirit of humanities cosmically as an aim of his life, study, and literature. And he had a new understanding of human independence by suffering from Japanese invasion in the late of 16th century. He insisted that only human can realize the spirit of humanities on a cosmic base. He also thought that the morality(道) could be settled only by literature(文). We may interpret this concept as a progressive idea about literature comparing to the former Confucian scholars. On the other hands, Yeoheon tried to accept the literary theory of former scholars such like Park Young, Cho Sik, and Seong Woon who embraced Taoism. Yet he erased the color of Taoism in the field of topic, and he also tried to keep his distance from them in the field of literary form. This concept actually came from Lee Hwang's opinion, while Yeoheon tried to rouse scholar's independence. Through above, we may realize that the Confucian scholars of 17th century were not just imitators of 16th century. They tried to examine the former study and also tried to renew the theory.

A Study on the Literature of Mumingong(武愍公) Choi Young(崔瑩) in the History (무민공(武愍公) 최형(崔瑩)의 언행(言行) 기록(記錄) 속 문학(文學) 고찰 - 산문(散文) 작품(作品)을 중심으로 -)

  • This study examined at the literature of Choi Young(崔瑩). Choi Young(崔瑩) does not have a collection. Thus I looked at the records currently remaining about the words and actions of Choi Young(崔瑩). Among them, many discovered a piece of work in the midst of History of Goryeo History(高麗史) yeoljeon(列傳). This led to a review of the whole of literature. As a result, I could find many Prose works. This enabled us to examine one aspect of his literature. Here are some of the most popular works. First, a writing that was demoted to Gyerimyun(鷄林尹) because of the slander of Shin Don(辛旽), second a pact written to suppress Cheju Island, third a letter sent to persuade the minister of Cheju Park Yoon-Cheong(朴允淸), forth a statement against the king's will to relocate the capital, fifth a message to the king expressing his willingness to fight Hongshan(鴻山), sixth a message expressing deep despondency at defeat in Ganghwado Island and a message to the king about measures to defend, seventh a loyalty remonstrance for the king Wu(禑王). The method tried in this manuscript is significant. I have reindistributed the works of Mumingong(武愍公) in the records. Based on such achievements, new emphasis can be placed on the historical assessment of the achievements of the contemporary or later writers of the literary world.
