The purpose of this study is to analyze the economic feasibility of public postpartum care centers established for health care of low-income postpartum mothers. 6 of 8 public postpartum care centers were used to verify the economic feasibility and research data were collected through the centers. A sensitivity analysis was performed with the bed turnover rate, assuming that users in a postpartum care center will be decreased. As a result, B/C ratio was estimated to be 1.50 and the net benefit was estimated to be KRW 186,557 in million. A sensitivity analysis showed that B/C was 1.42 at 17.4 of bed turnover rate and 1.26 at 15.4 which indicates the lowest bed turnover rate among subjects. A public postpartum care center was evaluated as economically feasible as public works. Therefore it is necessary that the public postpartum care centers operated by local governments should be expanded through legal amendment.

아기가 세상에 태어났을 때 아기와 산모의 건강에 대한 염려 다음에는 흔히 손가락과 발가락이 모두 10개씩 맞는지 물어보고 헤아려 본다. 우리 몸에서 비슷한 기능을 하는 구조물이 10개씩 되는 것은 손과 발 이외에는 그렇게 흔치 않다. 그래서인지 손에는 눈에 잘 띄지 않는 경한 기형에서부터 팔이 짧든지 손가락이 없는 심각한 변형까지 다양하게 나타난다. 손의 기형에 대해 알아보자.

1인당 국민소득이 580달러에 불과한 캄보디아는 결핵 뿐만 아니라 영유아 사망률과 산모 사망률 HIV/AIDS 감염률 등 전반적인 보건 분야 지표가 동남아에서 가장 취약한 국가다. 3월 24일은 보건결핵의 날이지만, 현재, 캄보디아 뿐 아니라 세계 결핵환자들의 실태는 끔찍하다. 세계보건기구(WHO)에 따르면 결핵으로 인한 사망자는 매년 180만명이 넘는다.

The purpose of this study was to collect basic data the health care of postpartum women. Three hundred seventy five women who were 3 days postpartum were enrolled at two university hospitals. Data were collected from April 1999 to November, 1999 using a questionnaire titled 'Symptom Table on Fatigue Perception' designed by the Fatigue Research Committee of Japan. The collected data were scored by the use of mean and standard deviation according to the subjective symptoms of fatigue and each item was analyzed independent variable by the t-test and the ANOVA test. The results were as follows: 1. The average fatigue score of subjects was 1.61. Physical fatigue had the highest value with a mean of 1.82, followed by neuro-sensory fatigue with a mean score of 1.54, psychological fatigue was rated lowest with a mean of 1.45. 2. With the respect to the general characteristics of subjects, there were statistically significant differences in difficulty of labor (t=2.335. p=.020), sleeping time (t=2.340. p=.020) and desirability of pregnancy (t=2.409. p=.018).

Purpose: This study was to investigate the effects of fatigue, postpartum family support on postpartum depression in postpartum women. Methods: Data were collected through structured questionnaires. The participants of this study were 123 postpartum women in B metropolitan city. The data were analyzed with the SPSS/Win 18.0 program, using descriptive statistics, in independent t-test, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: The subjects' degree of fatigue and postpartum depression had strong positive correlation (r=.623, p<.001). The subjects' degree of postpartum family support and postpartum depression had moderate negative correlation (r=-415, p<.001). Factors that affect postpartum depression were fatigue (${\beta}=.492$, p<.001), postpartum family support (${\beta}=-.234$, p=.001), pre-conception job (${\beta}=.222$, p=.001), Pregnancy depression (${\beta}=.177$, p=.007), Parity (${\beta}=.167$, p=.009). The explanation power was 55.0%. Conclusion: The study results indicate that it is necessary to various programs that can reduce postpartum mothers' fatigue and improve postpartum family support, in order to reduce the postpartum depression.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of music therapy on postpartum blues and maternal attachment of puerperal women. Methods: The research design was a nonequivalent control group non-synchronized design. The participants were puerperal women who agreed to participate in this study and through a convenience sampling, 60 puerperal women were recruited (30 in the experimental group, 30 in the control group). After measuring postpartum blues and maternal attachment, music therapy was provided to the experimental group over 40 min, once a day, and for 8 days. Then, postpartum blues and maternal attachment for the experimental and control group were measured again on the 8th day. The data were analyzed using the SPSS WIN 12.0 Program. Results: The first hypothesis that "the degree of postpartum blues for the experimental group who participated in music therapy would be lower than that of the control group" was accepted (t=4.350, p<.001). The second hypothesis that "the degree of maternal attachment of the experimental group who participated in music therapy would be higher than that of the control group" was accepted (t=4.828, p<.001). Conclusion: These findings indicate that music therapy has positive influences on decreasing postpartum blues and increasing maternal attachment of puerperal women.

Neonatal lupus erythematosus (NLE) is a rare disease characterized by typical clinical features and the transplacental passage of maternal autoantibodies, particularly anti-SSA/Ro. The major clinical manifestations are cutaneous lupus lesions, congenital heart block, hematological disorders, and hepatobiliary diseases. We report a case of NLE presenting with multiple round and oval target-like erythematous skin lesions and abnormal liver function, born to a clinically asymptomatic mother whose diagnosis was made retrospectively only after her newborn's diagnosis. Both the infant and the mother were positive for the anti-SSA/Ro and anti-SSB/La antibodies.
