This paper presents a design for improvement of isolation characteristics by the inserted stub structure on ground plane of a handy terminal which is composed of a main antenna and a sub antenna covered LTE bandwidth. In order to compensate for a resonance length of proposed antenna and to realize a high isolation characteristic, a pair of stub was inserted and located on ground plane that currents from two antennas were converged. A simulated isolation characteristic of antenna without stub at the LTE class 13 band was about -5 dB, but its characteristics of proposed antenna with two stubs at uplink(777~787 MHz) and downlink(746~756 MHz) of the LTE class 13 band were about -12 dB and -15 dB, respectively. An average gain of a fabricated antenna with two stubs was observed about -2 dBi above and it showed good results with comparison of business condition that the average gain of commercial handy terminal has to appear -4 dBi above. The measured S-parameter characteristics and radiation patterns showed a reasonable agreement with the simulation results.

The display, which is closely related to modern life, is being developed as a window on a network connecting individuals, devices, and even other individuals from simple display devices, as the IT industry develops. To achieve a thinner, brighter unit with less consumption for backlighting, the LED light source has applied, and the study of complex light-guiding plates to improve luminance, uniformity, and viewing angle has been initiated. In this paper, we summarize the research results for the scatterers' pattern formation of the light-guiding plate and the arrangement and composition of the light source, which have enabled remarkable development of the LED backlight unit over the last 10 years. In addition, a large-area flat-screen illumination system, applying the light-guiding-plate technology to a currently noteworthy LED light-fixture design, is outlined. Finally, we discuss the direction and way to develop the current technology more progressively.

The sea flower begins at the water-sediment Interface. In the ocean basins, the sound velocity of the sediments at the interface vary from a few percent less than the sound speed in water just above the interface to somewhat greater. Marine sediments are unconsolidated; that is, the particles are not cemented of fused together. Samples feel like mud, muddy sand, sand, and so on. With the theoretical knowledge, the systematic research on the searching capability of Ultra Sonic Signal will be continued to identify the influence against the sea water subject. In this research, signal will be analyzed according to the influence range, power and sensitiveness of Ultra Sonic Generator. In addition, the radius of Ultra Sonic Signal will be included. The experimental field work will be executed at Nockdong, Pulkyo and other places well known as a habitat of Pan Shell.

In this paper, we propose 2-stage beamformer with linear receiver in wireless backhaul downlink system where macro base station has large antenna array with sub-array structure. Also, to compare the system capacity, we apply 3-stage beamformer with zero-forcing precoder and calculate the achievable sum rate of received small cell base stations. Considering scattering and path-loss property of wireless backhaul channel, we combine precoding technique for spatial multiplexing and beamforming technique to overcome path-loss. Therefore, we design DFT-based fixed beam patterns for the first stage. The simulation results show that considering spatial multiplexing, proposed 2-stage beamformer with linear receiver can increase the achievable sum rate as well as reduce the feedback information.

In this paper, we studied the design of power divider using the slow-wave effect of Photonic Bandgap structure, which is etched on the ground plane. The proposed PBG structure can provides the changing of the characteristic impedance of the transmission line and the group delay velocity characteristic. Therefore we can make wider width than the width of conventional transmission line and decrease the length of transmission line. We presented the application for power divider using the characteristic impedance and electrical length extracted from scattering parameter. As adding proposed defect units, the effect of defect is studied. The experimental results show good agreements with the simulated results.

Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is a non-invasive imaging method that utilizes the optical scattering and interference for visualizing the surface as well as cross-sectional structures of tissue. OCT has been used for diagnosing diseases in early stage in various medical fields, but an application in cosmetics is still at early stage. In this study, OCT was adopted to evaluate skin texture and wrinkle. Results showed similar patterns of evaluation with PRIMOS in the assessment using replica. In addition, OCT produced smaller errors at different angles compared to the PRIMOS in the assessment using 3-dimensional models of wrinkles. The resolution of the image was also high enough to differentiate the images of before and after the application of makeup products. Possible use of OCT in the evaluation of fine wrinkle assessment was studied in this research. Further development of methods is necessary to provide more evidences of the effectiveness.

In this paper, the slot coupled stacked microstrip antenna, which has wide bandwidth characteristics because of the double tuning effects from the interactions between two patches and feeding slot and improves distortions of radiation patterns due to spurious radiation from feeder, is analyzed. For the analy- sis Green function in the spectrum domain and Galerkin method is applied with an accurate analysis mode for slot coupled feeding structure using the scattering analysis method. The basis functions are 3 EB modes for patches and 5 PWS modes for feeder. The slot coupled stacked microstrip antennas are designed and fabricated with the center frequency of 11.5 Ghz and 12.0 GHz. The experimental results show the wide bandwidth characteristics of 1.9 ~ 2.2 GHz and agree well with the simulation results which have 15~20% bandwidth.
Basic research is conducted to identify a target using corner reflectors which are commonly used in calibration of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems. At first, an omni-directional reflector is fabricated by combining four 15-cm rectangular trihedral corner reflectors. Then, its radar cross section (RCS) characteristics are measured at C-band (5.3 GHz) for vv-, hh-, hv-, and vh- polarizations at a range of horizontal angle, $-90^{\circ}{\le}{\phi}{\le}90^{\circ}$. The measured RCS angular variation of the omni-directional reflector is much smaller for vv-polarization than other polarizations, and the difference between the maximum and minimum RCSs for vv-polarization is about 8 dB. Peak RCS values are shown at $0^{\circ}$ (normal to plates) and $45^{\circ}$ (direction of bore sight). It is shown that the measurements agree quite well with numerical simulation and theoretical computation results.
The change of external/internal factors of the cell rquires specific biological functions to maintain life. Such functions encourage particular genes to jnteract/regulate each other in multiple ways. Accordingly, we applied a linear decomposition model IFSA, which derives hidden variables, called the 'expression mode' that corresponds to the functions. To interpret gene interaction/regulation, we used a cross-correlation method given an expression mode. Linear decomposition models such as principal component analysis (PCA) and independent component analysis (ICA) were shown to be useful in analyzing high dimensional DNA microarray data, compared to clustering methods. These methods assume that gene expression is controlled by a linear combination of uncorrelated/indepdendent latent variables. However these methods have some difficulty in grouping similar patterns which are slightly time-delayed or asymmetric since only exactly matched Patterns are considered. In order to overcome this, we employ the (IFSA) method of [1] to locate phase- and shut-invariant features. Membership scoring functions play an important role to classify genes since linear decomposition models basically aim at data reduction not but at grouping data. We address a new function essential to the IFSA method. In this paper we stress that IFSA is useful in grouping functionally-related genes in the presence of time-shift and expression phase variance. Ultimately, we propose a new approach to investigate the multiple interaction information of genes.

The High-Frequency Radar (HFR) is an equipment designed to measure real-time surface ocean currents in broad maritime areas. It emits radio waves at a specific frequency (HF) towards the sea surface and analyzes the backscattered waves to measure surface current vectors (Crombie, 1955; Barrick, 1972).The Seasonde HF Radar from Codar, utilized in this study, determines the speed and location of radial currents by analyzing the Bragg peak intensity of transmitted and received waves from an omnidirectional antenna and employing the Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) algorithm. The generated currents are initially considered ideal patterns without taking into account the characteristics of the observed electromagnetic wave propagation environment. To correct this, Antenna Pattern Measurement (APM) is performed, measuring the strength of signals at various positions received by the antenna and calculating the corrected measured vector to radial currents. The APM principle involves modifying the position and phase information of the currents based on the measured signal strength at each location. Typically, experiments are conducted by installing an antenna on a ship (Kim et al., 2022). However, using a ship introduces various environmental constraints, such as weather conditions and maritime situations. To reduce dependence on maritime conditions and enhance economic efficiency, this study explores the possibility of using unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for APM. The research conducted APM experiments using a high-frequency radar installed at Dangsa Lighthouse in Dangsa-ri, Wando County, Jeollanam-do. The study compared and analyzed the results of APM experiments using ships and drones, utilizing the calculated radial currents and surface current fields obtained from each experiment.
