결식아동에 대한 부실도시락이 사회적 문제로 지적되며 아동복지에 관한 다양한 문제들이 언론을 통하여 보도되고 있다. 소위 ‘IMF 경제위기’ 이후 사회저변에서 발견되는 빈곤에 대한 지속적인 사회적 관심이 있었지만, 빈곤 아동에 대한 관심은 상대적으로 적었다. 아동에 관한 사회적 이슈는 대부분 교육문제에 한정된 경향이 있었고, 아동의 복지문제는 여전히 가족의 책임으로 가정하는 경향이 존재해 왔다. 하지만, 아동복지는 복지공급(welfare provision)이라는 수동적인 차원만이 아니라 기회균등(equal opportunity)의 발판을 마련한다는 차원에서 매우 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 교육문제가 중요하다는 것은 재차 강조할 필요가 없지만, 교육 여건을 형성하고 가능하게 하는 여건이 허락되지 않는다면 ‘교육을 통한 기회균등’이라는 슬로건은 허상에 지나지 않을 것이다. 이러한 한국적 맥락을 배경으로 2005년 영국 아동정책의 변화를 점검해 보고자 한다.

The purpose of this article is to investigate how returning veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) develop psycho-social issues and describe how helping professionals can assist them with re-adapting to the community. Based on a literature review, the author explores the causes of psycho-social issues of returning veterans with PTSD, reviews various ways of helping, and proposes critical factors that helping professionals should be aware of when intervening in psycho-social issues of returning veterans with PTSD. It is found that psycho-social issues of returning veterans with PTSD are closely related to their distrust and aversion to authorities. Group therapy can be used as a viable intervention for alleviating PTSD symptoms and derived psycho-social issues in terms that veterans with PTSD tend to more open with other group members who can share and understand unique experiences.

The objective of the current study is to verify the moderating effect of social support and mediating effect of sense of self-respect in the impact of stress on depression of the elderly. The subjects of the study are 485 people aged 65 or above who use a comprehensive social welfare center. First, in the effect of stress on depression of elderly people, family issues, health issues, economic issues, and feeling of loss were found to be significant. Second, in the impact of self-respect in the elderly on their depression, family issues, economic issues, and feeling of loss were found to have a mediating effect on depression, but not with health issues. Third, in the impact of social support to the elderly on the relationship between their stress and depression, the moderating effect of social support on depression was found to have a negative value. Based on these findings, the study suggests practical implications on social welfare in reducing depression experienced by the elderly.

The dissemination of smart appliances, along with the development of the latest information and communication technology has an effect on society. Their application can be seen in the smart learning environment, by use of digital textbooks with smart devices in the classroom. Hence in this study, the 4L-ACC activity using digital textbooks was applied in the third grade social studies class to improve critical thinking and problem solving skills of elementary school students. This study compared and analyzed the impact in critical thinking and problem-solving skills using digital textbooks versus standard social studies classes. As a result, in social studies classes that used the 4L-ACC activity compared to common social studies classes, elementary student's problem understanding, critical thinking, problem resolution, reflective thinking, and all lower areas of critical thinking and problem-solving were improved. In conclusion, using digital textbooks enhance student's ability to think critically and problem solve. This should provide learners a more comprehensive learning experience and therefore be integrated into more education environment.

최근 인문사회과학은 지역적 특수성과 문화적 배경(context)를 무시하고 법측과 체계(system)을 추구하는 자연과학의 개념을 인간사회에 적용하려는 여러 이론들이 인간의 근본적인 문제를 해결하는데 한계가 있음을 지적하고 있다. 이러한 법치주의에 의한 법인간적인 해석보다는 지역적이고 문화적 상황하에서 인간사회의 문제를 이해하려는 경향이 지금까지 행태(behavior)나 사회구조(social structure system)의 이해를 통해 인간사회를 분석하고 있다. 그 방법론으로는 전체의 맥락(context)이나 주변의 연관관계를 통해 의미를 이해하는 책(text)의 해석(interpretation)의 비유를 그 틀(paradigm)로 하고 있다. 이러한 경향은 예술과 미의 문제도 같은 체계(system)속에서 이해하여 현대의 전통, 문화와 대중으로부터 분리된 예술과 미로부터 전통, 문화, 개인과 생활이 공명할 수 있는 본래의 예술과 미를 찾으려 한다. 본 연구는 이러한 사회문화 이론의 개념을 분석하고 그 원리와 이론의 축면에서 경관(landscape)을 해석하고 경관의 의미(미를 포함한)체계(meaning system)을 분석하여 설계언어(design language)를 찾아내며 이를 설계에 응용할 수 있게 하는 기본적 틀(paradigm)을 제시하고자 한다.

There are less studies on the adult suicide even though it's steep increase and negative effect on person itself, family and society. The purpose of the present study was to investigate factors that influence on the adult suicide and to categorize it. Using a case-study approach, a total of 61 cases were analyzed. Specifically, on the basis of the stress-vulnerability model, I scrutinized vulnerability factors(classified personal, family-environment, and social-environment factors) and precipitating events(classified personal, interpersonal events) influencing on the adult suicide. As the results of this study, adult suicide classified into 3 types, that is, 'risk type suicide', 'event-response type suicide', 'complex type'. And then I discussed the characteristics of the suicidal types and the method for reduction of adult suicide.

사회적 연결망 분석은 사회학에서 양적 분석방법과 질적 분석방법이 함께 안고 있는 문제, 즉 사회적 실체를 관계에 우선하여 측정하고 분석함으로써, 사회적 관계가 부차적이고 파생적으로 인식되는 문제를 해결하는 방안으로 제안되었다. 연결망 분석은 개인 혹은 집단과 조직간의 관계에 대한 형식적 접근을 통해 그 전반적 혹은 부분적 특성을 분석하는 방법으로, 사회적 구조의 발현적 속성에 초점을 맞춘다. 조직간의 연결망에 대한 분석을 통해 조직의 성과가 조직 자체의 속성 뿐 아니라 조직간의 관계의 속성에 의존함이 밝혀졌다.
