The Moderating Effects of Social Support in the Relationship between Career Barriers and Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy (대학생의 진로장벽이 진로결정 자기효능감에 미치는 영향 : 사회적 지지의 조절효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of career barriers and social support on the career decision making self-efficacy. It was established the study modeling which shows the moderation effect of social support in the relationship between career barriers and career decision making self-efficacy. The questionnaire has carried out for 307university students. The research findings were follow: There are significant differences in career decision making self-efficacy to sex. but there are non significant differences in career decision making self-efficacy to grade and affiliation. Career barriers has significant influenced on the career decision making self-efficacy. The more they had career barriers, the less they had career decision making self-efficacy. And there exist significant moderating effect of social support. The higher level of social support, the more the effects of career barriers on career decision making self-efficacy.

A Study on related factors of nursing students' self-efficacy, self-leadership and academic performance (간호대학생의 자기효능감, 셀프리더십 및 학업수행 관련요인에 관한 연구)

  • This study aimed to find the related factors of nursing students' self-efficacy(including general self-efficacy and social self-efficacy), self-leadership and academic performance. Collected data were analyzed using SPSS 19.0. The general self-efficacy scores of the subjects in who're admitted according to aptitude, higher school grades, extroverts, and higher leadership were significantly higher than those who weren't. The social self-efficacy scores were significantly higher in younger ages, extroverts and higher leadership. Self-leadership was higher in those who're admitted according to aptitude. Academic performance was significantly higher in the females and higher school grades. Social self-efficacy was positively correlated with self-leadership, and negatively with academic performance. Explanation rate of sex, general self-efficacy and social self-efficacy on academic performance was 10.5%. These results can be applied as a basis for developing guidelines of nursing students' self-efficacy, self-leadership and academic performance after repeated studies.

Relationship of Oral Health Behavior to Self-Efficacy among the Elderly (노인의 구강보건행동과 자기효능감의 관련성)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify general, physical, and social self-efficacy according to oral health behavior among the elderly and examine the factors affecting them. For this purpose, a survey was conducted in 500 persons aged 60 years or older residing in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province from June 1 to August 30, 2013. With the exception of 73 questionnaires that were not completed or contained insincere responses, 427 copies (recovery rate: 85.4%) were analyzed, thus obtaining the following results: 1) In terms of the respondents' socio-demographic characteristics, those who were younger, who were more highly educated, who were married, and who got a larger amount of monthly pocket money showed higher general, physical, and social self-efficacy, with statistically significant differences (p<0.001). 2) The group with good oral health behavior showed higher general and social self-efficacy and that with an average level of oral health behavior showed higher physical self-efficacy, with significant differences (p<0.001). 3) The factor most influential on oral health behavior was general self-efficacy (${\beta}=0.184$), followed by social self-efficacy (${\beta}=0.162$), physical self-efficacy (${\beta}=0.101$).

A study on the communication ability, general self-efficacy, social self-efficacy and academic achievement of nursing freshmen (간호학과 신입생의 의사소통능력, 일반적 자기효능감, 사회적 자기효능감 및 학업성취에 관한 연구)

  • This descriptive research is to find communication ability, general and social self-efficacy, and academic achievement in peer collaboration subject of nursing freshmen. The data were analyzed by SPSS/WIN 19.0. The communication ability was higher in the extroverts and high discussion preference ones(p=.01), females' social self-efficacy were higher than males'(p=.03), the general and social self-efficacy of the 'introverted' and 'middle' groups were higher than the extroverts'(p=.01). The social self-efficacy on the 'middle high', 'middle' and 'middle low' of self-evaluated school grades groups were higher than 'high' one's, even the academic achievement of 'high' group was the most(p=.01). There were negative correlations between communication ability and self-efficacy, and between social self-efficacy and academic achievement. And social self-efficacy affected on the academic achievement in peer collaboration subject($R^2=0.058$, p<.05). These results can be used as a basis for developing guidelines of nursing freshmen who have to complete a lot of theoretical and practical courses in university.

The Effect of Social Support on Depressive Symptoms among College Students : The Mediating Effect of Optimism and Self-efficacy (대학생의 지각된 사회적 지지가 우울 증상에 미치는 영향 : 낙관성과 자기효능감의 매개효과)

  • The aim of this research is to verify the mediating role of optimism and self-efficacy on the association between social support and depressive symptoms on among college students. 329 college students answered the survey questionnaires which assessed their social support, depressive symptoms, optimism, and self-efficacy. The results revealed that the higher levels of social support predicted the lower levels of depressive symptoms, the higher levels of optimism, and self-efficacy. In addition, the higher levels of optimism and self-efficacy predicted the lower levels of depressive symptoms. Lastly, the mediation analysis indicated that optimism and self-efficacy mediated the negative relationship between social support and depressive symptoms. That is, college students who highly perceived social support reported higher levels of optimism and self-efficacy, which led to lower levels of depressive symptoms. Finally, the implication and limitations of the present research were discussed and the directions for developing research were suggested.

  • 본 논문에서는 사회복지사의 직무만족과 자기효능감과의 관계에 대한 실증적 탐색을 위한 이론적 배경을 제안한다. 선행 연구들에 의하면 자기효능감이 높은 사람일수록 해당 직무를 적극적으로 선택하고 많은 노력을 경주하고, 지속적으로 시도할 가능성이 높고 따라서 한 개인이 취하는 행동이나 과업이 성공할 확률이 높다고 한다. 하지만 사회복지 영역에 있어서는 업무의 특수성상, 다른 사회과학 영역에서와는 다른 이론적 차이점이 존재할 것으로 추정된다. 따라서 이 논문에서는 직무만족과 자기효능감에 대한 기존 사회과학 영역에서의 이론적 배경들을 살펴보고, 향후 실증분석을 통하여 사회복지실천 연구의 영역확장을 꾀할 수 있는 기초를 제공하고자 한다.

Factors influencing family life-satisfaction among Korean adults: With specific focus on social support from spouse, trust of children and self-efficacy (배우자의 사회적 지원, 자녀에 대한 신뢰 및 자기효능감이 성인의 가정생활만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study examines factors influencing family life-satisfaction, focusing specifically on the role of spousal social support, trust of children and self-efficacy. Based on previous studies, two hypotheses were generated. A total of 857 adults (111 fathers and 111 mothers parents of elementary school students and 108 mothers and 108 fathers of high school students) completed a questionnaire consisting of self-efficacy scales (Bandura, 1995) and social support and life-satisfaction scales developed by the present researchers. LISREL analyses fully supported Hypothesis 1 and partially supported Hypothesis 2. First, spousal social support had a direct and positive effect on family life-satisfaction. Second, self-efficacy had a mediating effect between spousal social support and family life-satisfaction. Those respondents who received higher social support from spouse had higher self-efficacy, who in turn had higher family life-satisfaction. Third, trust of children did not have a direct effect on family life-satisfaction. Fourth, trust of children had a direct and positive effect on self-efficacy, which in turn had a direct and positive effect on family life-satisfaction. The results indicated that those respondents who had higher trust of children, had higher self-efficacy, who in turn had higher family life-satisfaction. Self-efficacy plays an important mediating role in increasing Korean adults' family life-satisfaction. This study reveal the importance of indigenous psychology in unraveling the factors influencing family life-satisfaction among Korean adults.

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the effect of self-efficacy and social support on self-leadership in nursing students. A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 237 nursing students from September to October 2017, and the study instruments comprised self-efficacy, social support, and self-leadership. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple linear regression using SPSS/WIN 21.0 program. The result showed that the difference in self-leadership relating to general characteristics were significant leader experience, friendship, and school club activities. The correlation among self-efficacy, social support, and self-leadership were significant, and the significant factors influencing self-leadership in nursing students were self-efficacy and social support. In order to increase self-leadership of nursing students, it is necessary to develop and apply a program that enhances self-efficacy and social support. This will help them grow into a competent nurse.

Working Elderly Persons' Formation of Social Capital and Self Efficacy (일에 참여하고 있는 노인의 사회적 자본형성과 자기효능감에 관한 연구)

  • The Purpose of this study was to examine the relationship social capital between self efficacy, and the elderly in participated employment or not. The subjects were 340 elderly people in K, S, Y City in Jeonnam. The statistics used for data analysi were reliability, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, one way ANOVA, correlation and multiple Regression. The results of this study were as follows ; First, the degree of social capital of the elderly in participated employment was 86.5(median value 81), while the degree of social capital who did not participated was 79.7. And the degrees of elderly's self efficacy was 43.2, those data showed higher than median. while the degree of self efficacy who did not participated was 39.1. Second, The elderly's social capital level in participated employment were significantly according to residence, religion, living state, economic state, frequency of employment, health state, spouse, monthly income, and the elderly's self efficacy level in participated employment were significantly according to social capital, economic state, monthly income, spouse, health state, living state, education, religion, frequency of employment, Third, participation on the employment for elderly' social capital was the highest correlation variable in self efficacy. Fourth, The variables that affect the elderly's social capital level were economic state, health state, spouse, religion, which explained about 13% of the total variance. And the variables that affect elderly's self efficacy level norm, economic state, network, participation, residence, health state, trust, age, spouse, which explained about 34% of the total variance.

The Effect of Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy and Social Support of University Students Majoring Dance on Career Preparation Behavior (무용전공 대학생들의 진로결정 기효능감과 사회적 지지가 진로준비행동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was to investigate the effect of career decision-making self-efficacy and social support of university students majoring dance on career preparation behavior. For the study, 300 students from universities in capital area were selected to measure their career decision-making self-efficacy, social support and career preparation behavior. Correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis have been conducted to analyze research question using SPSS Ver. 24.0. The conclusion from results and discussion are as follows. First, there were positive relationships between career decision-making self-efficacy and social support and career preparation behavior. Second, career decision-making self-efficacy influenced career preparation behavior. Third, appraisal support a sub-factors of social support effected on career preparation behavior but emotional support, material support and informational support did not effect on career preparation behavior. Forth, career decision-making self-efficacy effected more than social support on career preparation behavior. Shortly, this study explored that career decision-making self-efficacy influenced career preparation behavior.
