The purpose of this study is to develop a theoretical framework to analyze the social processes of embedding new technologies, among others, green technologies, in society, and based on this, to identify problems and challenges in introducing and assimilating biogas technologies in local communities in Korea. Chapter Two strives to develop a framework to analyze the social processes of embedding new technologies in society. A couple of key concepts such as technology community, technology learning and technology politics are introduced and discussed. Chapter Three and Four examine the problems arising from the social processes of embedding biogas plant technologies in local communities in Korea and tries to suggest policy options to tackle these problems.

Examination of the various impact factors on adoption sustainable IT can influence on the potential for creating sustainable businesses in today's society. However, the societal factor out of environmental factors, which stimulates customer intention to use sustainable IT, has seldom been investigated. In this paper, we examine the adoption of sustainable web technology from the pro-social behavior perspective. The concept of sustainable IT is theoretically examined based on social exchange theory. An empirical investigation is conducted into customer intention to use new sustainable IT. The results indicate that customers care about the social responsibility and usefulness of the sustainable IT-based services they choose. In this study, the social features of web technology and their influences on adoption are verified empirically for the first time. In addition, pro-sociality is identified as necessary to a perception of the socially responsible features of information technology. Furthermore, pro-social adoption behavior in the beginning stages of sustainable IT use is elucidated.

Usually social control and acceptance of science and technology is thought to be a separate or even confronting thing. But this paper aims to go beyond this simple and dichotomous thinking. Rather, this paper argues that social control and acceptance of science and technology can be combined altogether organically. In other words, this paper argues that social control of a particular science and technology has functional effects to the acceptance of that science and technology. Social control of a particular science and technology is a signal that something is going wrong; it reallocates attention and enhances social awareness; it evaluates ongoing activity; and it alters this activity in various ways to secure a sustainable future. In order to prove this functional hypothesis, this paper tries a case study of biotechnology from a perspective of sociology of science and technology. Especially social controversies around genetically modified organisms(GMOs) and embryo cloning in Korea are analysed deeply. As a conclusion, this paper proposes some policy implications of this study.

Common theories of affect underscore valence and arousal dimensions or specific emotion. However, given the role of affect in transacting social behavior, sociality may determine the subjective experience and interpersonal response to positive stimuli. The current study examined the relationships between social positive affect and perspective taking as well as positive coping. One potential moderating effect of agreeableness on these relations was also examined. In two experiments, film segments induced socially and non-socially generated positive affects. We hypothesized and found that positive affect associated with sociality would enhance perspective taking ability and positive coping, while non-social positive affect would not. Moreover, these effects varied as a function of the level of agreeableness. These findings suggest that the social/non-social dimension influenced which positive affects elicited perspective taking and positive coping, which could not be explained by differences in subjective emotional valence or arousal. Taken together, these findings have important implications, as they point toward a previously overlooked relation linking sociality to positive affect.

This study is to explore the factors that may affect the social adoption diffusion of innovative technology, focusing on smart mobility. It reviewed the literature on theory of social acceptance-diffusion and technology adoption model of innovative products, set up structural equation model that includes the causes and effects of perceived usefulness(the nexus among influences, perceived usefulness and purchase intention) and empirically tested the relationship. The survey, covering 534 non-users, was conducted from August 1, 2016 through August 12, 2016. The results show that compatibility and relative advantage significantly positively affect adoption intention through perceived usefulness, and that communication significantly negatively affect. However, complexity and service quality do not have significant positive effects on perceived intention and purchase intention. Some implications to promote social acceptance of smart mobility based on the results of the study are offered.

The purpose of study was to investigate the impacts of social isolation, psychological acceptance, and sleep disorder on depression among nursing students. Subjects were 383 nursing students in Gyeonggi-do, and survey was conducted from June to July 2015. The data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, multiple regression analysis. The results showed that depression was different in grade, academic stress, major satisfaction of nursing. Depression was correlated with social isolation (r=.47, p<.001), sleep disorder (r=.43, p<.001), and psychological acceptance (r=-.41, p<.001). Academic stress, major satisfaction of nursing, sleep disorder, social isolation, and psychological acceptance were identified as factors affecting depression. It is necessary to be considered social isolation, psychological acceptance, sleep disorder and other variables in developing convergence program to reduce depression in nursing students.

2020년 자동차산업의 핵심 키워드는 새로운 교통수단과 이동 서비스를 제공함으로써 새로운 비즈니스의 기회를 창출해야 하는 '이동성의 재발견', 글로벌시장의 다양한 소비자에게 신속하고 효과적으로 대응할 수 있는 시스템을 모색해야 하는 '전방위적 유연성', 미래사회 산업의 패러다임 변화에 대응하기 위해 자동차업체 이외의 new players의 참여를 유도하고 공존할 수 있는 열린 산업문화를 구축해야 하는 '소통과 협력', 미래경쟁력 확보를 위해 핵심기술의 선점과 상품화 노력을 강화해야 하는 '첨단기술의 융합'으로 요약할 수 있다. 그리고 미래 자동차산업의 경쟁력은 자동차 자체를 만드는 기술력 보다는 융합기술을 접목한 신서비스의 소비자 니즈 충족이 관건인 점을 감안할 때, 최근에 관심이 집중되고 있는 스마트카에 대한 적극적인 대처가 미래 자동차산업의 경쟁력을 확보하고 우리나라 자동차산업의 지속 성장을 보장할 수 있다고 판단된다. 이러한 스마트카는 운전자 지원이 중요하고 운전자 수용성, 사회적 수용성, 산업적 수용성의 기본원칙을 만족해야 하며 여기서 운전자 지원의 형태로는 인식의 지원, 판단의 지원, 조작의 지원을 그리고 지원의 기능으로는 크게 지각기능의 확대, 정보제공, 경보, 사고회피 지원제어, 운전부하 경감제어를 들 수 있다. 운전자 수용성이란 스마트카의 다양한 기능들이 가능한한 운전자에게 쉽게 전달되어야 하고 운전자가 이들 기능들을 과신하여 의존하는 일이 발생해서는 안된다는 것을 의미한다. 아울러 스마트카의 기능은 어떤 조건에서 효과가 어느 정도로 기대될까를 분명히 정해둘 필요가 있다. 즉 사회적 측면에서의 표준화, 법규화가 병행되어야 함을 의미하고 이것이 사회적 수용성이라고 할 수 있다. 마지막으로 산업적 수용성이란 자동차 산업은 기존 사업을 지속 성장시키고 new players에게는 새로운 사업에 참여할 수 있는 기회가 정당하게 주어져야 함을 의미한다.

Data were collected from 310 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students and parents by questionnaires and analyzed by t-test and multiple regression analysis. The higher parents attachment and parents monitoring, the higher prosocial behavior towards parents and siblings, the higher perspective-taking, the higher prosocial behavior towards parents, and the higher socioeconomic status, the higher prosocial behavior towards siblings. More prosocial behavior toward parents was reported by girls than by boys. Prosocial behavior toward siblings did not show a gender difference. In the total group, high parent attachment and perspective-taking predicted prosocial behavior towards parents; high parent attachment and socioeconomic status predicted prosocial behavior towards siblings. In the boy group, high parent attachment and perspective-taking predicted prosocial behavior towards parents; high socioeconomic status predicted prosocial behavior towards siblings. In the girl group, high parent attachment predicted prosocial behavior towards parents and high parent attachment and socioeconomic status predicted prosocial behavior towards siblings. Discussion focused on the relative importance of parents attachment, perspective-taking, and socioeconomic status in predicting early adolescents' prosocial behavior.

This study tried to examine the effect of multicultural adolescents' bicultural acceptance attitude on their life satisfaction and the serial multiple mediating effect of social competence and self-esteem in the relationship between them. To this purpose, we analyzed adolescents data from the first year(2019) of the 'Multicultural Adolescent Panel Study'(2nd group). As a result of the study, first, bicultural acceptance attitude had a significant positive effect on life satisfaction. Second, social competence mediated the effect of bicultural acceptance attitude on life satisfaction. Third, self-esteem mediated the effect of bicultural acceptance attitude on life satisfaction. Fourth, social competence and self-esteem were successively multi-mediated bicultural acceptance attitude on life satisfaction. Based on the results of this study, the implications of the results of this study were discussed along with measures to support the healthy growth and development of multicultural adolescents.
