Based on the theoretical review of social cooperatives and the results of the fourth round of fact-finding, this study tried to discuss the sustainability of social co-operatives from the social, economic, and environmental aspects, focusing on the seven principles of co-operatives. The issue of sustainability is "a development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, the use of resources, the direction of investment, technological advances and institutional change in harmony with one another. as defined as "a process of change that advances the needs and desires of all future generations". It contains the meaning of connecting a sustainable society to future generations through harmony and balance, rather than opposing concepts of social value, environmental conservation, and economic growth. As a result of arranging the concept of social, economic, and environmental sustainability contained in sustainable development, and the seven principles of cooperatives and their connections, I would like to suggest the following about the sustainability of social cooperatives. First, efforts should be made for social contribution closely related to the local community. Second, it is necessary to create a profit model along with the public interest. Third, partnerships should be strengthened. When examining the public values and objectives that social cooperatives want to realize through this study, the three scopes of sustainable development are directly related to the role of important actors in pursuing social and economic values that social and economic organizations are facing. would. Therefore, the sustainability issue of social cooperatives is based on the concept that the goals and values pursued by social cooperatives are harmonious and balanced development in the environmental, social, and economic aspects, not only their own efforts but also the institutional support of the government. this will have to be presented.

Political and academic concerns on creative economy have been increased, despite of the debates on its concepts and socioeconomic implications. This article is an exploratory study about the mechanisms and the sources in which creative economy works. Due to ICT revolution and expansion of individual's networking competency, collective knowledge created by networking and city/region in which the collective knowledge has been embedded became the parts and parcels of creative economy. Three sources of creative city is as follows: regional peculiarity and locality from industrial clustering, intensity of urban networks(openness), and value orientations in regional problem solving.

본 논문은 통계적 기법을 사용하여 이주시 아파트를 주택유형으로 선택하는 입주자의 사회$\cdot$경제적 특성을 실증적으로 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 아파트를 선택하는 주민의 인구사회적, 경제적 특성을 분석하는 한편 주거상태와 향후 희망하는 주거상태가 아파트 선택에 영향을 미치는 요인은 무엇인가를 로짓모형을 통해 밝히는데 목적을 두고 있다. 부산시의 주민 2000가구의 설문조사결과를 통해 향후 아파트로 이주하고자 희망하는 주민의 특성 및 현 주거와 향후 주거선호와 관련된 사항을 분석한다. 연구결과 가구의 아파트를 선택하는데 있어서 그 가구의 현주거상태와 희망하는 주거수준, 그리고 가구의 사회$\cdot$경제적 특성이 작용하는데 현주택상황과 관련하여서는 현 주택규모가 클수록 아파트를 선택하는 경향이 있으며, 희망하는 주거수준과 관련해서는 희망하는 주택의 방수가 적을수록 아파트를 선택하는 것으로 분석되었다. 가구의 사회$\cdot$경제적 특성 중에서는 배우자의 학력이 높을수록 아파트를 선택하는 경향이 높게 나타났으며, 이 변수는 어떠한 독립변수보다 아파트 선택에 강하게 작용하는 경향이 높게 나타났으며, 이 변수는 어떠한 독립변수보다 아파트 선택에 강하게 작용한다. 이밖에 가구의 월평균소득과 월평균 저축도 아파트를 선택하는데 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.

Since the end of 1997, the Korean economy has been in deep recession; the unemployment rate has rocketed to 6.7% and the economic growth rate has dropped to -3.8% in the first quarter of 1998. Facing with this mass unemployment, the Korean Government launched comprehensive countermeasures against mass unemployment.. However, these have been in severe criticism from the outset on account of ineffectiveness and impracticability. It is in this regard that this paper purports to design a socially acceptable and financially feasible social safety net by reforming the Livelihood Aid Programme. For this purpose, chapter 3 defines the concept of social safety net, and chapter 4 reviews the social safety net programmes sponsored by World Bank and IMF in the Third World countries and Eastern European countries. Chapter 5 proposes the Three Step Approach in designing the social safety net in Korea.

Social enterprise has been increasingly recognized for as important economic and social contribution to modern society. Recently, many efforts and academic researches related to social enterprise are now emerging from practitioners and academics. This work focused on the key elements affecting the performance of social enterprises such as specifically social entrepreneurship, relationship-oriented organizational culture and government support policy. In this empirical model, two performance variables such as economic and social performance represent the dependent variables. And the size and age of the social enterprises are the controlled variables. By analyzing survey data of 107 social enterprises interesting and meaningful results are obtained. Social entrepreneurship influenced economic and social performance of social enterprises. And relationship-oriented organizational culture influenced economic and social performance of social enterprises. On the other hand, government support policy influenced economic performance of social enterprises, but did not influence its social performance. The developed empirical model of social entrepreneurship in this study showed that community-oriented organizational culture and government policy are important factors for the efficient and successful management of social enterprises in Korea.

This paper tries to explore the impact of economic globalization on social capital accumulation. To investigate direct effect, we build a model and derive a proposition which can explain the relative decline in social capital brought about by market expansion. Besides direct effect, we also explore channel effect through democracy, government size, education attainment, and inequality. We estimate direct and channel effect of globalization using cross section of 65 countries data time period 1980-1999 using three-stage least squares(3SLS). Results are in line with predictions and clearly support that globalization significantly and negatively affects social capital accumulation. Channel effect also shows that globalization has a negative effect through aggravating income inequality while it has a positive effect through higher education attainment, higher level of democracy and larger government spending. Such a net negative channel effect reinforces our prediction. As a robustness check we estimate other sets of data and the result strongly supports our theory.

This study examined the economic burden of middle age householders supporting their family. They could not prepare for their later life because they are supporting their parents and children in their unstable employment. This study examined how to decrease the burden of middle age householders. Using the Korea Welfare Panel Study, this study analyzed data by hierarchical regression. The result showed that age, gender, education, unemployed, ownership of the house, number of employees, monthly income, and family relationship satisfaction had an effect on the economic burden of support by middle age householders. Based on the result, the researchers offered political suggestions for decreasing the levels of economic burden of support by middle age householders.
