A Study on Design Application for Signboard Arrangement of Jeonju Traditional Korean Style House Village (전주한옥마을 간판정비를 위한 디자인 적용방법에 관한 연구)

  • This study has been prepared based on signboard arrangement works in order to foster Jeonju traditional Korean style house village as a main city of traditional culture. Overall composition has been suggested based on basic direction of signboard design in order to ensure design standardization method and utilization and right installation of various signboards. Enquete had been progressed by dividing into three areas including general characteristics of Korean style house village, acquisition of information and mobility and regulation/range of signboard with taking 600 number of persons from Jeonju citizens, outsiders and residents of Korean style house village as targets. Based on above result, design concept and detailed sign application method had been defined and pictogram and signboard installation method of Korean style house was suggested. As for the administrative procedure and regulations of signboard arrangement, cooperative method among Jeonju City, publicity company, deliberation committee and local residents and administrative project implementation method were suggested. Therefore, this study had summarized the project progress of signboard design for Jeonju traditional Korean style house village so that it may be utilized as a basic data for ensuring that this village would be developed as a region where tradition and history will be well conserved in the future through consultation with the relevant authorities.

The Color Analysis Based on Formative Continuity of the Facade (파사드의 형태적 연속성에 따른 색채분석)

  • The facade in the street is a unfixed type, thus it is not easy to investigate the characteristic of structures. In addition, a color mainly depends on sensitivity, therefore, it is very difficult to provide the solution of the problems. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between a form of the facade and a color, and to introduce the methodology and the direction of the color scheme for the facade in the street. for the purpose of this study, 47 facades are empirically analyzed. Based upon the results of research analysis, this study try to find out the relationship among the formative continuity of the facade in the street, a color, and the quality of the material. From the results, it suggests the new direction for the image formation of the facade in the street centering around a color. This study concludes that the characteristics of the facade in the street is discontinuous, and the color scheme is not based on the formative continuity. Moreover, the whole street is composed of each strong individual character. In order to harmonious creation of the facade in the street, primary colors and painting colors should be constrained. Finally, the color scheme based on the formative continuity of the facade in the street should be carefully considered.

  • 기술이 발전함에 따라 사람이 해야 했던 상당 부분을 기계가 대신하거나 보조하게 되면서 사람들은 편리해지고 안전해졌다. 그러나 한편으로는 자연적인 위험을 줄이고, 생활의 편이를 돕기 위해 만들어진 기술에 의해서 인위적인 위험이 생겨나고 이는 돌이킬 수 없는 신체의 장애를 초래하기도 하였다. 지체장애인의 약 70%가 선천성 장애가 아닌 후천적인 이유라는 사실이 이를 뒷받침 한다. 점차 자애인의 수는 증가하고 있으며, 장애인의 권익을 최대한 보호하고 그들이 장애를 겪지 않는 사람들과 동등한 혜택을 누리면서 살 수 있도록 하기 위해 각 단체에서 지속적인 관심을 갖고 개선하기 위해 노력하고 있다. 특히 장애인의 절반을 차지하는 지체장애인이 대중교통을 이용의 편의를 위한 이동에 관한 부분은 많이 개선되었으나 여러 부분에서 개선과 보완이 필요하며 정보디자인 부분도 예외는 아니다. 특정 정보를 필요로 하는 사용자가 그 정보를 정확하게 쉽게 찾아 이해할 수 있도록 하는 것은 실제 환경에서 사람들의 편의를 돕기 위해 존재하는 매체들을 충분히 활용하기 위해서도 매우 중요하다. 이 연구에서는 공공물 디자인에 많이 적용되고 있는 유니버설디자인 관점에서 지체징인들의 대중교통의 대표적인 수단의 하나인 지하철 이용 편의를 위한 정보 전달 시스템의 중심인 사인시스템의 현황을 분석하고 개선 방안에 대해 연구해 보았다.

  • Recently there are increasing demands for establishing its peculiar city image in Korea. In establishing a urban image, streetscapes of various functional regions in city have very important roles. And many streetscape were designed and are under design for that purpose. There are many factors involved in the image-generation of streetscape, and the facade is one of the most important factors. In this study, we surveyed many factors in the city-regions of various functions to find out desirable characteristics of facade for each region. And we are going to use there findings as a basic data in the future streetscape design. We selected traditional region(Insadong, Chongro-gu, Seoul), apartment-type residential region (Apkujung-dong, Kangnam-gu, Seoul), and newly developed-downtown (Dunsan-dong, Seo-gu, Daejun) as streetscapes of various functions for facade study. Texture, color, form, size, structure and location of the following facade components were surveyed and analyzed. The surveyed components were window, entrance, equipment, signboard, show window.

  • V.M.D(Visual Merchandising Design) covers every space, environment, and visually stimulating factor. This includes not only the architectural appearance but interior, graphic sign boards, window display, layout, store appliances, lighting, and even the looks and service attitude that sales employees have and show to customers. V.M.D aims to display merchandise in multiple ways; to heighten brand images; to steadily lure many customers to the store. One of the characteristics that V.M.D has is, that this abandons the previous design concept which solely puts stress on luxurious interior-focused display; that this displays merchandise in a rational and systemic way and induces customers to buy products. In this regard, the objective of this study is to study brand perception and effect of V.M.D displayed in the stores, on customers, and thereby to present the concepts of V.M.D, suitable for display in the stores, which can be used continuously in the future.

  • The museum, run by the archives, should show historical facts about the president through objective records that are not fully evaluated. The wartime atmosphere should maintain solemnity to highlight the evidential value of records about history, but include an interesting element that allows visitors to come comfortably. It would be possible to accommodate 360 viewers at the same time, and it would be an option to limit the number of visitors considering the operation of weekend events and the donor honor hall. In this study, we established and presented an image integration plan centered on the color plan and the signature plan. Although the real image integration plan is a case study that starts with symbols and logos and is conducted through an integrated and systematic system through the basic design and application design system, it is considered to be a meaningful study in terms of practical use.

How to Improve Hospital Satisfaction through Improvement of Hospital Bulletins - Through case study and patient satisfaction survey (병원 게시물 개선을 통한 병원 만족도 향상 방안 연구 - 실태 분석 및 환자 만족도 조사를 통하여)

  • Purpose: This study aims to provide a way to improve hospital satisfaction through improvement of hospital bulletins based on the analysis of the actual condition of hospital bulletins and satisfaction analysis for patients. Methods: First, a case study is conducted. After setting the analysis items based on previous studies and case study, a satisfaction survey is conducted on patients and statistical analysis is performed. Results: As a result of factor analysis, factors were classified into four categories: legibility, visibility, effectiveness, and frequency. As a result of the importance analysis through multiple regression analysis of four factors affecting hospital satisfaction, the importance of the "legibility" factor was the highest, followed by the "frequency", "effectiveness", and "visibility". As a result of the satisfaction analysis of the bulletins in the study site, the "visibility" factor was the highest, followed by "legibility", "effectiveness", and "frequency". Implications: In order to improve hospital satisfaction, the improvement of factors of high importance should be considered first. In other words, in hospital bulletins, legibility and frequency should be considered first. In addition, hospital satisfaction can be maximized by improving the level of factors and variables that are low in the satisfaction survey by factor.

  • Digital signage is constantly being researched as new digital video platform to replace existing signage market. Traditionally, It conveys various information combining still images with text. Nowadays, it is rapidly exchanging to multi digital platform by high specificaton system, improvement of internet speed and advancement of video and audio compression technology with HTML5 technology. Not only a single wide-screen display but also the combination and adjustment of screens with setop box, OLED, media facades, and lase beam projectors are transformed into various forms to enable creative and diverse attempts for graphic designers. This study focuses on the application of motion graphics in rapidly evolving future platform - digital signage, and looking forward to help digital video content creator, researchers, and motion graphic designers.

A Study on the Components and Color Characteristics of the Streetscape of History·Culture Streets - Focused on the Bookstore Street in Kaifeng, China - (역사·문화 가로경관의 구성요소 및 색채특성 연구 - 중국 카이펑시 (中国 開封市) 서점거리를 중심으로 -)

  • In this study, the Bookstore Block of Historical and Cultural Street in Kaifeng City is taken as the object, which makes analysis on the landscape color features appearing in the elements of the bookstore block landscape. Through literature, it obtains the contrast list for the landscape composite elements of the historical and cultural street. After mastering the general characteristics of architectural colors and basic analysis methods of landscape colors in the Qing Dynasty, it conducts the site survey on the landscape composition elements and colors of the bookstore block. According to the conclusion, it is found that the landscape color of bookstore block is composed of R series, PB series, Y series and achromatic (N) series, in which the overall color shows relatively high integrity. However, it exists some deficiencies in the use of colors in signs, facilities and modeling objects. Therefore, it is necessity to increase the color plan of landscape elements such as signs, modeling objects and facilities, enhance the recognition possibilities of visual information.

An Analysis on the Relationship between the Art Elements and Preference of Urban Street Furnitures (도시 가로시설물의 조형 요소와 선호도 간의 상관성 분석)

  • This study was carried out for the purpose of analysis correlations between street furniture design elements and preference of street furniture. This research analyzed the various street furniture set on Ilsan new town street, which are rest, hygiene, light, information, sale, traffic, and landscape. This study has processed by analysing street furniture literature investigation and consideration of theory. First, for analysed effect of street furniture element, has been appear as element 'relaxation facilities', 'information facilities', landscape facilities' mainly effect on street. Specially, 'rest', 'landscape', 'information' in order had a major influence on scenery. Each kind of 'chair elements' in rest facilities, 'sign board' in information facilities, 'sculpture', 'fountain' in 'landscape facilities' has analyzed as the main elements in the landscape affinity property affecting factor. Second, the results of analyzed landscape elements (shape, colour, texture, scale) affect to the affinity of street furniture. chair which are included in rest facilities affect "texture", "form", "scale", "color" in the order of preference of the molding design elements that influence landscape. Particularly, showed statistically significant on 'colour' element affecting the landscape preference than the other three elements. It means as the chair element which is rest facilities mainly affect on preferences, rather than texture, form, scale, colour. Monument in the landscape associated with a preference 'colour', 'shape', 'texture' 'scale' and appears to be in order of impact so we could get the consequence like chair and rest facilities show different aspects of the respectively. It means, visual element which are colour and shape significantly impact on landscape preferences. Third, information facilities such as signboard formative elements of landscape design preferences and correlation with negative showed that the correlation. That mean if the sign board is very negative influence on landscape preferences and the correlations of the design formative elements appear in order of 'scale', 'colour', 'texture'. It also means that the 'scale' namely the size of advertising material and colour are adversely affected in terms of landscape. As these results, when design street furniture as the street scenery, facilities according to the kind of the shape element and need to focus on relative shape element according to the kind of facilities difference. Finally, so far as to clarify the street furniture, mainly 'function' and 'system' classification shows undesirable in outdoor scape. Thus, performed studies in relationship with landscape, classify 'kind of facilities' is more desirable than 'system'.
