  • This study aims to reveal the dissolving process around the customary common right to forest utilization through a series of policies consolidating the modern forest ownerships in Korea under the rule of Japanese Imperialism. The existence of the customary common right to forest utilization has been widely recognized since the old time. Common profitable actions in a certain area have been given to village residents to gain useful materials such as forage, timber, fuelwood, wild animals, soil, grazing, and quarry in forest, which were necessarily required for their own daily life as customary commodities. This right was divided into the right around common forests and special easement in forests. Therefore, the common forests applicable of these rights were classified into village common forests and special easement forests. Especially, General-Government granted the national forests in pre-emption to a private(88.6%, 2,463,555chungbo) or public(12.1%, 299,050chungbo). After all, most of the common forests were transferred into national forests in earlier stage and then later into public ar private forests by Japanese Imperialism.

  • This study aims to analyze the aesthetic thought and expression tendency appeared in contemporary architecture by looking at today's architectural art based on the concept of the uncanny that Sigmund Freud contended as an aesthetic principle, of the aesthetic concepts tossed around to define the contemporary times in the aesthetics field and discuss the architectural analysis possibility of the concept of the uncanny. The generation structure of the uncanny that generates experiences of fear and surprise is classified into dual structure, trauma, threatening structure, and repetition compulsion. This is the principle that evokes a sense of experiencing subject, incorporates sensibility, and vitalizes internal process. This is also the methodology to organize and structure the concept of the uncanny. When seen from the four factors drawn from the concept of the uncanny and aesthetic expressions, the uncanny expression characteristics of contemporary architecture includes isolation, subversion, trace, absence, oblique line, flotation, concealment, and disturbance. Isolation and subversion refers to producing the space of the pressure of tension and relaxation caused by repression and relief from repression and eliciting the maximum expansion of the sense of space through spatial change. Trace and absence indicates being able to elicit more intense emotions from the experiencing subject by applying the images of alienation and absence in the way to reproduce historical trauma. This happens by implementing the potential value of physical activity. Oblique line and flotation means visual impulse. This happens in the way to visualize uneasy points. This causes uncanny by threatening the survival. Finally, concealment and disturbance refers to creating unpredictable space. The concept of masquerade and maze space composition are applied in the way to activate spatial perception, including space exploration and unintended subject's forced selection. As stated above, the uncanny expression characteristics shown in contemporary architecture can be presented as indicators that are available to analyze the undecided and diversified contemporary architecture aesthetically. In this respect, this study has great significance.

  • According to the current legislation in Korea, some of national R&D reports cannot be disclosed or registered, when they need external security or the interested parties require them to be classified for a certain period of time. Therefore, there are some effects on the collection and circulation of information about R&D reports. Since those closed national R&D reports are the important outcomes from national R&D projects, they should be properly open, circulated and used by the public, when the reasons for closing those reports are removed. This study examines the present condition of the closure system of national R&D reports, and proposes a plan for collecting and utilizing the closed national R&D reports at the national level.

  • This study aimed to analyze the debate on the Elementary School Mathematics Contents in the new National Elementary Mathematics Curriculum developed in 2006. With this, the feature of the new National Mathematics Curriculum compared with the past 7th National Elementary Mathematics Curriculum was investigated. And the drafts on developing the new National Elementary Mathematics Curriculum were investigated as well. Three main controversies were identified. The first controversy was related to the item which had been dealt in middle school curriculum and moved to elementary school in the new National Mathematics Curriculum (e.g. equations, direct proportion and inverse proportion). The second one was related to the order of teaching fraction. The third one was related to the fact that problem solving became one of the five domains in Elementary School Mathematics Curriculum. Those controversies came from a basic belief on the ranges and depths of elementary school mathematics, didactical point of view, or thoughts on what should the content in the National Mathematics Curriculum be. The issues and suggestions that were discussed in this paper might serve to improve the National Mathematics Curriculum.

  • Since trees sequestrate carbon and reduce the level of its concentrations in the atmosphere, forests should be considered as carbon pools as well as timber producers. This study focuses on finding optimal harvest age when carbon sequestration from trees is accounted by forest managers. A dynamic programming employs a static volume matrix, and solves the harvest decision problems. If carbon value is accounted in a tree harvest decision model, the optimal harvest age increases. The harvest age of pine trees set by the government for national forests is longer than the optimal solution. It is possible to say that the managers of national forests put more values on the standing pine trees than the value of carbon sequestration. The regulation for private forests, on the other hand, ends up in a shorter harvest age than the optimal solution, and this discrepancy could lead to an inefficient private forest management.

  • The thought of Emmanuel Mounier addresses the most important problems in human life. In this research we try to analyze the three ontological characteristics of 'Person'. First the person has an indefinable character and is not substitutable since he is the true self which is the inner and spiritual being constituting the self-consciousness of an individual. The person has his individuality precisely because he is an individual and his being sovereign in having his own world. Next, the person's individuality has an ontological solitude from his own perspective. Nevertheless, having essentially an existential openness since it receives the elements that compose his own world by relationship and communication between men, and being connected unremittedly, the person is paradoxical. Finally, the person appears as a dynamic thing that continues to create the new self-consciousness. And this dynamism of the person wants to proclaim its self identity while at the same time, aim for a "personification of society" based on the love of humanity. Because of this we can say that the thought of Emmanuel Mounier on the person may be a new type of "humanism" that can give light to the misery of modern society.

The results of this research are as follows: Suhomlinsky considered the enrichment of the learners mental life as a primary goal of education. Therefore, school education must ensure that children's learning be a part of their abundant mental life, and that it must contribute to the building of children's wisdom and their becoming a whole being as humans. In this perspective, Suhomlinsky emphasized the importance of education that enriches the mental life through reading books. He insists that education through reading books is a valuable course in lifelong education, and suggests specific ways to put it into practice. He points out the need for the students' liberty to think freely in schools, and claimed that providing students with breaks and free times is a way to obtain invaluable treasures. His experinences in educational practices may provide implications that will help solve the problems our education faces today.

  • This paper examines ${\acute{e}}pist{\acute{e}}m{\grave{e}}$ of ${\acute{e}}criture$ and its politics in Kim, Soo-Yung's poems, focusing on 'language-letter' images such as "speech", "language", "printing type", "letter", "brush", "book" and so on. While the previous papers fail to present the overall framework of analysis on 'language-${\acute{e}}criture$' images and to show political dimensions of discourse analysis, this paper tries to overcome these limitations. It explains images of 'speech' and 'language' on the basis of Heidegger's ontological thought, and analyzes writing-images such as 'type', 'letters' using Derrida's concepts of 'archi-${\acute{e}}criture$' and '${\acute{e}}criture$'. It also gives a new name to multiple images of 'book' in his poems as 'politics of ${\acute{e}}criture$' based on problematic such as Badiou's 'ethics of truths' and Derrida's '${\acute{e}}criture$'.
