A Service Marketing Success Using Internet of Things: The Case of Cleveland Museum of Arts in the United States (사물인터넷을 이용한 서비스 마케팅의 성공: 미국 클리블랜드 미술관의 사례)

  • This paper tries to find the implications applied to art institutions of Korea by analyzing what the content and consequences of services of the Cleveland Museum of Art provided after the Internet of Things adoption in the theoretical perspectives strengthening service marketing through the Internet of Things increases visits and participation in the museum. For analysis, journal articles, statistics, and government press releases, news articles, web pages, web page articles are collected. The results are first, the application of digital and social media is positive in visit to the museum and monetization. Second, the introduction of the Internet of Things will enhance the museum's 'Education', 'Accessibility', 'Communications' services, as well as significantly increase on and offline participation by activating experience. Third, technical support from related companies with the support of local government funds is essential to build the system. Consequently, in order to enable the participation of the spectators in the galleries it is proposed aggressive adoption of such digital technology in domestic barren market of Internet of Things.

  • Thanks to the development of information technology and the vitalization of smart services, the Internet of Things (IoT) technology, in which various smart devices are connected to the network, has been continuously developed. In the legacy IoT architecture, data processing has been centralized based on cloud computing, but there are concerns about a single point of failure, end-to-end transmission delay, and security. To solve these problems, it is necessary to apply decentralized blockchain technology to the IoT. However, it is hard for the IoT devices with limited computing power to mine blocks, which consumes a great amount of computing resources. To overcome this difficulty, this paper proposes an IoT architecture based on the edge computing technology that can apply blockchain technology to IoT devices, which lack computing resources. This paper also presents an operaional procedure of blockchain in the edge computing-based IoT architecture.

A Resource Planning Policy to Support Variable Real-time Tasks in IoT Systems (사물인터넷 시스템에서 가변적인 실시간 태스크를 지원하는 자원 플래닝 정책)

  • With the growing data size and the increased computing load in machine learning, energy-efficient resource planning in IoT systems is becoming increasingly important. In this paper, we suggest a new resource planning policy for real-time workloads that can be fluctuated over time in IoT systems. To handle such situations, we categorize real-time tasks into fixed tasks and variable tasks, and optimize the resource planning for various workload conditions. Based on this, we initiate the IoT system with the configuration for the fixed tasks, and when variable tasks are activated, we update the resource planning promptly for the situation. Simulation experiments show that the proposed policy saves the processor and memory energy significantly.

  • 최근 사람과 사람, 사람과 사물의 연결에서 일상생활의 모든 것들을 상호 연결시키려는 사물인터넷 기술이 신 성장 동력의 핵심으로 주목받고 확산되어가고 있다. 이러한 IoT 기술의 활성화 및 신규 서비스 창출로 인해 우리의 삶의 질 향상 및 산업 발전을 이루고 있지만 인터넷에 연결된 장치의 수가 증가할수록 이에 수반하는 공격 대상 증가 및 위협 요소도 확장되어 가고 있어 사물인터넷 환경을 안전하게 구축하고 확산하기 위해서는 반드시 사물인터넷에 수반되는 보안적인 이슈를 해결해야 한다. 이러한 해결방안은 단순히 기술적 대응만이 아닌 사용자 스스로가 위협요소를 대처할 수 있도록 사용자 보안 대응방안이 필요하다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 IoT 환경에서 발생할 수 있는 위험요소를 도출하고, 이를 토대로 일반 사용자 환경에서 고려해야할 위험요소를 검토해보고 사용자 위협요소는 크게 기술적, 비기술적인 관점으로 구분하여 제시하였다.

  • In recent times, Internet of Things (IoT) has attracted wide attention, and there are increasing requests for IoT application services. Open-Source Hardware (OSH) utilizes a variety of components that are created through the sharing of hardware design so that others developers can also work on it. The concept of "open source" that attracted attention in the software industry has been applied to the hardware field by the emergence of IoT market. The emergence of OSH that has the advantage of low hardware cost and faster development encourages the idea of a diverse IoT application services. In this paper, we describe an IoT application service system that is developed using the OSH platform Arduino and Raspberry Pi to process collection, exchange, and computation of the environmental information. The overall system architecture and hardware and software components are presented.

  • Recently, the Internet of Things is an important technology with a Cloud computing services and a Big data in the IT fields. and The Internet of Things is widely used in various industries. This trend may be referred to as the emergence of significant based technologies for realizing a ubiquitous times. But the security problems of Internet of things are expected to increase with being realized in a variety of industries. and it will be have to provide a corresponding technology to the security threat for this. Therefore, this paper will be analyzed to the security threats of the Internet of Things by the cases. Thereby this is expected to be utilized as a basis for the countermeasure of Internet of Things in a future.

  • 사물인터넷(Internet of Things, IoT) 분야는 모든 기기, 사람, 사물 등이 네트워크로 연결되는 초연결 사회를 지향한다. 이에 반해 전력시스템은 폐쇄망으로 운영되고 있으며, 차세대 전력망이라 일컬어지는 스마트 그리드 환경에서도 개방형 양방향 통신을 기반으로 논의는 되고 있으나, 정보보안 취약성이 높아지고 사고 위험이 증가함에 따라 전력망의 안전성 및 신뢰성 확보에 대한 중요도가 증가하고 있다. 이처럼 초연결 사회를 전력분야에 적용하기 위해서는 적용대상의 정의, 적용방법 등에 대한 기본적인 표준 정립을 통해 IoT 확산 저해요인을 조기에 해소하는 것이 필요하다. 본고에서는 전력 및 에너지 분야에 사물 인터넷을 도입하고 활성화 하기 위해 필요한 에너지 IoT(eIoT) 표준 시스템에 대해 알아본다.
