Theoretical Analysis on the Array Microphone Measurement for Noise from Rails (배열 마이크로폰을 이용한 레일 방사 소음 측정에 관한 이론 해석)

  • In this paper, rail vibration and its sound radiation are investigated, then the rail noise measurement by using microphone array is explored theoretically. A concrete slab track for domestic high speed trains is modeled as a Timoshenko beam on elastic support, regarding the moving of the excitation force on the rail. From the radiation characteristics of rail noise generated by a line source, the effect of moving load on sound radiation is obtained. Also it is found that the beam angle of the microphone array is a prominent factor to measure the rail noise level reliably because the rail noise propagates as a plane wave. In this investigation, a proper beam angle for the rail noise measurement by microphone array is suggested.

  • This paper aims to maximize the exhibition effect and to emphasize the efficiency of sample information transfer by using the surrealism dephase network technique and beam projection mapping by aesthetically approaching the arrangement of the existing exhibition specimens in the science museum using natural history contents. It presents the limitations of the existing analog natural history sample information transmission in digital form to give viewers interesting and fun and suggests the direction of using digital diorama for sample exhibition.

Analysis of Steel Bridge by means of Specially Orthotropic Plate Theory (특별직교이방성 판이론을 응용한 강교량의 해석)

  • The specially orthotropic plate theory is used for analysis of panels made of girders and cross-beams. The cross-sections of both girders and cross-beams ar H-type. A method of calculating natural frequencies corresponding to the modes of vibration of beams and tower structures with irregular cross sections and arbitrary boundary conditions was developed. The results of application of this method to steel bridge by using specially orthotropic plate theory is presented. The result is compared with that of the beam theory. Finite difference method is used for this purpose. The influence of the $D_{22}$ stiffiness on the natural frequency is rigorously investigated. According to numerical examination given in this paper the result by the plate theory is 2.43 times stiffer than of beam theory.

  • Active damping system is generally used for the vibration suppression and precise motion control for the flexible structure. This application can be easily found on the space structure and driving mechanism of optical storage devices. Although a control system using the flexible structure has many advantages over using rigid mechanism in driving energy saving, system weights, and etc., more complex and precise control strategies are required. A position control system using flexible structure and the concept of active damper is designed and manufactured, which is driven by slide DC motor and moving coil motor located at the tip of the flexible beam. Dynamic characteristics of this system are investigated by analytic and experimental ways. By the comparison of those two results, a nominal reference model for this system is proposed.

  • 광굴절 물질은 광학적 위상공액 및 신호처리, 홀로그램 기록소자 및 광정보처리를 포함한 다양한 분야에 응용되고 있다. 또한 광굴절 결정의 광굴절 특성도 실험 및 이론적으로 활발하게 연구되고 있다. 그리고 본 연구에서 사용한 BaTiO$_3$ 결정은 외부에서 인가하는 전기장 없이도 매우 높은 전기광학계수(electrooptic coefficient)를 가지고 있어서 다양한 응용이 기대되는 광굴절 매질이다. 광굴절 결합계수를 측정하게 될 때, BaTiO$_3$ 결정에서의 두 빔의 결합에 대한 이득(gain)의 변화는 물질의 외부적인 특성, 즉 전기광학 텐서와 트랩의 농도 등에 의존할 뿐만 아니라, 외부적으로 조정될 수 있는 변수들, 예를 들면 매질에 입사되는 두 빔사이의 각도, 매질의 광축과 격자벡터 사이의 각도, 그리고 입사된 두 빔의 세기의 비 등에 의존하게 된다.   • MIMO receiver for multiplexing gain brings about antenna volume issue to which beam pattern switching scheme shall be one of the solutions. This scheme has been studied mainly in theory.   • A sonar dome is basically designed and installed to protect sonar array from shocks, sea wave slaps and floating matters. The acoustic wave passing through sonar dome, however, can be distorted in magnitude and phase. This paper presents a numerical method for predicting the steady-state sound pressure on the surface of transducer array in the sonar dome and typical results of sonar beam pattern affected by sonar dome. A beam tracing model with phase information and a multi-layered elastic boundary model are involved. A full three-dimensional sonar dome is modeled as a GRP acoustic window, a rubber coated steel baffle and a rubber coated steel hull. A transducer array is modeled as thick steel cylinder. There are some assumptions such as incidence of plane wave, specular reflection on boundary and directionality of transducer element.

  • 다이오드 레이저로 펌핑되는 Nd:YAG 매질에 형성된 열 복굴절은 레이저 출력과 빔질의 저하를 초래한다. 선편광된 레이저 출력을 얻기 위해서는 주로 공진기 내에 선형 편광자를 삽입하게 되는데, 레이저 매질에 형성된 열 복굴절에 의한 왜곡 편광된 레이저 빔이 편광자에 의해 반사되어 공진기 손실을 초래한다. 편광 왜곡에 의한 레이저 빔의 손실을 줄이거나 이중 초점을 제거하기 위해 주로 사용되어지는 광 소자는 Faraday 회전자, λ/4 판, 석영 회전자 등이 사용되어진다.$^{(1-5)}$ 90$^{\circ}$ 석영 회전자와 Faraday 회전자는 공진기 내에 두 개의 동일한 구조를 갖는 레이저를 이용할 경우 사용되고 λ/4 판 과 45$^{\circ}$ Faraday 회전자는 주로 단일 레이저 헤드의 복굴절 보상을 위해 사용되어진다. 45$^{\circ}$ Faraday 회전자는 이론적으로 완벽히 열복굴절에 의한 편광 왜곡을 보상한다. 그러나, 열복굴절을 완벽히 보상하기 위해서는 레이저 빔이 항상 레이저 매질의 같은 지점을 통과해야 한다. 실제적으로 레이저 매질에서는 열에 의한 열 렌즈 효과가 있기 때문에 레이저 빔이 항상 같은 지점을 통과하지 않게 된다. 이런 문제를 해결하기 위해 공진기 내에 열 렌즈 효과를 보상하기 위한 렌즈를 삽입하거나 레이저 헤드를 공진기 거울 가까이 설치하여야 한다. Faraday 회전자는 길이가 길기 때문에 레이저 헤드를 공진기 거울 가까이 설치하기는 어렵고 항상 열 렌즈 효과를 보상해주는 광학 소자가 있어야 하는 단점이 있다. 반면 λ/4 판은 완벽한 편광 왜곡을 보상해주지 않아 레이저 손실을 초래하지만 두께가 얇아 레이저 헤드와 공진기 거울을 근접해서 설치할 수 있어서 몇몇 연구자에 의해 연구되어 졌다.$^{(3)}$ 본 연구에서는 λ/4 판을 이용하고 편광기에서 반사된 빔을 공진기에 되반사 시키는 구조를 사용하여 선 편광된 레이저의 출력과 빔의 질을 개선 시켰다. Orthogonal Code Sharing and Radio Resource Allocation in Multibeam Satellite Communication Systems (다중빔 위성 통신 시스템에서 빔간 직교 코드 공유 기법과 동적 무선 자원 할당)

  • In this paper, we propose a novel code sharing method for downlink transmission of mobile satellite communication systems using a multibeam geosynchronous-orbit satellite. In the proposed system, spreading codes are shared among downlink beams in order to increase the system capacity. We also propose efficient radio resource and transmit power allocation schemes for the proposed system. Simplified analysis and simulation results on the system capacity show the capacity improvement by the proposed scheme. The simulation results show that the capacity of the proposed system is more than 2 times as large as that of a conventional multibeam satellite system. In the frequency-selective fading channel, the capacity improvement increases as the interference between orthogonal spreading codes decrease.

  • This paper proposes the code acquisition scheme on a MIMO channel for preamble search in a CDMA-MIMO uplink system. The multiple transmit/receive antennas are used for beamforming. The performance of a ML code acquisition technique based on transmit and receive beamforming is analyzed by considering rho detection probability. The acquisition performance and MAT for a MIMO code acquisition system are numerically evaluated. It is shown that multiple transmit antennas can give the code acquisition system a transmit beamforming gain and result in much better performance than a SIMO case.
