Giving behavior promotes social solidarity and lessens social deprivations by voluntary practices to make better communities. Despite the increasing trend of giving in terms of participation and amount in Korean society, the giving culture has deeply rooted in charitable emotion based on compassion, still far from social solidarity. This paper attempts to identify giving behavior by investigating its characteristics and changes in its motives from the compassion-based social welfare to social responsibility and community solidarity, centering around 'Yellow envelope campaign' started in 2014 to support the living expenses and cost of litigation for the fired workers of Ssangyong Motors. By employing questionnaire survey and in-depth interview, it analyzes the horizontal relationships, reciprocal responsibility, social capital, and pursuit for conflict solution. Even though the campaign didn't change our society as a whole, but it cast the social questions on the birth of social empathy and solidarity.

The signs of the information society are everywhere, as they became the essentials in ordinary citizen's everyday life. This change requires the modern man to have proper information literacy in order to maintain their lives, and the digital divide between the established and the marginalized in the society is being widened. The gap between the two classes is the single most significant factor in reproducing the socially marginalized such as the urban poor, the disabled, the aged and migrate foreign laborers, core information poor. This study attempts to scrutinize the social problem of information barriers as viewed through the everyday lives of five disabled people. Through various ethnographic positioning and research methods, information needs and information related behaviors, along with general recognitions and reality control strategies are investigated.

This study was established to understand how Arte Povera has affected the contemporary fashion based on the analyses of its characteristics and may provide a prospective view to predict style of future fashions. The results were as follows : 1) “The poverty” shows such characteristics as patch work, intentional mismatch, and tendency to prefer slightly used style. This meaning can be explained as direct expression from a sense of alienation, against to consumer economy, and dual-expression between poverty and wealth. 2) “Anti-formativeness” can be described for misinterpretations of creation, arrangement, and informal silhouette due to distortion of the human body. This expression includes such meanings as against to traditionalism, ignorance of rationality, and disorganization of the concepts between the beauty and the ugly. 3) “Naturalism” indicates as characteristics of use of natural materials and primitive expression. This expression could be generated from adaptation to the nature and desire toward uncivilized society due to skepticism about modern society. 4) “Symbolism” shows such expressions as an isolated feeling from society, and metaphoric sense from specific situations because there are too many applications of imported materials. This tendency can be also explained with the creations of spaces for opened concepts through disorganizations of territory, obscurity, and irregularity.

This study intended to analyze the grunge look as a mode of expression and as a characteristic of the fashion of the 21st century, arguing that the look expressed not only an outward appearance or sub-culture but also a change in our attitude and spirit about contemporary fashion. In the study, I carried out an empirical analysis focused on the collection from 2001S/S to 2010F/W and a literature review. In my results, I classified the grunge look into the following categories: 1. mix and match layering; 2. patchwork, collages, and assemblage using all objects as well as clothing materials; and 3. distressing techniques, such as bleaching and dyeing, unweaving, and tears and holes. I also classified the characteristics of grunge into the following categories: 1. conspicuous destitution, which is intentionally expressed by skillful techniques and craftsmanship, indicating that modern people want to attract attention and be distinguished from others, which reflects an attitude of superiority through ironic fashion choices; 2. high lighting the dissolution of decoration, where destruction, poverty and recombination shown in the grunge look emerged as an artificial and intentional ugly aesthetic in contrast to the existing elegant and sophisticated image; and 3. satire and playfulness, as grunge expresses alienation and conflict in modern society through satire and sarcasm, not attacking or avoiding, but through playful and sarcastic engagement so as to decrease poverty and give temporary freedom.

21세기 국내 기업의 해외 투자 진출을 활성화하고 중소기업의 자발적 참여를 고취하기 위해 중소기업 베트남 진출에 관한 조사연구를 수행하였다. 국내의 베트남 진출희망 중소기업 100개 업체를 대상으로 베트남진출에 관한 준비사항과 진행사항을 중심으로 설문조사를 실시하여 28개 업체의 응답내용을 분석하였다. 베트남 진출 희망 중소기업 가운데 국내 또는 현지 자료수집 작업에도 불구하고 약70% 이상은 베트남 진출을 위한 사전조사 작업이 불충분하다고 응답했는데 그 주요 이유로는 수집된 자료 내용의 빈곤(66%), 해당 자료 수집의 불편성(29%) 등을 들었다. 베트남 진출을 준비중인 중소기업이 갖는 애로 사항으로는 베트남어 및 영어의 언어장애와 현지인의 문화관습 등에 이해부족, 사회주의 체제의 외국인 투자법규 및 각종 제도에 대한 이해부족 등이었다. 성공적인 중소기업의 베트남 진출을 위해 장기적, 안정적으로 지원할 우리 정부 내 전담 지원기구와 보다 접근이 용이하고 유용한 지원정보를 계속적으로 제공할 필요성이 있다.

사회경제적 지위(혹은 위상) 개념이 심리학에서도 많이 사용되어 왔지만 많은 문제점들이 노정되어 본 연구에서는 이를 특정하고 이를 해결하는 방안을 모색하였다. 연구 결과, 이 지표로 사용되는 것으로는, 직업, 교육수준, 수입, 빈곤 수준, 부의 수준, 가족구조(가족 수), 사회적 통합 수준, 주택 소유 여부, 물질적 생활 조건, 가계소비단위당 수입, 경제적 어려움, 경제적 만족, 밀집도, 공적 지원수준 등이 있다. 이들 지표들 중 몇 개를 선택하여 측정한 후 지표들을 따로 따로 하나씩만 사용하는 경우도 있고, 이들 지표들을 통합적으로 사용하는 경우도 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 이들 문제를 해결하기 위해 첫째, 이 개념을 적용하지 않고 단순히 이 지표 한 두 개를 사용하려면 SES라는 개념을 사용하지 말아야 한다. 둘째, 이 개념을 적용하려면 이들 개별 지표들을 사용하는 것은 부적절하고, 통합된 지수 형태로 사용해야 할 것, 마지막으로, 우리 문화에서 이들 지표들 중 중요한 것을 선정하여 통합적 지표로 사용해야 할 것을 제안하였다.

This research were aimed to verify possible transferring regional development's value into festival contents. It was widely known that Korean festival's theme has been relatively pale in comparing its abundancy, which were required variety of festival contents. Luckily, local residents in Cittaslow frequently host slow-themed festivals, not only to revitalize their communities but also to serve the visitors. Those phenomenon shed the light to study the culture tourism interpreters' role as the presenter of regional development value to visitors at festival setting. Total 180 of questionnaires were administered to Gimsatgat festival visitors, verifying the relationship of variables, interpreters' role, perception of festival theme, revisit intention and practice intention. Regression analysis revealed that significantly influential relations between variables. Successful interpreters will support visitors' understanding of Cittaslow value, satisfaction and practice in daily life. Theoretical /practical significances and research limitation were included.

This study is a descriptive research to analyze psychosocial factors affecting health behavior adherence among community-dwelling older adults undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention. Data were collected with structured questionnaires from 126 patients discharged after hospitalization from a university hospital in J city, Gyeongnam, from July 15 to October 2 in 2018, and analyzed using SPSS/WIN 21.0. The result shows that the general characteristics, such as existence of spouse, education level, subjective health status, and subjective life satisfaction, have a significant influence on health behavior adherence. The research also identifies that medical support and resilience are positively correlated with health behavior adherence. In contrast, perceived stress, 3 sub-categories from perceived stress such as, family relations, anxiety and withdrawal, poverty and finance, and depression are negatively correlated. In the multiple regression analysis, resilience, perceived stress from poverty and finance, education level, and subjective life satisfaction explained 27.9% of health behavior adherence among older adults undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop and apply a nursing intervention program to improve the health behavior adherence of local older adults who had Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.

The villainous characters of the Marquis de Sade do not regard pity and consternation that one usually feels at the sight of poor people as natural. Such feelings are simply rejected. Therefore, Sade's characters immediately suggest that the hospitals established by religious congregations under the Ancien Regime should disappear. However, it is important to note that enlightened thinkers are aware of the abuses caused by hospitals at that time, claiming that they are to be blamed for the worsening situation of the poor. Thus, the General Assembly of the Constituents tried to nationalize the possessions of the hospitals, going as far as abolishing every charity institution. This article aims at linking Sade's hatred for hospitals to the issues his contemporaries raise about charity institutions. More particularly, revolutionary thinkers want to replace the considerably rich hospitals with small hospices or domiciliary care. Such actions will help reduce national budget spending and simplify the administrative procedures. Sade's libertines view poverty issues in the society from different perspectives: philosophical, political and economic. Let us not forget that they insist on social assistance systems which would suit both the ideals and the circumstances of the new Republic. We understand that Sade took precautions against the impending return of religion and monarchy, which were expelled by the Revolution. Under the Ancien Regime, people tolerated hospitals on the pretext that they arouse natural feelings such as beneficence and compassion. Well, to say the least, Sade is not wrong in raising awareness on this issue.

This study is primarily to investigate the alienation process that constitutes the regional identity of the border region in Kyunggi Province. It both discusses the concept of social exclusion and its application for a theoretical framework and examines patterns and formation of the alienation process based on the field survey. The empirical results show that the alienation process which defines the border region as a geography of place poverty and exclusion has been deepened through economic, social, cultural and spatial processes. In terms of material well-being and social participation, especially, the alienation is shown to form in every aspect of people's lives in the border region. The alienation gives rise to the cultural stigmatization which first builds up negative images of the region and then aggravates region's development potential as well as its future prospect. In addition, the alienation in the context of the border region turns out to be unique compared to major characteristics of other backward regions as well as quite spatially differentiated across the border region in Kyunggi Province.
