  • Expectations for wireless communication technology are rising as a base technology that promotes innovation in various industries in line with the paradigm of digital transformation in the 21st century beyond the stage of being used only for communication service itself. In this study, in order to compare 6G technological competitiveness between Korea and leading countries, technological competitiveness was confirmed through PFS, CPP, and network analysis based on GaN Integrated Circuit patent data. Korea's 6G technological competitiveness was 0.62 in PFS and 3.93 in CPP, which were 32.8% and 19.9%, respectively, compared to leading countries. In addition, as a result of network analysis, the collaboration rate in the 6G field was 7.2%, and the collaboration ecosystem was very insufficient in most countries. In contrast, it was confirmed that Korea, unlike leading countries, has established a small-scale collaboration ecosystem linked by industry and academia. Thus, it is necessary to establish a strategy for 6G communication technology at the national level so that communication technology can be advanced based on a relatively well-established collaborative ecosystem.

  • As the dependence of technology on the economic structure increases, the importance of National Core Technology is increasing. However, due to the nature of the technology itself, it is difficult to determine the scope of the technology to be protected because the scope of the relation is abstract and information disclosure is limited due to the nature of the National Core Technology. To solve this problem, we propose the most appropriate literature type and method of analysis to distinguish important technologies related to National Core Technology. We conducted a pilot test to apply TF-IDF, and LDA topic modeling, two techniques of text mining analysis for big data analysis, to four types of literature (news, papers, reports, patents) collected with National Core Technology keywords in the field of Display industry. As a result, applying LDA theme modeling to patent data are highly relevant to National Core Technology. Important technologies related to the front and rear industries of displays, including OLEDs and microLEDs, were identified, and the results were visualized as networks to clarify the scope of important technologies associated with National Core Technology. Throughout this study, we have clarified the ambiguity of the scope of association of technologies and overcome the limited information disclosure characteristics of national core technologies.

  • In this study, we propose a novel approach to analyze big data related to patents in the field of smart factories, utilizing the Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) topic modeling method and the generative artificial intelligence technology, ChatGPT. Our method includes extracting valuable insights from a large data-set of associated patents using LDA to identify latent topics and their corresponding patent documents. Additionally, we validate the suitability of the topics generated using generative AI technology and review the results with domain experts. We also employ the powerful big data analysis tool, KNIME, to preprocess and visualize the patent data, facilitating a better understanding of the global patent landscape and enabling a comparative analysis with the domestic patent environment. In order to explore quantitative and qualitative comparative advantages at this juncture, we have selected six indicators for conducting a quantitative analysis. Consequently, our approach allows us to explore the distinctive characteristics and investment directions of individual countries in the context of research and development and commercialization, based on a global-scale patent analysis in the field of smart factories. We anticipate that our findings, based on the analysis of global patent data in the field of smart factories, will serve as vital guidance for determining individual countries' directions in research and development investment. Furthermore, we propose a novel utilization of GhatGPT as a tool for validating the suitability of selected topics for policy makers who must choose topics across various scientific and technological domains.
