  • 타이어코드는 복합재료의 원조라고도 불리는 타이어의 적절한 보강용 재료로 복합재료용 섬유의 선구자라고 할 수 있다. 1888년 Du Pont에서 공기를 넣는 타이어를 만든 이후 타이어코드는 마, 면, 레이온, 나일론, 스틸, 폴리에스테르, 글라스, 아라미드 등과 같은 새로운 소재가 계속적으로 개발되어 타이어의 고기능화와 함께 타이어코드의 고기능화도 이루어져 왔다[1]. 이러한 타이어 코드 소재로는 현재 여러 가지가 있으나, High Modulus Low Shrinkage (HMLS) 타입의 PET 타이어코드는 다른 소재에 비해 가격이 안정적이고, 강도가 탄성률이 우수하며 특희 나일론에 비하여 초기 탄성계수 및 치수 안정성이 우수하여 평탄점(flot spot)현상도 적기 때문에 레이온을 대신하여 승합차용으로 사용량이 계속 증가되고 있다[2]. Galloping Algorithm of Quadruped Robots on Irregular Surface (비평탄면에서의 4 족 로봇의 갤로핑 알고리즘)

  • In This paper proposes the control algorithm for quadruped robots on irregularly sloped uneven surface. Body balance is important in stable running locomotion. Since the body balance is determined by the forces applied at the feet during touchdown phase, the ground reaction force is controlled for stable running. To control the forces at each foot, the desired force is generated. The generated desired force is compared with actual contact force, then, the difference between them modifies the foot trajectory. The desired force is generated by combination of the rate change of the angular and linear momentum at flight. Then the rate change of momentum determines each force distribution. The distribution of the force is carried out by fuzzy logic. The computer simulation is carried out with the commercial software RecurDyn$^{(R)}$. Dynamic model simulation program show that the stable running on the irregularly sloped uneven surface are accomplished by the proposed method.

Effect of an Acrylic Plate and SSD on Dose Profile and Depth Dose Distribution of 9 MeV Electron Beams (에너지 저하체로서 아크릴과 SSD 가 9MeV 전자선의 측방 및 깊이선량분포에 미치는 효과)

  • The aims are to evaluate the effects of an 1.0 cm acrylic plate and SSD on the dose profile and depth dose distribution of 9 MeV electron beam and to analyse adequacy for using an acrylic plate to reduce energy of electron beams. An acrylic plate of 1.0 cm thickness was used to reduce energy of 9 MeV electron beam to 7 MeV. The plate was put on an electron applicator at 65.4 cm distance from x-ray target. The size of the applicator was 10${\times}$l0cm at 100 cm SSD. For 100cm, l05cm and 110cm SSD, depth dose on beam axis and dose profiles at d$\_$max/ on two principal axes were measured using a 3D water phantom. From depth dose distributions, d$\_$max/, d$\_$85/, d$\_$50/ and R$\_$p/, surface dose, and mean energy and peak energy at surface were compared. From dose profiles flatness, penumbra width and actual field size were compared. For comparison, 9 MeV electron beams were measured. Surface dose of 7 MeV electron beams was changed from 85.5% to 82.2% increasing SSD from 100 cm to 110 cm, and except for dose buildup region, depth dose distributions were independent of SSD. Flatness of 7 MeV ranged from 4.7% to 10.4% increasing SSD, comparing 1.4% to 3.5% for 9 MeV. Penumbra width of 7 MeV ranged from 1.52 cm to 3.03 cm, comparing 1.14 cm to 1.63 cm for 9 MeV. Actual field size increased from 10.75 cm to 12.85 cm with SSD, comparing 10.32 cm to 11.46 cm for 9 MeV. Virtual SSD's of 7 and 9 MeV were respectively 49.8 cm and 88.5cm. In using energy reducer in electron therapy, depth dose distribution were independent of SSD except for buildup region as well as open field. In case of using energy reducer, increasing SSD made flatness to deteriorate more severely, penumbra width more wide, field size to increase more rapidly and virtual SSD more short comparing with original electron beam. In conclusion, it is desirable to use no energy reducer for electron beam, especially for long SSD.

다성분계 $TiO_2$-ITO 투명 전극의 고효율 인광 유기발광 다이오드 특성평가 연구

  • 연구에서는 co-sputtering 시스템을 이용하여 아나타세 $TiO_2$의 도핑 농도 변화에 따른 다성분계 $TiO_2$-ITO (TITO) 박막의 전기적, 광학적, 구조적 특성 변화를 알아보고 고 효율을 가지는 인광 유기발광 다이오드를 제작 하였다. 상온에서 최적화된 다성분계 TITO 투명 전극의 급속 열처리 시 $600^{\circ}C$ 급속 열처리 조건에서 매우 낮은 18.06 ohm/sq.면저항, $5.1{\times}10^{-4}$ ohm-cm 비저항과 가시광선 영역 400~550 nm 에서 87.96 %이상의 높은 광학적 투과율과 4.71 eV의 일함수를 확보할 수 있었다. 또한TITO 박막을 양극으로 하여 OLED 소자를 제작한 후 그 성능을 평가하였다. 기존의 ITO 전극과 비교하면 다성분계 TITO 인광 유기 발광 다이오드의 quantum efficiencies (21.69 %)와 power efficiencies (90.92 lm/W)로 ITO 투명전극과 매우 유사함을 알 수 있었고 아나타세 $TiO_2$가 도핑된 TITO 투명 전극의 급속 열처리 공정에도 불구하고 매우 평탄한 표면을 나타냄을 SEM 이미지를 통하여 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 TITO 투명 전극의 우수한 전기적, 광학적, 구조적 특성은 indium saving 투명 전극으로써 고가의 ITO 박막의 대치가능성을 나타낸다.

An Edge Directed Color Demosaicing Algorithm Considering Color Channel Correlation (컬러 채널 상관관계를 고려한 에지 방향성 컬러 디모자이킹 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose an edge directed color demosaicing algorithm considering color channel correlation. The proposed method consists of local region classification step and edge directional interpolation step. In the first step, each region of a given Bayer image is classified as normal edge, pattern edge, and flat regions by using intra channel and inter channel gradients. Especially, two criteria and verification process for the normal edge and pattern edge classification are used to reduce edge direction estimation error, respectively. In the second step, edge directional interpolation process is performed according to characteristics of the classified regions. For horizontal and vertical directional interpolations, missing color components are obtained from interpolation equations based on intra channel and inter channel correlations in order to improve the performance of the directional interpolations. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms conventional approaches in both objective and subjective terms.

  • In this paper, we present a color interpolation algorithm that uses novel edge direction estimator and region classifier. The proposed edge direction estimator accurately determines the edge direction based on the correlation between the images obtained by the channel separated and down-sampled Bayer color filter array(CFA) pattern. The correlation is defined based on the similarity between the edge direction in the local region of the image and the shifting direction of the images. Also, the region of an image is defined as the flat, the edge, and the pattern-edge regions, where the edges are appeared repeatedly. When all the pixels in the image are classified into the three different regions, each pixel is interpolated horizontally or vertically according to the estimated direction. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional edge-directed methods on objective and subjective criteria.

Development of an Intelligent Hexapod Walking Robot (지능형 6족 보행 로봇의 개발)

  • Hexapod walking robots are superior to biped or quadruped ones in terms of walking stability. Therefore hexapod robots have the advantage in performing intelligent tasks based on walking stability. In this paper, we propose a hexapod robot that has one fore leg, one hind leg, two left legs, and two right legs and can perform various intelligent tasks. We build the robot by using 26 motors and implement a controller which consists of a host PC, a DSP main controller, an AVR auxiliary controller, and smart phone/pad. We show by several experiments that the implemented robot can perform various intelligent tasks such as uneven surface walking, tracking and kicking a ball, remote control and 3D monitoring by using data obtained from stereo camera, infrared sensors, ultra sound sensors, and contact sensors.

CALCULATION OF THE HEIGHTS OF STORM SURGES OF THE COAST SEA AREA OF JEJU ISLAND (제주도 연안해역의 폭풍해일고 산정)

  • 제주도 연악해역의 해일재해의 현황을 파악하기 위하여 제주도 연안해역의 폭풍해일과 기상조에 등에 의한 해일발생 및 피해의 자료를 분석 검토하고 제주도 연안해일의 위험도를 분석하기 위하여 제주도 연안해역을 대상으로 과거 태풍 중 각종 기록경신과 많은 피해규모를 준 태풍들을 대상으로 바람장 및 해일고를 분석 검토하여 태풍의 진로에 따른 해수면 상승을 산정하기위해 폭풍해일 수치모형(POM) 실험을 실시하여 폭풍해일고를 산정하였다. 제주항과 서귀포항 주변해역의 폭풍해일고를 산출하기 위해 16년간($1987{\sim}2003$)까지의 우리나라에 영향을 미친 태풍 중 8개를 선정(Maemi, Rusa, Prapiroon, Olga, Yanni, Janis, Gladys, Thelma)하여 폭풍해일고를 산출하였다. 수치모의 한 결과를 보면, 제주와 서귀포 연안해역에서 발생한 8개의 태풍에 대한 폭풍해일고의 발생시각은 대체적으로 관측된 해일고의 발생시각 보다 약간 늦게 해일이 발생하였지만 전체적인 해일의 시간변화나 크기는 비교적 잘 재현된 것으로 나타났다. 제주항 연안해역의 서귀포항 연안해역보다 높은 해일고를 보였으며, 해일고는 제주항, 서귀포항 모두 1m를 넘지 않았다. 제주항이 서귀포항에 비해 약간 높게 나온 이유는 태풍의 위치, 지형 및 수심, 태풍이 통과할 당시의 조석상황 등의 차이인 것으로 사료된다. 또한, 제주항과 서귀포항 연안해역이 폭풍해일고가 서해안이나 남해안에 비해 작게 나타났는데, 이는 제주도 해안선이 비교적 평탄하고 평행하게 이루어 졌으며 남해안에 비해 수심이 깊고 만의 형태나 V자형 및 긴내만이 발달한 지형이 없기 때문인 것으로 사료된다. 보다 정밀한 예측을 위해서는 정밀한 수심자료 및 격자를 이용한 계산의 결과가 필요하며, 연안개발로 인한 지형과 수심변화에 따른 지속적인 수치해도 DB구축이 요구된다.

Image Enhancement Algorithm using Dynamic Range Optimization (다이나믹 레인지 최적화를 통한 영상 화질 개선 알고리즘)

  • The images captured by digital still cameras or mobile phones are not always satisfactory because the devices have limited dynamic ranges compared with that of the real world. To cope with the problems, tone mapping function based methods and retinex theory based methods are studied. However, these methods generate a halo artifact or limited enhancement of global and local contrasts. The proposed method estimates illumination information used for image enhancement by optimizing a dynamic range of input image. The estimated illumination information has smoothness characteristic where the luminance is flat and does not have where the luminance changes to prevent the halo artifact. Additionally, the estimated illumination information and surrounding pixel values are considered when the tone mapping function is applied to overcome the limitations of the conventional tone mapping function approach. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the conventional methods on objective and subjective criteria.

Fabrication and characterization of 1.55$\mu$m SI-PBH DFB-LD for 10 Gbps optical fiber communications (10 Gb/s 급 광통신용 1.55$\mu$m SI-PBH DFB-LD의 제작 및 특성연구)

  • We fabricated the high speed 1.55${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ distributed feedback laser diodes (DFB-LD) using both two-step mesa etching process and semi-insulating InP current blocking layers. The devices characteristics were threshold current of ~15mA, slope efficiency of ~0.13mW/mA, and dynamic resistance of ~6.0Ω, with as-cleaved facets. The fabricated DFB-LD showed the single longitudinal mode with more than 40dB up to 6 $I_{th}$(CW condition), emitting at the wavelength of 0.546${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. The -3dB bandwidth was >10㎓ at the driving current of 27mA, and the maximum -3dB bandwidth was ~18㎓ at 90 mA current, showing the superior frequency response of SI-PBH DFB-LD. In the 10Gb/s transmission experiment for 1.55${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ DFB-LD module, maximum 10 km of single mode fiber(SMF) or 80 km of dispersion shifted fiber (DSF) could be transmitted with error free.
