Balanced Transmit Scheme in Decode-and-Forward Cooperative Relay Communication (Decode-and-Forward 협력 릴레이 통신에서의 Balanced 전송 기법)

  • Cooperative relay communication for wireless networks has been extensively studied due to its ability to mitigate fading effectively via spatial diversity. In this paper, we propose a balanced transmit scheme in cooperative relay communication with decode-and-forward DF) scheme. The proposed scheme selects the feedback bits to obtain the maximum cooperative diversity gain. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the bit error rate BER) performance as compare with a conventional scheme.

  • 이 논문은 시간도약 다중접속(time hopping multiple access: THMA) 초광대역(ultra wideband: UWB) 시스템에서 Modified Hermite Polynomial(MHP)을 기저펄스로 사용하는 M진 고속전송 기법을 제안하고, 시스템의 성능을 분석한다. MHP 펄스 차수들의 상호간 직교성을 이용하여 서로 다른 차수의 MHP 기저펄스 N개를 선형결합하여 M진으로 전송한다. MHP 기저펄스의 상호상관 함수를 구하여 제안하는 M진 시스템의 이론적인 성능을 분석하고, 모의실험을 통해서 기존의 M진 전송에 비해서 시스템의 비트오류확률(bit error rate: BER)이 개선됨을 보인다.

  • Recently, there a lot of activities on the researches that implement many kinds of control system using power lines. To implement that, it is desirable to use hybrid PSK model because it takes advantage of PSK and DPSK which has a low-bit-error rate. In this parer, we implement the transmitter of this model. Because the power line is not designed for the data communication, we separated the signal generator circuit and the signal loading circuit so that minimized noises from outside. Also, to make it easy on the experiments, most of process are performed by software. As a result, transmitting a high frequency signal on the power line made no effects on the electrical devices.

Implementation of UEP using Turbo Codes and EREC Algorithm for Video Transmission (동영상 전송을 위하여 터보코드와 EREC알고리즘을 이용한 UEP설계)

  • In this paper, bitstreams are composed of using H.263 for a moving picture coding in the band-limited and error-prone environment such as wireless environment. EREC sub-frames are implemented by applying the proposed EREC algorithm in order to be UEP for the real data parts of implemented bitstreams. Because those are able to do resynchronization with a block unit, propagation of the error can be minimized, and the position of the important bits such as INTRADC and MVD can be known. Class is separated using the position of these important bits, and variable puncturing tables are designed by the class informations and the code rates of turbo codes are differently designed in according to the class. Channel coding used the turbo codes, and an interleaver to be designed in the turbo codes does not eliminate redundancy bits of the important bits in applying variable code rates of EREC sub-frames unit and is always the same at the transmitter and the receiver although being variable frame size. As a result of simulation, UEP with the code rate similar to EEP is obtained a improved result in the side of bit error probability. And the result of applying it to image knows that the subjective and objective quality have been improved by the protection of important bits.

Performance of the Asymmetric Turbo Codes for Wireless ATM Transmission (비대칭 터보 코드를 이용한 무선 ATM셀 전송의 성능 분석)

  • 본 논문에서는 비대칭 터보부호를 사용 무선 ATM환경에서 ATM셀을 전송할 때 비트 오류확률, 셀 손실확률을 대칭 터보부호와 비교하였다. 일반적으로 터보부호기는 동일한 재귀 컨벌루션코드(Resursive Systematic Convolution Code)로 구성된다. 비대칭 터보부호와 대칭적 터보부호를 비교하기 위한 생성다항식을 Primitive Polynomial과 Non-Primitive Polynomial 의 4가지 조합을 고려하여 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다. Feedback 다항식이 Primitive 다항식인 사용된 터보부호기가 Non-Primitive다항식이 사용된 터보부호기와 비교하여 1.2dB이상 성능 향상을 보였고, Primitive Polynomial과 Non-Primitive Polynomial이 같이 사용된 비대칭 터보부호기는 Non-Primitive Polynomial이 사용된 대칭 터보부호기와 비교하여 0.7dB 성능 향상을 보였다.

Analysis on the error performance objective for turbo codes in the DVB-RCS system (DVB-RCS 시스템에서 터보 부호의 오류성능 목표 분석)

  • Digital satellite communication systems are usually integrated with terrestrial systems to provide various services. In these cases, they should satisfy the performance objectives defined by the terrestrial systems. Recommendation ITU-R S.1062 specifies the error performance objectives of digital satellite communication systems operating below 15 GHz. The error performance are given in terms of bit error probability divided by the number of the average bit errors in the burst ($\alpha$). This paper presents a theoretical method to estimate $\alpha$ that is a very important parameter in the satellite communication systems to analyze the error performance objectives. We show performance estimation result of DVB-RCS turbo code using the presented method, and verify them by comparing to the simulation results.

  • In this paper, we analyzed the performance of FH/CPFSK system with differential detection in thermal noise, partial-band jamming noise and adjacent interference of all eight bit pattern. The parameters to analize performances of FH/CPFSK system have been used the bit rate, modulation index and performances of FH/CPFSK system with the differential detector have been presented with the optimum correlation function. And, we were compared with performance of FH/CPFSK and FH/BFSK system. In result, we could know that bit error probability of the approximation equation and exact equation nearly accorded in the high signal-to-noise ratio. And, we have been proved that FH/CPFSK system with differential detection according to jamming fraction ${\gamma}$ was worst to 3dB than FH/CPFSK system with limiter-discriminator. but was superior to 2dB than FH/BFSK.

  • Among the various zero suppression (ZS) algorithms used in a for synchronous stream cipher system, a ZS-2 exhibits certain good properties, including the omission of the block synchronization, easy implementation, etc., yet also a weakness in channel error propagation. Accordingly, This paper proposes a new method by minimizing the bit-wide substitution in the substitution blocks of ZS-2 to improve the degenerated error property in a noisy channel. As a result, the proposed ZS-3 algorithm can decrease the mean error propagation by about 18.7% over that of ZS-2 at n=8.

Performances of wireless ATM cell transmission with partial concatenated coding (무선 ATM셀 전송을 위한 부분 연쇄 부호화 기법의 성능분석)

  • In this paper, the performances of wireless asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) cell transmission in mobile work are analyzed. We adopt 16Star QAM as amodulation technique in wireless channel and considered Reed-Solomon, convolutional, and concatenated coding to improve the error rate performances, and also proposed the Partial Concatenated Coding (PCC) technique as UEP(unequal error protection) code for efficient transmission of ATM cell in the air interface. We consider Doppler's effect, Rician fading, and diversity technique of maximal-ratio combining (MRC) for mobile channel model. For performance measure, we analyze bit error rate, ATM cell loss probability, ATM cell error probability, and network performances of ATM cell transmission delay and throughput. The numerical results show that the adoption of PCC is a prospective way for the evolution of future wireless ATM network on mobile environment.

  • For high-speed data communication in band-limited channels, main of the bit error are fading and ISI(Inter-Symbol Interference). The common way of dealing with ISI is using equalization in the receiver. In this thesis, channel adaptive equalizer which uses Fuzzy Stochastic Gradient(FSG) and Constant Modulus Algorithm(CMA) is nonlinear equalizer, or Blind equalizer, that works directly on the signals with no training sequences required. This equalizer employs Takagi-Sugeno's fuzzy model that uses the FSG algorithm, to automatically regulate the step size of the descent gradient vector, combining fast convergence rate and low mean square error(MSE), and the CMA which is a special case of Godard's algorithm, to having multiple dispersion constants($R_p$).
