Designing an Intelligent Data Coding Curriculum for Non-Software Majors: Centered on the EZMKER Kit as an Educational Resource (SW 비전공자 대상으로 지능형 데이터 코딩 교육과정 설계 : EZMKER kit교구 중심으로)

  • In universities, programming language-based thinking and software education for non-majors are being implemented to cultivate creative and convergent talent capable of leading the digital convergence era in line with the Fourth Industrial Revolution. However, learners face difficulties in acquiring the unfamiliar syntax and programming languages. The purpose of this study is to propose a software education model to alleviate the challenges faced by non-major students during the learning process. By introducing algorithm techniques and diagram techniques based on programming language thinking and using the EZMKER kit as an instructional model, this study aims to overcome the lack of learning about programming languages and syntax. Consequently, a structured software education model has been designed and implemented as a top-down system learning model.

  • Currently, advanced countries are absorbed in vision research related to 'Technology Convergence', which is a 21 century Megatrend. They establish Technology Convergence strategy based on information and communication technology (ICT), and vision research that utilizes the scenario method is actively progressing. In this paper, scenario-based vision research case study using WWRF (Wireless World Research Forum), AmI (Ambient Intelligence), and mITF (mobile IT Forum) is conducted. The proposed 'engineering scenario method' is based on the case study results. Therefore, a future strategy study using the proposed scenario-based method is analyzed. The 'engineering scenario method' can provide a new direction in vision strategy research.

Learning Similarity between Hand-posture and Structure for View-invariant Hand-posture Recognition (관측 시점에 강인한 손 모양 인식을 위한 손 모양과 손 구조 사이의 학습 기반 유사도 결정 방법)

  • This paper deals with a similarity decision method between the shape of hand-postures and their structures to improve performance of the vision-based hand-posture recognition system. Hand-posture recognition by vision sensors has difficulties since the human hand is an object with high degrees of freedom, and hence grabbed images present complex self-occlusion effects and, even for one hand-posture, various appearances according to viewing directions. Therefore many approaches limit the relative angle between cameras and hands or use multiple cameras. The former approach, however, restricts user's operation area. The latter requires additional considerations on the way of merging the results from each camera image to get the final recognition result. To recognize hand-postures, we use both of appearance and structural features and decide the similarity between the two types of features by learning.

  • Today, with the improvement of deep learning technology, computer vision areas such as image classification, object detection, object segmentation, and object tracking have shown remarkable improvements. Various applications such as intelligent surveillance, robots, Internet of Things, and autonomous vehicles in combination with deep learning technology are being applied to actual industries. Accordingly, the requirement of an efficient compression method for video data is necessary for machine consumption as well as for human consumption. In this paper, we propose an object-based compression of thermal infrared images for machine vision. The input image is divided into object and background parts based on the object detection results to achieve efficient image compression and high neural network performance. The separated images are encoded in different compression ratios. The experimental result shows that the proposed method has superior compression efficiency with a maximum BD-rate value of -19.83% to the whole image compression done with VVC.

  • 본 논문은 입력되는 영상에서 특정 객체를 찾기 위하여 특징 검출 및 매칭 결과를 분석하여 기술한다. 영상의 특징을 추출하는 방법 중 코너를 특징으로 하는 방법인 해리스 코너 검출(Harris corner detection)을 이용하여 코너를 추출하였으며, 추출한 특징을 이용하여 다양한 크기의 템플릿을 만들어 입력된 영상과 상관계수를 구해 최대값을 가지는 위치를 찾아 입력된 영상과 객체를 매칭 시킨 결과를 분석하였다. 본 논문의 연구 결과들은 객체의 탐지 등과 같은 영상 분석 기반 기술에 활용될 수 있으리라 기대된다.

  • As software and artificial intelligence education became more and more important, in December 2019, the Ministry of Science and ICT announced plans to expand software and AI education to mandatory education in elementary and secondary schools by 2022. In addition to elementary and secondary schools, most universities are actively engaged in software education for computer non-majors, but research on coding education for computer non-majors is insufficient. The purpose of this paper is to find an efficient teaching and learning method for coding education for computer non-majors. Nowadays, college students, called Millennial and Generation Z, prefer visual information and are familiar with computers as digital natives. Based on these characteristics, this study examined the visual literacy and thinking styles of college students and then examined whether the students' visual literacy and thinking styles influenced coding-based problem solving in coding subjects. Based on this, this paper proposes an alternative to do programming education more efficiently for students who are new to coding.

  • The successful practicum should be based on the systematic supervision and the supervision will be provided by the cooperation and liason between school and field. This study intended to explore the perception of faculty field liasons about the contents of supervision. As a result of using the Q methodology, the percetion on supervison was categorized into three types : "focusing on attitude and mind of social worker", "focusing on knowledge and self-awareness" and "focusing on practice skills for intervention". According to these results, discussions and implications for social work education and practice were suggested.

  • 본 논문은 대용량의 한글어 말뭉치를 이용하여 언어학적 통계정보를 자동으로 검색할 수 있는 웹기반 언어정보 검색 시스템을 제안하고 구현하였다. 구현한 시스템을 통해 형태소, 품사, 어절 정보를 자동으로 획득할 수 있었다. 본 시스템은 언어학적 지식이 부족한 비전문가도 말뭉치 검색을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있으며, 웹기반으로 구현되었기 때문에 시스템 접근의 용의성에 의의가 있다.

  • 최근 지식경제부는 스마트그리드 구축을 통한 저탄소 녹색성장 기반 조성이라는 비전을 가지고, 국가단위 스마트그리드 구축을 위한 지능형 전력망, 소비자, 수송, 신재생, 서비스 등 5대 분야에 대한 로드맵을 포함하는 스마트그리드 국가로드맵을 확정했다. 이러한 스마트그리드의 국가적 비전을 공유하고 스마트그리드의 성공적 구축 및 정착을 위해 통신 사업자로서 KT에서는 기 보유된 통신인프라와 핵심 ICT 기술 역량을 활용하여 KT 스마트그리드 사업을 준비하고 있다. 본 고에서는 스마트그리드와 홈네트워크 동향을 살펴보고 KT의 스마트그리드 홈 서비스에 대해 소개하고자 한다.
