Nonlinear Observer Design for Dynamic Positioning Control of a Surface Vessel (선박운동제어를 위한 비선형 관측기 설계)

  • 본 논문에서는 항내에서 저속으로 운동(항해)하는 선박의 운동제어문제에 대해 고려하고 있다. 항내에서는 특히 그 운동속도가 느리므로 일반 항해에서와는 달이 저주파대역에서의 운동특성이 중요하다. 대부분의 중대형선박이 항내에서 터그보트에 의해 접안시설로 이동하게 된다. 이러한 사실을 고려하여 대상선박이 4기의 터그보트에 의해 제어되는 선박의 제어계 설계문제에 대해 고찰하고 있다. 주요 연구내용은 크게 두가지로 구분된다. 첫째 비선형특성이 강하게 포함되어있는 선박운동특성을 고려하여 비선형관측기를 설계한다. 이것은 특히 저주파수 대역에서 선박의 위치와 속도 등 제어신호를 계산하는데 필요한 정보를 추정하는데 유효한 방법으로 잘 알려져 있다. 이를 기반으로 외란 등에 강인한 슬라이딩모드 제어기를 설계한다. 결과적으로 비선형관측기를 포함한 슬라이딩모드제어기의 유용성을 시뮬레이션을 통해 검증하였으며 이 결과는 실험을 위한 유용한 기초자료로 활용될 것이다.

An Unsteady Numerical Method of Autorotation and the Effect of 2D Aerodynamic Coefficients (자동회전의 비정상 수치해법과 2차원 공력계수의 영향)

  • An unsteady numerical simulation method for an autorotating rotor in forward flight was developed. The flapping and rotational equations of motion of autorotation are continuously integrated for given time steps, meanwhile the induced velocity field at disc plane is obtained by the dynamic inflow theory embodying the unteadiness. The transitions from arbitrary initial states to equilibrium states were simulated. Steady autorotations as numerical solutions of equations were predicted by using two sources of blade airfoil data. The simulations using airfoil data which were obtained by a two dimensional Navier-Stokes solver in terms of angles of attack and Reynolds numbers have shown good agreements with wind tunnel experimental results.

Design of Velocity and Pressure Compounded Impulse Turbine (속도 및 압력 복합형 충동 터빈 설계)

  • Design of velocity-compounded turbine for 75ton class LRE turbopump application and pressure compounded turbine for 30ton class LRE turbopump has been performed. 1D calculation and CFD analysis were conducted in determining blade and flow passage shape of velocity compounded turbine iteratively. Finally, 23.1% improved specific power and 5% reduced weight turbine to the original design was developed. In case of pressure-compounded supersonic turbine design, rotational speed was increased by 50% and the effect of carryover ratio, 2nd nozzle installation angle, leakage flow of 2nd nozzle, and work sharing factor was studied. Final 1D design resulted 36% increased specific power and 51% reduced weight comparing to the original single-row impulse turbine. It is anticipated that nozzle flow path design will be very important for the accomplishment of expected performance of pressure-compounded turbine and nozzle shape optimization will be conducted through the CFD analysis.

A Convergent Study on Flow at Rotor of Washing Machine (세탁기 내부의 회전날개에서의 유동에 관한 융합 연구)

  • The flow analyses in this study were executed on the three washing machine models with the rotors like real shapes. On the pressures and speeds for the left, right and bottom planes of rotors, model C was generally found to have the greatest pressure on the flow, more than twice as much as model A, and in order of model B and model A. At the streamline velocities of flow on the side of the rotating blades of models A, B and C, model C had the greatest rate of flow overall, which was 1.7 times higher than model A, followed by model B and model A. In case of model C, the number of blades is smaller than model A or model B, but the thickness of lower rotor becomes thicker. It can be seen that model C improves the washing performance due to the high flow pressure and high flow rate. Also, it is seen that this study is adequate at the efficient design with durability of the washing machine rotor practically and the aesthetic convergence of the rotor.

Changes of Isoflavone Distribution in Soybeans Using Almond Powder (아몬드 첨가에 의한 대두의 이소플라본 특성 변화 연구)

  • The isoflavone distributions of soy samples treated with soaking, oven-drying, and almond additions were determined by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Oven-drying was performed to increase the amount of ${\beta}-glucoside$ isoflavones, and almonds were added to convert the ${\beta}-glucosides$ into their corresponding aglycones. Oven-drying at $100^{\circ}C$ for 4 hr significantly increased ${\beta}-glucoside$ levels and decreased $malonyl-{\beta}-glucosides$, while almond additions of 2.5% and 5.0% (w/w) significantly increased aglycone contents (p<0.05) for samples with 12 hr of drying. The rate of increase for genistein from genistin was faster than that of daidzein from daidzin with almond additions. The ${\beta}-glucosidase$ activity in the 5.0% added almond soybean samples was significantly higher than in the samples without added almond (p<0.05). The aglycone content increased from 1.62% in the raw soybeans to 61.55% in the 2.5% added almond soybean samples for 12 hr of incubation. The information from this study could be used to increase the isoflavone aglycone contents of soybeans by using natural products such as almonds, without organic solvent additions or microorganism fermentation.

  • Performance of the mobile devices greatly depends on the efficient resource management because they are usually resource-restricted. In particular, the dynamic storage allocation algorithms very important part of the mobile device's operating system and OS-like software platform. The existing dynamic storage allocation algorithms did not consider application's execution style and the type, life-time, and characteristics of memory objects that the application uses. Those algorithms, as a result, could not manage memory efficiently Therefore, this Paper analyzes the mobile application's execution characteristics and proposes anew dynamic storage allocation algorithm which saves the memory space and improves mobile application's execution speed. The test result shows that the proposed algorithm works 6.5 times faster than the linked-list algorithm[11], 2.5 times faster better than the Doug. Lea's algorithm[12] and 10.5 times faster than the Brent algorithm[14].

  • This study reveals the longitudinal vibration mechanism of tendon embedded in a prestressed concrete. The extensional and torsional displacements of the strand are coupled, and the applied prestress level of tendon affects not only axial rigidity but also torsional rigidity. Measuring the elastic wave velocity of tendon, the applied prestress level of tendon could be evaluated. This is because the elastic wave velocity is a function of extensional and torsional rigidity. Using the experimental results for the six prsteressed concrete beams with different prestress levels, the longitudinal vibration mechanism and the effect of prestress level have been examined. To estimate the system ridigities of tendon, a system identification algorithm has been newly developed. The estimated system rigidities have been compared with the available results of related previous study.

Kinetics of Anaerobic Digestion: A Comparative Study on Mesophilic and Thermophilic Anaerobic Digestion (혐기성소화(嫌氣性消化)의 동력학(動力學) : 중온(中溫) 및 고온혐기성소화(高溫嫌氣性消化)의 비교연구(比較研究))

  • Comprehensive laboratory experiments including digestion failures were conducted to identify differences between mesophilic and thermophilic digestion. Critical HRT was found to be near 10days for mesophilic and near 5days for thermophilic digestion. Inhibition occurred rapidly when operated below critical HRT. However, inhibition at mesophilic condition was much greater than that at thermophilic condition. Although digester performances were similar above critical HRT of mesophilic digestion, thermophilic digestion was considerably advantageous below this HRT. Thermophilic digestion produced smaller amount of sludges which had significantly higher settling velocity and lower specific resistance. Reaction rates also clearly demonstrated temperature and HRT effects on digestion. It was also found that gas production rates increased linearly with increasing reaction rates regardless of temperature and their relationships were almost identical at mesophilic and thermophilic temperature.

Combustion Performance Results of Combustion Chamber for 30ton-f Class Liquid Rocket Engine (30톤급 액체로켓엔진 연소기 연소시험 성능결과)

  • The overall results of combustion tests performed for a 30 tonf-class full-scale combustion chambers of a liquid rocket engine were described. The combustion chambers have chamber pressure of 53${\sim}$60 bar and propellant mass flow rate of 89 kg/so The combustion chamber is composed of mixing head, SUS baffle, baffle injector, ablative chamber, channel cooling chamber and regenerative cooling chamber. The test results show that the combustion characteristic velocity is in the range of 1673${\sim}$1730 m/sec and the specific impulse of the combustion chamber is in the range of 254${\sim}$263 sec. As the recess number of the injectors increases, the combustion characteristic velocity increases. And as the combustion characteristic velocity increases, the specific impulse of the combustion chamber also increases.

Response of Torque Controller for a MW Wind Turbine under Turbulence Wind Speed (난류 풍속에 대한 MW급 풍력발전기의 토크 제어기 응답)

  • The main objective of a torque controller below rated wind speed is to extract maximum power from the potential wind energy. To do this, the torque control method, which adjusts the torque magnitude and makes it proportional to the square of the generator speed, has been applied. However, this method makes the response slower as the wind turbines are getting larger in size with multi-MW capacities. In this paper, a torque control method that uses the nonlinear parameter of rotor speed for aerodynamic torque as a control gain is discussed to improve the response by adjusting an additional torque magnitude. The nonlinear parameter of the rotor speed could be calculated both online and offline. It is shown that the offline case is more practical and effective in producing power through the numerical simulation of a 2MW wind turbine by considering the real turbulence wind speed.
