THE EFFECTS OF CHLORHEXIDINE AND LISTERINE MOUTHRINSE WITHOUT PERIODONTAL DRESSING AFTER PERIODONTAL SURGERY (치주수술후 치주포대 비부착시 클로르헥시딘과 리스트린 구강 양치의 효과)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the effects of Chlorhexidine, Listerine and hypertonic saline mouthrinse without periodontal pack during 2 weeks following periodontal surgery. Twelve patients were treated with modified Widman flap procedures. Each fourth patients assigned to chlorhexidine mouthrinse group, Listerine mouthrinse group and control group. Each group wasn't significant difference in clinical and microbiologic parameters at preoperation. Examination regarding plaque index, gingival index, pocket depth, change of gingival color postsurgically, pain index and contrast phase microscope were performed. Evaluations were made at the first, the second and the fourth weeks postsurgically. The results were as follows: 1. Chlorhexidine mouthrinse group and Listerine mouthrinse group were significantly different in plaque index at the first, the second and the fourth weeks 2. The pocket depth of three groups were significantly reduced at the fourth weeks. 3. Chlorhexidine mouthrinse group and Listerine mouthrinse group were significantly different in change of gingival color at the first week. 4. Cocci and non-motile rods were increased at the first and the second weeks. But, motile rods and spirochete were increased at the fourth weeks.

Elastic Local Buckling of Orthotropic Open Section Compression Members with Asymmetric Edge Stiffeners (비대칭 연단보강재가 설치된 직교이방성 개방단면 압축재의 탄성국부좌굴)

  • This paper presents the results of an analytical investigation pertaining to the elastic local buckling behavior of asymmetric edge stiffened orthotropic open section structural member under uniform compression. The asymmetric edge stiffener is considered as a beam element neglecting its torsional rigidity. We suggested the analytical model of asymmetric edge stiffeners which is composed of a strip of flange plate, equal width of edge stiffener, and a plate attached at the flange end, and computed the moment of inertia of the stiffener about an axis through the centroid of the ensuing cross-section. Using the derived equation, the local buckling coefficients of asymmetrically edge stiffened orhtotropic I-section columns are predicted and the results are presented in a graphical form.

  • 제지산업에 경쟁력을 부여할 수 있는 방법의 일환으로 제지용 도공안료의 표면개질을 시도하였다 은(Ag)이 항균력이 있다는 것이 여러 사람에 의해 증명된바 있으므로 이 은의 항균력을 제지용 무기안료에 이산화티탄과 함께 표면개질하고 다기능성 복합 항균분체를 설계하였다. 표면개질장치에 설치한 기상분사장치를 통해 은 용액을 고압기상분사로 TiO$_2$입자 표면에 Coating 하였다 이때의 분무각도는 60$^{\circ}$이고 오리피스 직경은 0.6mm, 분사 압력은 14kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ 이다. TiO$_2$에 은 용액을 기상분사하여 코팅시킨 후 표면개질 계산식에 의한 배합비로 모입자(clay, CaCO$_3$, PE)와 자입자(TiO$_2$)를 혼합하였고, 분체의 대전현상을 이용하여 모입자 주위에 자입자를 부착시킨 후, 고속기류중 충격력으로 표면개질처리를 하였다 표면개질 장치를 사용하여 제지용 무기안료 표면에 은용액이 코팅된 TiO$_2$를 개질 시켰다. 각종 물성(항균성, 백색도, 산란도)과 XRD, SEM 측정을 통해 기능성 항균분체의 실용방안 가능성에 대하여 조사하였다.

  • Because combine cylinders account for up to 80 percent of the power requirements to harvest grain, it is important to have a reliable method to predict and analyze power consumption. An equation was derived to meet the prediction needs. The equation contains the variables number of bars on the cylinder, concave clearance, concave length, thickness of the feed material, feed rate, and cylinder speed. Indirectly, cylinder diameter was also considered. The derived equation was verified to be a reliable function for three of the variables and the equation was judged to be a reliable power prediction equation.

  • 고전압 기기의 절연물 내부에서 부분방전 현상이 발생되면 절연파괴로 진전된다. 회전기기가 운전중인 상태에서 on-line 부분방전시험은 고정자 권선의 절연상태를 검사, 평가 할 수 있는 중요한 수단으로서 이러한 부분방전시험을 통하여 회전기기 시스템의 사고예방을 위한 진단을 할 수 있다. 부분방전 펄스는 10MHz $\sim$ 1GHz의 대역폭을 갖는 것으로 알려져 있으며, 이러한 고주파 대역의 전자파 에너지의 효과적인 검출을 위한 센서 중 하나로 웨이브가이드 구조의 고주파 검출센서가 존재한다. 기존의 전자기적 에너지를 검출하는 SSC (Stator Slot Coupler)센서를 한쪽 포트를 가지는 마이크로스트립센서 형태로 사용할 경우 접지면이 도체전체로 씌워져 있고 임피던스 정합을 위한 50옴의 칩저항이 신호라인과 접지사이 루프를 형성하여 기기 운전시 기기의 성능에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이 단점을 보완하기 위해서 본 논문에서는 회전기내 부분방전 펄스의 전자기적 에너지를 검출할 수 있는 2선 평행 전송선로 라인을 응용한 부분방전 검출 센서를 제안하였고 시뮬레이션을 통해 성능을 입증하였다. 제안된 센서의 성능을 입증하기 위하여 2선 평행 전송선로 타입의 센서와 기존의 SSC (Stator Slot Coupler) 센서를 약간 변형시킨 마이크로 스트립 센서를 고정자 슬롯의 Wedge 부착한 후 두 센서 비교 분석하였다. 결과적으로 제안된 센서는 기존 SSC 타입의 마이크로스트립 센서에 비하여 더 간단한 형상을 가지며 운전 중 기기의 성능에 영향을 덜 미치는 효과를 얻을 수 있었다.

Characteristics of Flexural Cracking Widths in FRP-Reinforced Concrete Beams Subjected to Short-Term Loads (단기하중을 받는 FRP-보강근 콘크리트 보의 휨균열폭 특성)

  • The use of FRP(Fiber-reinforced polymer) bars results in larger crack widths under service load due to the generally low elastic modulus and poor bond characteristics of FRP as compared with steel reinforcing bars. The work presented herein includes the results from 12 beams composed of nine rectangular beams and three T-beams reinforced with FRP bars tested under four-point bending. It was investigated that the bond coefficient, $k_b$ in ACI 440.1R-06 equation had high variability which the coefficient of variation was 40% in the range of 0.6 to 1.88 with average 1.05.

  • This study aims at predicting structural behaviors of RC (Reinforced Concrete) beams retrofitted with hybrid FRPs (Fiber Reinforced Polymers). Toward this goal, structural analysis for the RC beams retrofitted with hybrid FRPs are performed and validated using existing experimental data. For the analysis, failure models due to debonding of FRPs and concrete separation are implemented within FE (Finite Element) model, based on Smith and Teng, model, and Teng and Yao model, respectively. Nonlinear material and geometrical effects are also included in the analysis. The suggested modeling approaches are able to predict structural behaviors of RC beams retrofitted with hybrid FRPs similar to the experimental data, however, a numerical model needs to be developed in order to predict failure strength of RC beams retrofitted with hybrid FRPs accurately.

  • Experimental researches on the preparation of porous polymeric monoliths in supercritical carbon dioxide have been performed and the effects of monomer and polymerization parameters on the physical properties of the monolith prepared were examined. Polymerizations were carried out in the high pressure stainless steel reactor with sapphire window to show the phase change during the polymerization reaction, and continuous and dry porous monolithic polymer could be obtained. The specific surface area of monolithic polymer increased with monomer contents in reaction mixture and reaction pressure. The Rockwell hardness could be enhanced by the addition of co-monomer MMA in reaction mixtures.

  • A new method of stabilizing a Sagnac optical fiber current sensor is presented. This method is characterized by creating aproper amount of circular birefringence the fibersagnac, whose correaponding value of rotation angle is (m+1/2)$\pi$-$2\Psi$, removes the effect of linear birefringence and leads to achieve good stability. Using the technique the stability of the current sensor was improved more than 10 times to within ${\pm}2.3{%}$ at 300Arms.

  • The manifold designates a pipe system discharging or absorbing water through multiple holes installed along the finite length of the pipe. The proper design of the manifold requires the pre-analysis of the hydraulic characteristics such as system head and flow rate. head loss and hole discharges, etc. On the contrary to the general pipe systems. the head loss along the pipe is hardly quantified in an explicit way since it is complicately varied by the size and arrangement of the holes. In the present study, both energy and continuity equations are employed to analyze the hydraulic characteristics, constituting nonlinear simultaneous equations which are solved by Newton method. In addition, a hydraulic experiment utilizing the manifold system equipped with an automatically controlled valve is performed to reproduce model tide. The result shows that the manifold system can be effectively used in a tidal basin where water flow should be maintained uniformly over the basin width.
